Chapter 23

Rose’s Pov: 

My mouth still hung agape at what was presented in front of me loads of ammunition, fire arms and so much more, I nearly chocked on my own spit I was in that much shock “No way....” I said, I look towards them as I continue “You have no idea what you would be getting yourselves into they are the mafia they have millions upon millions of social connections and upon that have so many allies where only three people” I exclaimed, “Look Roselle....” Janelle said using my true name, “We might be three but that doesn’t mean we stop fighting for you and your rights, he doesn’t own you, you are not his property” she said while practically making sure I heard every word, I shake my head turning around “If you both get involved he will make your life just as much as a living hell as mine he will do anything if it deemed necessary, even controlling your lives” they both scoff and laugh a bit “Control our lives?” I turn around “This is a no laughing matter girls if anything happened to you I don’t know what I’ll do with myself....” they realised I wasn’t in a joking mood clearly.

They both sighed as Janelle than stood her ground “We fight” she said with power in her voice, “Three in....Three out” Richelle stated Janelle puts her hand in first, than Richelle as I looked up nodding my head feeling strength building back up in my bones as I slammed my hand down “Well let’s get jinky with it” I stated as I quoted Velma’s phrase in Scooby Doo they both laughed but we knew we had to get serious. 

1 hour:

As Richelle started packing some of the ammunition in my bag and getting a couple of guns she handed me one a 38 revolver and I immediately have a flashback as the sounds of the screaming and yelling pierced my ears.

1 year ago:

“Please....don’t kill me I have a wife a family, a daughter” a man begged in front of me my hand trembled slightly as I look away he was innocent I couldn’t look and pulled the trigger as screams and cries were heard from the people in the basement Jace had gathered. I than look down at them some were terrified some were looking at me in pity as a tear went down my left cheek ‘I couldn’t do this anymore’ I look behind me to see Chad casually grab the next one I turn the gun around hitting him right in the head as his body drops, grabbing the keys off his body chucking them to the nearest man “You get these people out of here” I quickly go to a brick wall and open the hidden latch as I point my gun towards the door waiting for Jace to come down, as I hear the basement door creak, he descends the stairs as the floorboards creak each step making me feel uneasy, he looks at the seen unfolding than he’s black soulless eyes reach mine as he smirks “Baby girl why are you doing this to me” he said he didn’t sound hurt he found it quite amusing as if he knew I would do this, “Fuck you I’m done with you and I’m done with this gang I will never be married to you, and I will never ever be your queen” I replied as I step back pushing the people behind me and defending them guiding them to the hidden door, “We are far from done baby girl I’ll find you always” he smirks as he says this, I back away as the door slowly shuts with him smirking evilly sending chills down my spine.

Present:

“Hey you okay, you zoned out there for a bit....” Janelle says worried, I smile while replying “I’m okay just lost in thought” she smiles a bit as the book case closes “Obviously you know how to use this....” Richelle said while gesturing to the 38 revolver in my hand, I nod slowly, as I place the gun in my bag “Hopefully we won’t need to use these...” I say on edge, they nod I blow a deep breath out “Well I’m going to get back home Reece must be worried” I say they walk me out as I start up my bike, Richelle ran out and grabbed my hand putting her necklace in the palm of my hand closing it “wear this always wherever you go promise me” I furrow my eyebrows “But-“ I object, she shakes her head “No buts I can get another one made” I nod while hugging Richelle and Janelle heading back home, I walk in the door scratching my head only to see Liam.

“Hey Rose where have you been running off to?” He questions with a dashing smile, I laugh a bit awkwardly “Here and there...” ‘Remain vigilant Rose he might be dangerous and could be connected with Jace’ I say to myself in thought, “Oh by the way Reece went out to get some groceries while my brother on the other hand is no where to be found” he says while rolling his eyes at the mention of Ryder my eyebrows furrow in worry and I’m feeling a bit ill, “I’m going to go get some rest holler when Reece is back...” I say while climbing up the stairs as he turns the television on, I than silently jog up the stairs about to go in his room and investigate until his phone started ringing I gasp and jump in to the nearest closet holding my breath as I hear him ascend the stair case groaning while walking into his room, “hey.....Yeah she’s starting to get suspicious.....Oh Ryder...well I’ll say they have a connection....what do you want me to about it......your the one that’s still hung up on her.....yeah sorry..sorry.....I’m flying under the radar here and it doesn’t help that I’m living with my brother.....yeah he’s whipped....okay....I’ll do it” he hung up as I put my hand to my mouth, was he.....talking to Jace?.
