LOGINAbby grabbed a towel from nearby and wrapped it around her waist which was really Cain's waist. If they weren't able to switch back soon then she would eventually have to see his private parts but it just felt awkward to do so now.
"Let me grab a robe for you. You can look at my scars later if we don't end up switching back bodies soon."
Abby walked over to the huge walk-in closet. She had all of her clothes organized so it didn't take her long to find a robe.
"Aren't we going to take a shower though?"
Cain was confused by all this. He had thought she wanted to take a shower so she could get rid of all the germs but now she was covering both him and herself up. He thought it was cute how shy she was though. Most other fangirls would probably have jumped at the opportunity of showering with him and even more to actually get to see him naked. She was definitely different from all those other fans, at least he thought so from what he had seen so far.
"You're right. We were going to take a shower. It's getting late now isn't it? You'll have to go back soon..." Her embarrassment and nervousness had made her forget all about the shower they were going to take.
Cain saw how dejected she seemed. She really didn't want to go to his dorm. He knew of a way to cheer her up though. He hadn't told her this but his roommate was actually Abel, her bias wrecker. He thought that perhaps that would at least get her bit excited. She had said she would have liked to meet him after all.
"Do you want to know who I share rooms with?"
She really didn't. Talking about such a thing would probably only give her another panic attack. Knowing that she might actually have to share rooms with other people wasn't really something that excited her, it scared her. She knew though that if it hadn't been for her Mysophobia, she would have loved the idea of living with Adam. If only this had happened last year she might have actually not even wanted to switch back bodies so soon. She would have taken advantage of the situation and enjoyed it.
"Who do you share a room with?"
Not really wanting to either ask or know, she still asked. She was going to have to know either way. The last time she knew, he had been sharing rooms with Joel, Lucas and Eli. But roommates were usually changed ever so often, he could have changed rooms for all she knew.
"Your bias wrecker."
Abby waited for him to say more but he didn't. She was expecting him to share rooms with at least two members so the fact that he was only sharing with one at least alleviated her a bit.
"That's it? You only share rooms with one member?"
Cain had expected at least a bit of excitement from her but that had not been Abby's reaction at all. He didn't really know what to make of her reaction. Had she perhaps hoped he shared rooms with more members? That couldn't be, she had Mysophobia and she seemed to hate the idea of sharing rooms with other people. So the more people she would have to share a room with, the more she was likely to hate it.
"Yup. That's it. Just Abel and me. Lucas used to be in our room but he moved out recently and is now sharing rooms with Simon and Josiah."
Abby wondered why they even changed rooms. It just sounded weird to her that they did.
"Do any of the members have their own room?"
She wondered if perhaps Cain (well herself now), could request to have a room to herself.
"Nope. There are only three bedrooms. So the other two bedrooms have three members sharing each room. Their bedrooms are bigger though. Abel and I have the smallest bedroom so that's why it's just us two now. It was getting cramped with three of us in there and that's why Lucas moved out."
"Do you sleep on a bunk bed or single Twin beds?"
Abby didn't know which one would be worse. With a bunk bed she would basically be sharing a bed but they were some feet apart from each other and it was one above the other. With single Twin beds, they would still be some feet apart but they would be side to side.
"Separate Twin beds. The other two rooms have the bunk beds."
Abby didn't know what to say to this so instead she went ahead into the shower.
"Well let's get this done, shall we?"
Cain nodded and followed after her. She still had the towel wrapped around her waist and he still had the robe on but they were going to have to take them off once they were both inside the shower and with their eyes closed.
They scrubbed each other in silence. Neither of them knew what else to say. Cain wondered why Abby had another loofah when she had said she lived alone. Did it mean she had a boyfriend? Did he come over to visit and that's why she had an extra one? Was he using the loofah of another guy? Those were all questions Cain asked himself while all the while wishing he could ask them aloud.
If only Cain had followed Abby into her closet, he would have seen that the loofah he was using wasn't the only extra one she had, she had several others. She only really used the same loofah for a day and then threw it out because using it more than once seemed dirty to her. She would get rid of all the germs on her body but then those germs had to transfer somewhere and that would be the loofah.
Cain could no longer stay silent, his curiosity was killing him. He had to know.
"Do you perhaps have a boyfriend?"
"Huh? Why do you want to know?" Abby was surprised by the sudden question.
