He was really paranoid about her hiding the child, and he tortured her with various ways to make her surrender. In his eyes, she was a pretentious woman, so everything she did was scheming…

Word by word, he insulted her constantly.

"What did you say?"

Kevin's face went black.

"Mr. Jackson, you should take your pill." Emma said indifferently as she looked at him,

"Maybe there is a cure for paranoia, you should not give up."

The next second, she was thrown hard on the ground by him.

"Bang."

Emma fell heavily, and the pain on her organs was severe.

Kevin stepped on her leg and stared at her angrily, his face completely gloomy, "Do you know that you are asking for death?"

His irritable over-pretentious personality was typical symptoms of paranoia, but no one had ever dared to laugh at him, face to face.

This bold woman…challenged his bottom line this time.

Emma didn't answer.

Kevin stepped on her leg mercilessly, but in the end, he bore his growing anger and walked away.

Emma lay motionless on the floor, the light of the sun shining through the floor-to-ceiling window on her body. She was like a lifeless doll.

She didn't even have any expression.

After a long time, she sat up from the ground, numbly lifting the skirt and found a large bruise on her leg.

Kevin did that to her out of rage.

She provoked him on purpose. Although she knew she shouldn't have done that to a man with paranoid, she still did that.

She was out of choice. If she hadn't done that, she would have been raped one more time…

Emma could tell that the more she flattered and pleased him, the more he was interested in her, which was the last thing she wanted to see, especially when she was desperate to regain her freedom.

She didn't want that…

If she had to sacrifice her body, dignity, and freedom, she'd rather die.

In the spacious hall, Emma sat silently on the comfortable sofa, her face pale and numb.

"Miss Spears, you are a smart tough girl in my eyes. Why did you..." Jacob paced in front of her and looked at her anxiously.

He didn't expect that Emma angered Kevin by laughing at his deepest taboo.

This was completely beyond his expectations.

"How is he going to punish me?"

Her voice was numb and calm.

She knew Kevin wouldn't let her go easily.

"Master Kevin enjoined us to abandon you in the forest, " Jacob frowned as he replied, "with the bodyguards guarding around the forest, there is no chance that you might escape. Without food and water, within seven days…"

"I'll die."

Emma spoke out her ending.

She knew Kevin wouldn't let her go easily, but she did not expect him to be so ruthless. It seemed that she really offended him.

"You have only one way out this time. Hand over the baby and apologize to my master… If so, maybe there is a chance to save…"

"Can I make the last phone call before I die?" Emma asked in a low voice.

"Miss Spears…"

"I know there is no use calling the police. I just want to make the last phone call."

Emma said, raising her eyes to Jacob pleadingly.

Probably she wanted to call her adoptive parents.

Jacob looked at her with pity and finally sighed helplessly. Then he beckoned the servant to move the landline to Emma to satisfy her last wish.

Emma sat on the sofa and looked down at the antique telephone in front of her. She wanted to raise her hands to get it, but her hands were so weak that she couldn't lift them.

She wasn't sure if the person she wanted to call would pick up the phone.

After a long time, when Jacob thought that she was going to petrify, Emma finally reached out slowly to pick up the phone, and her index finger pressed a string of numbers that she could recite backward.

Every number had exhausted all her strength.

The ringtone on the phone lasted so long that it could kill people...

"Hello?"

A slightly feminine voice sounded in the microphone.

He picked it up.

Emma sat there blankly as if her soul had freed from her body. Her heart was beating in chaos, and the microphone almost slipped from her hand.

"Who is this?" The voice sounded impatient because Emma didn't answer for a long time.

"It's…me."

Emma finally answered, her voice trembling.

After a long time of silence, the air almost stopped flowing.

Wondering if the people had recognized her voice, Emma paused for a moment and then said, "It's me, Emma Spears."

"I know it's you." Eric's voice was wry, "Didn't I tell you not to call me privately? I don't want to cause any unnecessary misunderstanding."

He said that quite indifferently.

Emma listened to him blankly. Suddenly, she got no idea how to ask for help, "Eric…"

"I'm afraid it's inappropriate for you to call me." Eric interrupted her coldly, "After all, I'm your future brother-in-law, sister."

The "sister" he called distanced them from each other.

Of course. He was about to be her brother-in-law, of course, he should call her sister, even if she was two years younger than him.

Emma pursed her lips bitterly. After a while, she said, "If I tell you that I'm kidnapped now, would you come to rescue me?"

