LUCY'S POV

After Cole's fainting episode, Tamara went to get the real nurse, and she gave me an ice pack for my nose, and then revived Cole. Not wanting any other hazard, I told Tamara that she could come over for a movie and pizza. I then skipped school, since nothing else was happening, and I had already missed the test; taking my car for a spin. It was clocking to eleven when I headed over to a bed and breakfast as I heard my tummy rumble, seeing as I didn't really get breakfast.

Last night, I heard a lot of howling, which disturbed me and I couldn't sleep much. Frustrated with the noise, I came out  the front door with a broom, ready to chunk it at whatever was causing the disturbance. Armed with the weapon, I looked and saw nothing, then heard it again from the back. Marching angrily, arms set to stone the creature, I came face to face with a black and white little creature; A dog. It growled angrily showing its teeth as it saw me, fear eminent in its eyes. I growled back, anger eminent in my eyes. I found out that it had a broken paw, due to the way it's front left paw was slightly raised.

Long story short, I have a new guest staying a while, a dog! And I also got a lot of scratches from the beast. I couldn't leave it out there, no matter how much I wanted to. So I carried it in, fed it and prepared a place for it to stay, which was useless, since it occupied my bed with me. Well it's better than a cat to me.

"A cup of coffee, bacon, and some toast." I called out to Jerry. I was inside Frankie's B & B, which was cheaper and had some good meals. Though I can't say the same for the service. We weren't friends per se, I and Jerry, but he was a decent enough dude. He nodded once on sighting me, then as he wrote down my order, before I went to a table to wait.

"Here's your order." Candice muttered, roughly placed it on my table, spilling more than half of the coffee. I quickly used a napkin to dab it, the glared at her,

"Bitch, what's your deal?" I yelled furiously, standing up to her height. A few eyes turned our way which wasn't much as the restaurant was fairly empty. She stood, arms folded, as she chewed her gum, popping it at intervals.

"It was just a mistake, chill out!" She grunted out, rolling her eyes. Then turned, and sashayed back to grab another order. I followed her, moving towards Jerry.

"She knocked over my coffee, you know I didn't pay for half a cup of coffee. So either I get another cup, or I get my money back." I stated, staring into his eyes as I spoke calmly, my breath ragged, yet the words were forced out as I tried to contain my anger.

He let out a sigh, running his hands through his ash colored hair. "I'm sorry about that. Candice has been in a mood for some days." He spoke, opening the register. "How much was it again?" He looked up.

"Two dollars, thirty cents." I reply. He nodded, brought it out, then handed it to me. I nodded once and went back to my table. Once done, it was almost one by the time I left. I enter and start my car deciding to stop at Tamara's home.

******

"Hey sweetheart," a guy drawled poking his head into my car, as I stopped, with his arms on the top of my car.

I don't know the turn I took, but I seem to have landed at a racing ground. There are guys, and girls with skimpy outfits, gathered together, smoking and making out. Just then a car sped past me as the crowd cheered, and the second one came following. I turn, and take a look at him. Black hair, with piercings on his lips, his eyebrows, his ears, and his nose. I saw a glint of light reflecting from his mouth, so I'm guessing he has a tongue ring too.

"Hey." I reply, still scrutinizing him. His eyes seemed green, I thought, looking into them. "Don't call me that."

He smirks. "Sure thing, pumpkin." He says, a grin appearing slightly. I roll my eyes and get out of the car. I pull my jacket against myself, due to the freezing temperature. "So, you here to race, or bet?" He inquires, totally eye fucking me.

I give him a once over too, taking in his black tank top, and his army coloured shorts, along with his perfectly smooth straight legs. "Neither. I'm just passing through." I answer. I take my phone out of my pocket to call Tamara.

I press the on button for some seconds waiting for it to light up, but nothing happens. I repeat the action twice, still no sign.

Dead battery. Great!

Mystery guy watches me as a hawk would a chicken. Then steps forward a bit as he closes the distance between us. "Since you obviously look stranded, how about you engage your self in some exciting sport." He commented.

"Thanks, but no thanks." I say stoutly, and turn. He grabs my hand, stopping my movement. I slowly look back at him and find him already staring at me. I feel a shiver run through me.

"Come on, lucy. Live a little! You only live once, you know." He urges. He trails a hand over my face moving a strand of hair behind my eyes. I slap his hands away, and get away from his grip.

He called me lucy, like he knows me. But I don't know him, though he seems eeriely familiar.

I cock my head slightly, trying to figure him out. "Do I know you?" I question, watching his face earnestly.

He chuckles. "You may not know me, but I know you. And the girl I know doesn't back down from a challenge." He says, watching me intently.

"Who do I have to race?" I grit. He then  smiled. "That's my girl!" He stated.

Ten minutes later, I was in a dark blue Mustang GT, racing against some chick opposite me in a Red Merlot Cheviot.

"You never told me your name." I spoke loudly to him, as I settled into the machine. Him by the side of the car, imitating his former position.

"Start your engines." The voice of the referee echoed as I obliged.

"You didn't ask." He replied haughtily, as he moved slightly away from the vehicle.

I roll my eyes. "Well, I am asking now, am I not?" I retort.

"It's-" he was cut of by the voice of the referee.

"Ready, set,GO!" The referee spoke, and off we went.
