Chapter 24

Rose’s Pov:

I’m sitting on my bedroom floor gripping my head tears have streamed down my cheeks for hours, ‘ No this is all wrong Liam can’t be apart of this they have no link to each other but than if I’m wrong than who was he talking to... I hear a slight knock on my door I jump at the sudden sound. “Petals you in there?” Ryder asks, I sigh in relief I swallow hollering “Yep Ryder I’m in here” I replied huddling my legs together, he creaked the door open looking at my fragile form “Hey are you okay?” He asks while he slowly walks over to me crouching, I wipe my cheeks “I’m fine” I replied he raises his left eyebrow as he spoke “Clearly...”, I sighed while getting up as he did “Really I’m fine” I say trying to reassure him but he clearly wasn’t reassured, I walk over to my double bed, I get under my bed covers and bring the quilt up to my chin knowing the nightmares will over take me soon “I’ll let you sleep petals just know I’m here...” Ryders says as I can see a smile as the moonlight shines on his perfectly sculpted face, Ryder is about to exit my room but I suddenly sit straight up “Can you stay...” I ask desperation in my voice, he pauses but turns around than suddenly he begins walking towards me, he gets under the covers I turn over and for some reason I needed to feel safe and I needed Ryder as weird as that is I need comforting, he pulls me closer to him as I snuggle into his chest, he than kisses the top of my forehead bringing butterflies to my stomach while rubbing small circles on my back, I can tell he is worried by the faces he pulls but he doesn’t question me and I was happy he didn’t but he was with me and that’s what counted, I take a deep breath closing my eyes feeling safe.

Ryder’s Pov:

4 hours before:

“Your in today for once” Parker said raising his eyebrow as he is on the computer hacking profiles and god knows what, I roll my eyes sighing “I’ve come in to do something....” I replied while placing the plastic bag on the table, he frowns as he pulls the plastic bag towards him he analyses each bit“And I’m guessing you want to piece this back together?” He says while picking up bits and pieces of the letter, “Is it recoverable” I ask, he stands up from his seat “We can probably use the bigger pieces first and than try and decipher the rest later which will take a couple of hours” he said as if trying to piece it together frowning at one piece In particular, “God where did you get this?” He asks, I lean over the table “What?” I replied confused, he pieces some of it together and gets a projector using the light.

“There’s a series of addresses on this can’t decipher it but parts of a poem are in here and I wouldn’t call it the romantic kind”, ‘I look up at the screen “Lying in a pool of blood” I exclaim ‘What the actual fuck?!’ “Uhh if you don’t mind me asking Ryder where did you get this?” He questions worried. I looked to the side gripping the table feeling the sudden urge to rage out I grab the chair and throw it at the wall, “hey mate calm down...” Parker says while going around the table, he put his hands on my shoulders “What’s wrong man?” He questions I take a deep breath out, Wayne than comes in “Hey Parker how’s that prog-...” he says but stops short looking up from his phone at the mess I made “Okay what’s going on?” He asks curiously, I sigh while filling them in on where I found the bag and how Rose acted not to mention all the information Rico provided, silence filled the room you could hear a pin drop that’s how silent it was “Okay... first we need to piece this letter back together she won’t tell us obviously because she doesn’t know who we are and our pasts” Parker says while going back around the table, “Wayne work on deciphering the letter and Parker finish up that progress report and give it to Rico we keep this low” I say eyeing both of them as they nodded.

Present:

She’s snuggling into me breathing me in “I’ll protect you petals...I promise” I say pulling the quilt up covering her.

Jace’s Pov:

I walk up to her new house pausing and scoffing “You think you could hide from me Roselle” I shake my head saying it silently as I round the house I look through her window, my eyes widened at the site and my jaw is clenched my hands are in fists as I see her in bed with Ryder, he than kisses her head as I see a faint smile on her face, “Be happy while you can Ryder because you’ll become her number one enemy” I smirk while leaving another letter in her fly screen and walking back to my vehicle.
