CHAPTER 5

Daniel's POV

All this drama has finally gotten to an end. My parent has been on my neck concerning this meeting with Johnson's family and I'm glad it all cleared up.

I rubbed my temple while using the other hand to turn the staring.

I sighed. " Daddy" I called

" Yes, my son" he answered.
" Hum...I want to ask.." I stuttered

" Ok go on," he said while gazing at me through the mirror.

" Did Reya know the major reasons behind this marriage?" I asked

My daddy tilted his head to one side for a moment while pressing his lips together thoughtfully,  just a second before replying with a sharp "No".

I nodded my head continuously trying to process his answer.

I know my dad is a good man and he won't do anything to hurt anyone. I really don't get the main idea of not telling Reya the reason for this marriage. Honestly, someone needs to shut her ego.

Reya and I are not pretty close. I know she really hates me for me being me. I really don't know her reason. Ok,  I was and I'm still a cad, that just me, and I enjoyed being myself.

Who has a wonderful gift with no usage?
I have all it takes to enjoy my life... Let's do this;

Attractive....check

Dishy....damn so check

Knockout ....check, check....check

Tasty......double check

Tall...times 10check.

Gorgeous...drop dead.... gosh...I know I'm created well.
Not what I call myself but that's what girls and some guys...not only them, I mean everyone calls me that.

I'm hot and I know that!

  Reya is not like other girls that never bother or care about what I do with my life.she is just a loner wolf, She can be so nosy and mean, sometimes she irritates me ok maybe all the time. Like today, she got into my nerve.
Right from our primary school and secondary school, we've both be living our own different world. I was her senior though, I was already in my last year when she got to senior school , we've known each other since our childhood, our parents  are very close friends since when they were in University so, you definitely know the relationship we have together.  Our parents believe we should be together but we are more than separate right now.

She is a  nerd, not the innocent type but a sassy one if I might say and all she does is to mooch around with one boring annoying Christian dude. Some people might object to my say ' boring'  but I meant it. 

  The thing that marvels me is that guy is damn good-looking, hot, and intelligent but the thing is; he doesn't know how to enjoy life. His life is boring, no club, no girls, and some other things we do to make life fun, all that he did to sit with Reya all day as if his life revolves around her.

" Honk....." A car behind me horned
I rolled my eyes at the driver knowing well he can't see me.
He's trying to pass me like he thinks I'm driving slow.
ok, maybe I am, and is all because of these ancient people at my back seat right now. Dad won't allow me to rest if I can speed up more than this. I wonder why their driver didn't drive them instead of giving me a headache on how to drive here.

" Get out of the road if you can drive," says the guy trying to overtake me and now is by my side.

" Get lost, dumbass " I retorted.

" Daniel language !" Mom scolded 
" Sorry mummy" I mumbled my apology.
The guy just scoffed and mumble something which I can't hear and decided to zoom off beside me. Great, I hate driving these people.
I checked the mirror and see that my parents are busy with their phones. 
I scoffed " always business" I shook my head understandingly.

" Breezzzz" my phone rang.

" Holla" says the deep voice on the phone.

" Yh what did ya what," I said getting pissed now, I'm already frustrated with all these marriage stupid things with Reya so I just pick my call without looking at the caller's ID.

" Daniel are you ok?" The deep voice asked his voice  showing concerned

He took me like two seconds to process the voice and finally recognize the owner.

" Ay is that you," I asked in an incredulous tone

" Hey  guy...what's wrong with your life that you couldn't even recognize my voice," he said

I rolled my eyes at him knowing that he cannot see me.

Ay has been my best friend and the closest person to me. We have our own group of small friends but he has always been the best among them and there are a lot of reasons why he's my best friend.

" guy..you sure say you dey ok sha"  he jeered.

I laughed at the pidgin he just spoke now. I don't know why I'm always laughing whenever he speaks that way, because Ay sometimes can be so intimidating in English, I mean you will never believe he's a person that can speak like that.