If there was anyone in this world who could make it to save her, it must be Eric Davis.

She obstinately believed that.

"Kidnapped? Who would kidnap a worthless cartoonist? Are you delusional after drawing so many comics?" Eric sneered as his voice became colder, "Catherine is your sister no matter what. Why do you make up such a lie to entangle with me, your brother-in-law? Is this what a good sister should do?"

Making up a lie.

Why did everyone think she was lying? Kevin believed so, and now Eric…

"I'm not lying. Please help me…" She pleaded.

Jacob stood aside and did not stop Emma from asking for help. It was useless anyway. No one could save anybody from Kevin Jackson's hands.

"If you are really kidnapped..."Eric's voice rang in her ears. She could tell he felt disgusted. He paused, and then said word by word, "I will bury you considering we are relatives."

He said that he would bury her if she was killed in this kidnapping accident.

Emma felt like she was thrown into an ice cellar, feeling cold from head to toe. She was already unconscious.

Her heart was too hurt to feel anything.

The way Kevin treated and tortured her had made her feel it would better if she died. But if she could, she still wanted to survive, with Eric's support…

But Eric just destroyed her last hope.

He wouldn't come and save her.

He made her feel the despair that was more painful than death. She had thought that as long as she asked, he would come to save her...

It turned out she was too naïve.

"Catherine has a show to play. I'm gonna join her."

Eric was about to hang up the phone, showing no interest in their conversation.

"You still can't remember me, can you?" Before he hung up, Emma asked hurriedly.

This was the last time she asked him about this.

"Emma Spears, don't you think you are quite bored? What's the point entangling with me?" Eric refused coldly. His aversion toward her was so obvious.

She was totally disgusted in his eyes…

Emma's long eyelashes were trembling, and her fingers were so white that she wanted to hang up at this time, but she couldn't bear to do that.

This was the last call she made before her death.

She held the microphone tightly, blinked her dry eyes, and slowly said, "Eric, listen, I tried hard, and my efforts can only stop here. If there is one day that you may think of me, please…"

Please come to see me in front of my tombstone.

Eric hung up before she finished. She could hear from the phone that Catherine urged him, and he always put her first.

Hearing the beeping sound in the phone dully, Emma felt agonizing pain.

He was even unwilling to hear her last words.

Eric Davis.

When he was young, he was not preferred by his family because of his blindness, dullness, and silence, and then he was fostered by her family. Six years ago, he had surgery and his vision returned to normal, but he lost all his memory because of the small incident during the operation.

And then, he fell for Catherine, her sister.

What an ironic story.

The boy who had used to be with her and claimed to marry her in the future completely changed after the surgery…

No matter what she said and what she did, Eric thought she was jealous of her sister and wanted to steal her sister's boyfriend...Her parents thought she had gone too far and ignored her.

In fact, she was also very tired. Facing a person who had no memory of her, she had done enough and lost enough.

Today… the story between them was kind of coming to an end.

"Miss Spears, are you okay?" Jacob came to her, looking at her worriedly.

She looked sadder than how Master Kevin looked when he was stricken…

"I'm ready to go to the forest."

Emma put down the microphone as she said that slightly. The luster once in her eyes was gone. All her thoughts were blasted.

From what he said, she had realized that nobody had found that she was missing.

Nobody cared about her.

She wondered how long would it take for them to notice her death. And who? Catherine? Her foster parents? Her colleagues… Or Eric Davis?

Was it even important now?

"Miss Spears, would you rather die than bowing your head to Master Kevin? Jacob asked.

"If giving in could finally free me, I'd like to do that; but if I could only live as the person warming up his bed like a ghost, I refuse to do so."

Emma whispered, stood up from the sofa, and left without any hesitation.

Seeing her so determined, Jacob stopped trying to persuade her, only prayed that there would be a turning point...

A huge lounge.

Kevin lied on the top-level space capsule massage chair.

Nancy and the two beauties stood on the bar next to him, mixing wine. From time to time, she walked to Kevin's side and tried her best to attract his attention, but she didn't dare go too far, otherwise, he would be irritated.

Kevin didn't even look at them at all. He had a remote control in his hand, his handsome face frosty, and his black eyes looking at the large vertical screen in front of him.

On the screen, there was a dense forest outside the castle.

Pushed forward by a bodyguard, Emma was in a full-length blue dress. She didn't struggle at all, walking in, step by step like she had accepted this as her fate. There were falling branches on the ground that broke her dress, but she didn't even notice it.
