Reasons

"I told you I was not in the right state of mind when I said that." I hissed referring to what I just said yesterday and he's making it a big deal.

"No, I don't believe you. You're not drunk when you said that." He retort, I glared at him and give up. "I was not thinking straight okay? I was stress and that's all." But he didn't buy my excuses.

"Tell me, Trish what is holding you back?" He asked raising his both brow, eyes were wide like he's eager to know what's inside my head.

I shake my head, "You will not understand."

"Then make me understand," he replied. But I shake my head, "I need to go."

It's been a month now and I'll be lying if I say that my life is now great without someone's help. I got hired a Barista in a coffee shop near in the University that I study at. Wages are low and it is not enough for my daily expenses. But the annoying part is.. Timothy will always went in a coffee shop wearing a smug face on his face whenever our eyes met.

"Not tired yet?" He commented when I start mopping the floor. "You know what... Tiana and Alex is throwing a party this coming week." He began as if I was listening. Well, kind of? He's been ranting about his ex and best friend.

"I'm running out of time," He added looking down on his cup of Americano. "Why don't you just move-on? It's just a girl," I shrugged while still mopping.

"It be sounds so cringe but I'm so in love her, you know?" I stopped as I glance at him, his doe brown eyes met mine. "It's been five months now, Timothy since you two broke up! Come on," I stated.

"I know, but-"

"You're just not helping yourself," I shake my head.

"I tried," he uttered.

"No, you're not trying that hard," I corrected. I was about to go to the staff room to return the mop, when he say something that got me turned my head.

"It is easy for you to say that because you never been in love," he murmured.

What love done has to people? Seriously, a heartache? Headache? What else? I don't understand and it's crazy what people do for love.

"Maybe you're right, love is not my thing. I hate love and I hate being in love. I never want it to happen to me," I exclaimed.

"Sounds so bitter," he commented while his forehead is creased. "You never had any boyfriend, did you?"

"You know what? If you are here to annoy me? You're doing it great. Hope I cannot see you here tomorrow." I said before I left him there.

Bitter? No, I'm just protecting my heart. At the age of mine, I've never had a boyfriend. There is someone's courting me but I'm afraid. I am hesitant if someday I fall in love because I tend to over-think what ifs a lot. If I love someone today, I'm scared that he might be my world and everything and I don't like that idea. It sound so helpless and uncomfortable.

Three days past and I never thought he would believe that I don't wanna see him here. But it's okay, I feel so conscious when he's here anyway so I feel a little bit better without him I guess.. I was stunned the moment I saw my sister entered the shop but I still remained my posture but deep down inside my head is hell! What was she doing here?

She's really beautiful. No, doubt that. Not because she is my half-sister but because she's really breath taking but there's one thing I hate about her. It is her attitude.

"Hi, Ma'am good afternoon may I take your order?" Laarni says to Tiana. "Oh, uhm can I have milk and chocolate milk please?" She ordered before she glance to my direction. I avoided her gaze when she smirk when she saw me.

"Long time no see, my half-sister," She greeted. "You work here?" She asked so surprised, eyes were wandering the place. "You know I can talk to Dad if you kinda feel tired you know," she suggest, if I didn't know her it will be sound so concern, sweet and innocent but I know she wouldn't like that.

I rolled my eyes on her, "Cut it Tiana, I know that's actually an opposite." She laughed at my statement while shaking her head. "Yeah, right? Okay gonna dropped my act now. I absolutely hate you and it wouldn't change that fact."

"Who told you that I like being your half-sister though? If you hate me, then go. Hate me all you want. And oh by the way Timothy is my boyfriend now." By mentioning her ex-boyfriend, I can read her face like she cannot believe what I've just said.

I don't know what is the reason of why they broke up but whatever it may I'm happy though. Because Timothy deserves better.

"You what?!" At this time I think luck was on my side, when Timothy entered the shop eyes were searching until his eyes landed on mine. "Oh, speaking of.." I said teasingly to Tiana

"Hi, babe!" I greeted him, but he look so clueless of what's happening. He look from his back before he pointed himself.

"Babe?" Timothy said in almost a question tone but he was so surprised when she saw the girl I was talking too. "Oh, alright. Babe," he babbled.

"Here's your order Ma'am" Laarni gave to Tiana her order

"Keep the change." She said to Laarni with a smile so sweet like an Angel, "We're not done yet," She uttered before she leave the cafe. "Yeah, sure." I replied before I glance to Timothy watching his ex back leaving the cafe.

"You're here." I said while I cannot help myself but smirk.

"What the hell is happening?! Why she's here?!" He asked.

"Gonna tell you the reason what's holding me back for agreeing to be your paid-oh-so-girlfriend but first of that. I need to finish my duty so can you wait for me?" I raised my both brow as I wait for his answer.

"Stop playing with me, Trish I know you wouldn't." He said

"Just wait for me, I'm going to tell you what's my relation to Tiana," and with that he sighed defeated and nodded his head.

"Just don't wait me for so long."

"I won't." I laughed.