I let out a laugh. " This ...is.. hilarious guy," I said through my laughter.

" Ok  let's get to the main thing guy, first of all ...how far na?
How Uk and those chicks  over there " he said

" A....y" I called while rubbing my temple.

I can see our mansion in the driveway.

" Guy...can I call you back I need to pack the car now.  I'll call you as soon I'm out of this car" I said while horning for the gatekeeper to open the gate.
" Ok dude" he replied.
I cut off the phone and put it back to the dashboard while turning to the mansion to park.
I hopped down from the jeep and quickly jogged inside the house to get to my room leaving my parent outside while still struggling to get out of the car.

I opened the door to my room and plopped down on the bed. 
I reclined back to the bed, picked up my phone to call AY back. He picked up in just one ring.

" Dude watup," he said

" Bro I'm good, how are you"  
" Oh now you are asking me bah...you came to Nigeria you didn't call me.....not  fair dude" he crooned.

I sighed." Dude I didn't just come to Nigeria because I wanted to, not for now but I came because of my parent, you know how much I love them man" I made a phew sound.

" Honestly, I was planning on coming by December, but now they have to call me here for the business plus family whatever together even if I don't wanna do it but I gat no choice," I said while shrugging.

" Hum...ok. anyways, have really missed you so much ...men everywhere are always boring without you dude." He said

I rolled my eyes " hahaha I can see you've not been going to any club or party because I was not there and I'm very sure it's boring to you...oh how stupidly your lies sound good  " I said sarcastically.

" Shut up ....hum...I went to many parties and clubs...dude you understand what I mean by boring without you...you are all girls crush and you know ...."

" Shhh...just shut up I'm so exhausted right now so I need some rest, I need to clear my mind off so many things dude" I sighed and stood up to pull off my shoes.

" Ok...I got important information I want to share with you now ok...you know what I'm talking about bha?"  he asked. I know that is grinning wherever he is now.

" Ok, you know what...I will come to your place tomorrow evening and let's discuss it. his been a long time and I need to free my chest with so many things." I said in a note of finality 

" Oh wait hang on boy..." He said in haste as if I'm gonna cut off the phone while he's still talking.
" Ok what is it,"  I asked knowing what he's gonna say already.

" Hum... Charles is having his birthday tomorrow, do you remember" he asked

" Oh shit! ...how can I forget" I sighed.

" Honestly man, there a lot of things going on in my life now, ok I will be at Charles's birthday and we can talk from there," I said

" Oh what time is it" I asked 
" What time do you think that mad dude will choose for his birthday" he questioned jokingly

I laughed " yes I know, his around 8 pm to 12 pm... Ok ok ok... I will be there then" I assured.

" Ok man.. and some chicken and ketchup will be waiting too," he said and I know he's grinning... I mean that evil grin.. oh damn.

" Get lost  AY," I said while smiling.

" See ya," he said before hanging up.

I smiled. Have really missed this dude hum. Not that I don't have friends in the UK but they are not people that I opened up to. Ay has been the only one for me.
I shook my head and smile at my thoughts.

I shrugged off my jacket and straight to the bathroom to have a cold shower, I finish bathing and put on some shorts.

I heard a knock on my door.
" Yes, who the heck is knocking?" I asked

" Hum... It's me sir " a beautiful voice said.

I recognize that voice. Have not been at home since I came back from UK, mum and dad took me from the airport straight to that sad news people.

" Can I come in?" she asked bringing me back from my thoughts.

" Hum..wait ..tell me what you wanna say," I said nervously.

" Hum...your sir is calling you for dinner sir." She said.

" Ok I will be there," I said 
She left and that's when I released a breathe that has been holding unknowingly. Don't ask me why I'm so nervous about this girl. Ok, I will tell you but not now.

I put on a white V-neck polo Which exposed my perfect abs. I  made my way downstairs to the dining.

