Dr. Sommers checked the vitals of the girl, her blood pressure and everything again. It was literally unbelievable to him and all the rest who had heard of the girl's survival. There was absolutely nothing wrong with her, not even a bruise was found on her body. Sjre she was entirely covered in mud but that was the only thing that proved she was actually involved in the landslide that practically disfigured some of the corpses that were recovered. No one even understood how she got out.

"It's a miracle Ruby! Some kind of spontaneous reminiscence." He said as he wrote something on her carnet.

"There is nothing spontaneous about being picked out of the ground! Can I go home now?" Ruby grumbled. If there was anything she hated more that hospitals, it was guys in white jackets.

"Are you aware everyone but you died in that landslide. If not for the way the found you; covered in mud and unconscious, no one would believe you were actually at that campsite." Dr. Sommers said and a nurse who had been standing by continued,

"That's right Ruby. Home isn't where you should be going. You should be going to a church and thanking God you're alive."

"Yeah right! He does such a great job in keeping me alive, and for what? To suffer? No thank you! I'd rather be six feet under," Ruby said. The nurse frowned. Soon it transitioned to anger.

"Little girl!" She said in a serious tone, "watch your mouth! That's blasphemy and after what just happened to you? If you can't be grateful, you should at least be respectful. Not everyone is giving a second chance like you just had."

"Yeah, well I'm nineteen. Not a little girl and I don't have time to be here listening to you, I need my stuff so I can get out of here."

"Well you can't leave," the nurse followed. Her bulbs were bulging out of her eyelids. "Without settling your bill." She through a piece of paper at Ruby, who carefully examined it. Then her eyebrows creased upwards, she frowned, a lot more than she'd been doing all through out,

"And you want me to thank this guy. If I was dead, I wouldn't be indebted right now! So OK. Thank you up there." She yelled before falling back into the bed, sulking.

"Yeah well, when you're ready to settle your bills or have some decency. We'll be at our office. Let's leave this spoiled teenager to her self imposed loneliness Dr. Sommers!" The nurse finished and left. Soon after Dr. Sommers just followed without uttering a single word.

"Well get the fuck out!" Ruby retorted. Immediately they left, she scanned around for her cloths but there was none. And the will be nothing more suspicious than a young girl roaming around the streets in a hospital gown.

Yes! She was homeless.

Ruby had come in contact with a group of teenagers who called themselves the "happy helpers" and had only joined them on their camping trip because she was promised free shelter after their trip. But fate or rather someone hadn't been so kind on them.

Now she was back to where she was and with an unnecessary bill she planned to run from; that is, as soon as she could find decent clothing.

She got on her feet and started pacing around.

Need a plan! Need a plan! Need a fucking plan! She chanted in her mind,

"I don't think pacing about and chanting 'need a plan' is going to do you any help Ruby." A male voice came from the door. And then entered a man. He leaned against the door, 6.4 tall, cream white skin that looked too fragile to touch, but yet muscled arms that looked like they could lift up ten Ruby's or burst out of his shirt. His gold locks were held in one loose bundle behind his head; the curls still very visible though and glittering like the line where the sun meets the sunflower's petals. Sharp and well defined cheekbones that could cut through glass and icy blue eyes like a pool of one thousand sapphires.

"Who are you?" Ruby found herself asking, though she wouldn't mind just staring into those eyes and not say a word for the rest of her life.

"I'm Ridyan! I'm a sponsor of the happy helpers and I came to check on our lone survivor!" He said,

"Uh huh! And how do you know my name? I only joined those guys yesterday,"

"They buzz a lot so your name travelled fast." He shrugged.

"And how did you know what I was saying in my head?"

"It's logic. You owe the hospital, you have no one, not even your cloths are here, and you can't run away without cloths so the next thing is; you need a plan." He took two large steps towards her, in dark blue jeans that hung to his hips in delight, and a well tucked in white shirt with the sleeves rolled up to his elbows.

"You, are kinda creepy and I need help so unless you are here to help me, get out." He smiled. A small gesture but with huge effects. It was like the lights of the room dimmed and were replaced by the simplicity of his lips curling upwards.

"Don't be like that Ruby, I might be your only friend you know?"

"Yeah right!" She huffed. He just smiled and walked back outside. He came back in with a paper bag and stretched his hands towards her, motioning her to take the bag. She hesitated,

"I already settled your bills and here are some fresh cloths. Your other ones were muddy."

Ruby threw a glance at the bag. She brought her hands up to her chest and crossed them under her breasts,

"Why are you helping me and what's the catch?"

"I'm helping because I want to; and as for the catch; it's bigger than me but you; you might just be an equal measurement to it."

"You're not going to make me have sex with you are you?"

His expression changed and turned to a serious one, "No! I could never! I'm not like that."

Ruby took the bag. She looked at him suspiciously, then muttered,

"As long as it's in my power, whatever it is, if its legal, I'll do it."

"Thank you." Ridyan said then smiled. In a brief second, a blink of on eye, his sapphire eyes glittered like the light of the sun on a clear blue sea over a clear blue sky, and the shadow of wings grew over his own shadow, out of Ruby's sight.

Rydian was the angel Sariel. The same one who had rescued Ruby during the land slide. He was following up  a mission on earth: a mission that hadn't been given to him but that he had taken upon himself.

As Rydian pushed open the doors of his supposed home, Ruby's mouth fell wider open. It was a sight worthy of cherubim voices as music. Everything was in either white or gold; like a palace in another dimension."You live here?" She asked, dropping her backpack as she marvelled at the beauty of her surrounding. Rydian just hummed an incoherent sound, supposedly to say yes."Alone?" She asked again. He fell silent, his mood and movements changed. He stopped dead in his tracks, watching around carefully. Like he could sense something was wrong, or that someone was around."Apparently not!" He said looking up, as if someone was about to fall out of nowhere,"What is it? You look- not OK." Ruby said, but before she could comprehend his actions, Rydian turned and touched lightly on her forehead with his middle and index finger and she fell into his arms: into a deep slumber. With shaky hands dripping with blood, her head held low and her face covered in agony, Sonny stood before the devil in his true form: long dark hairy tale with it's pointy red and sharp arrow-like end, short red and rough horn on his forehead, long black claws on both hands, flashing a mouthful of pin sharp teeth."Why did you make me do this?" Sonny asked, her head still held low. Her voice a pitch lower than usual."You would have ended up doing something relatable sooner anyway. Now is not the time for sulking. Change up! dress nice. We have a French descendant to pick up." He said and took back on a human form before putting on his leather jacket."I am not going anywhere with you!" Sonny cried taking a stand to look straight into his eyes but almost as if it burnt her she winced sharply, shutting tight her eyes and falling to floor, obviously in pain. His eyes were a fiery red; infusing unbearable pai