I can see all the female workers or servants in the house gawking, gasping, fanning, and drooling over my perfectly made body abs.  I know right...who can resist Daniel EJikeme, I scoffed to myself while giving them my killer smirk. My face diverted to the girl that came to knock on my door ... hum..Roseline yes that's her name, that's one of the girls that only makes me nervous every time I see her, honestly, I don't know why I'm always like that but I hate that feeling. I swiftly diverted my gaze from her and sit on the chair facing my parent.

" Yes dad, how was the meeting with Mr. Ben?" I asked.

" It was the wonderful son," my dad says while damping napkin on his lips.

" So..you've gotten the goods right," I asked while smiling.
" Yes dear" he replied with a huge grin.

I shook my head in this " nice one"   way 

" So how was the UK and your friends over there? " mom asked

" Oh really woman" I smirked still eyeing her.

" Is now you just remembered that I'm just coming from the UK since 5 years ago" I sighed and placed my hand in my chest " mom you broke my heart " I crooned faking pain.

This is my relationship with my parent, we chat and discuss like a  mate, we play like children, even with my brother Michael, the house was wow, we are one happy family and till now even though Michael is in Australia for about 10years now. Have missed him so much.

" Baby I'm sorry, you know how important the wedding is for us?" Mum asked doing her fake puppy eyes.

" Important than me" I faked cried

" No no my love, I mean is till your life you know.." I cut her off

" No no don't say is my life mom, say is for business even though you want the best for me " I muttered the last past.

" " Ok .. enough of the boyfriend and girlfriend talk" my dad pouted  looking like an angry baby.

" Awwwnn..is someone jealous" mom cooed and roll her eyes.

" Why will I be jealous when I have some ladies ...you know," dad said while doing his evil grin.

Mom gasped ." Honey...are you serious," she asked while faking emotional pain

I burst into a laugh, I threw my head down the chair and put one hand on my Tommy and the other on my mouth.

" M...om, you...know dad is teasing you .... right?" I asked still laughing.

Dad also started laughing uncontrollably till water started drooling out of our eyes.

" You should have seen your mummy's face...omg I love it when she does that" daddy taunt while still laughing.

Mummy banged her hand on the dining table ." Enough you too " mom said pointing her index finger to both of us. 
" I will deal with you later Anthony " she threatened dad while stamping her foot to make her way to the room.

" Honey wait...so..rry ok," Dad said while still laughing.

Dad shifted the chair to stand up." Son we will gist later ok...I gat something to deal with right now " he winked while traipsing backward to make his way upstairs to meet mom in the room.

I shook my head at the scene " these old people won't stop amazing  me." I said while smiling.

The maids cleaned the dining while I was enthralled with my phone and I didn't notice that it was Roseline that was actually cleaning the table.

I looked up f at my phone and I froze .she just looked at me and smile.
That beautiful smile.
Ok, let me tell you what happened between Roseline and me.

Roseline was my age mate when they brought her to my house, and I was in my final year in secondary school. Roseline is a beautiful girl I can't deny that, I was told that her family was rich, but they had a financial problem which made them lose everything they had. I really pity her as a young girl she has to go through all this, she told us that she wanna work for us for 2 years and that's how she became someone closed to my family, everyone loves her including Michael, so she decided to stay with us and now she is the one controlling another maid. You may ask me why she decided to pack our plate today; it's probably because I'm back and she thinks we are still in the same term which we are not. I know I played girl but I always tell them my true intentions so they won't trust me with their heart. I guessed she didn't know I'm done with her, and I was nervous because I can't imagine everything has tried with her and now she is still in my house, that's awkward.

Ok, let me get to the point. Roseline was like nooky to me....you know when I was in my last year in secondary school. That's all that I can say for now.

I rubbed my temple still tired. I decided to go upstairs to my room to sleep.  I lazily climbed the staircase to my room, I slumped down on the bed.
I'm so glad that I will be meeting my friends tomorrow. 
Wait a minute...Reya will surely be there.
Why does she have to be there... honestly I can't stand that lumpatious mannerless girl. 
it's been two minutes before I feel my eyes heavy and that's how I was welcomed to the dreamland.