"Well...I'm just wondering if I'll have to play the part of a girlfriend while I'm in your body. It would be sort of awkward if I did..."
It was a lie. He wasn't really wondering that, well perhaps only a bit but it really wasn't the reason why he had asked her.
"I don't. I wouldn't even be able to if I wanted to."
"Why do you say that?"
She was beautiful so he didn't see why she wouldn't be able to get a boyfriend. He would probably even ask her out if he could but there were two reasons that were stopping him from doing so. The first reason was that he was not allowed to date, at least not yet but almost. According to their contracts, Adam had to wait at least three years till they could start dating but waiting five years was recommended. It was going to be their three year anniversary soon though and then he and the other members would be able to date.
But he knew it wasn't a good idea to date that soon or at least not go public with a relationship. He had seen a lot of idols lose fans simply for dating and not only that but whoever they dated usually received a lot of hate. The second reason why he didn't ask her out was because they currently weren't even in their own bodies so it would almost be as if he were to date himself and that would just be weird.
"Couples go out on dates, they hug and kiss. All things I can't really do. Agoraphobia and Mysophobia, remember?"
She thought that it would be obvious as to why she couldn't date. Who would even want to date someone they couldn't go out with and who they couldn't even hug or kiss? No one.
"But we kissed..."
Neither of them had brought the kiss up but Cain wanted to talk about it. He wanted to apologize to her that he had taken off her mask and face shield because that was really the only reason they ended up kissing. Had he kept them on, they wouldn't have.
"I know but that didn't really count. I was really only kissing myself if you think about it, which is weird but at least I didn't freak out about it. But if I were to actually kiss someone else then that would be a whole different story."
She was right. They really were only kissing themselves so it didn't really count as a kiss.
"Well I think that if you really love someone, not going out on dates and not hugging or kissing shouldn't really be a big deal. They could still spend time together and talk, sort of like we're doing right now. You don't actually have to leave your apartment to have a date. Ever heard of Netflix and popcorns? Those two things probably make a better date than anything else."
Abby was sure he was only trying to make her feel better. She was thankful for that but he didn't have to lie. She knew that watching a movie at home was probably the most boring date one could have, especially if there was no cuddling and kissing involved.
"Actually, if you would like, we could have one right now. Do you have Netflix?"
"What do you mean we could have one right now?"
Abby didn't know where Cain was going with all this. She thought he had to go back to his dorms soon and then there was the fact that he needed to return the car to his mom.
"A date. If you don't have Netflix it's fine, I can just log into Josiah's account. I'm sure he wouldn't mind. Got any popcorn though?"
"But—don't you have to go?"
Cain hadn't forgotten he had to leave (well technically Abby) but he had come up with a temporary solution, one in which not only would allow them to be together for a night but perhaps a week or two. That week or two would also give them more time to see if they could switch back. Abby would just have to be okay with sharing her apartment with him. But he was sure she would agree to that since she probably would much rather live with just one person than with seven.
"Not if I have a twisted ankle."
"I didn't twist your ankle though..."
She may have slipped but she most definitely did not twist his ankle. She would have been limping if she had but she had been able to walk into the shower on her own just fine.
"It's called acting, ever heard of it? It's basically the same thing that we did earlier back at the clinic when we reenacted the fall."
"I know what acting is but I'm not sure I'll be able to pull it off, it would be me doing the acting after all."
It almost seemed to Abby that she got the short end of the stick in all this. She was the one that was going to have to do most of the work after all.
"You'll do fine. All you'll have to do is call the manager, tell him you twisted your ankle and had to go check it out. Say that they put a cast on and that you're going to have to use crutches. But make sure to say that it will only take two weeks to heal and that you'll be staying with your parents during the time it heals."
"And will you be staying with your parents? And why two weeks? Can't you make it longer?"
"I obviously can't stay with my parents, at least not in your body. You also probably wouldn't want to be living with two strangers. And it could only really be two weeks because like I said before, the group will be having a comeback. I can't skip out on promotions."
"So if I'm not going to stay at your dorms and neither with your parents...but you also can't with my body then...does that mean your implying we both stay at my apartment?"
"Yes. If that's okay with you that is. So what do you say, be my roomie?"
Abby didn't really have to think about it much since she knew it was probably going to be the best solution they could come up with.
"Fine. I'll play the part of an injured idol and we'll both live here for the two weeks."
Cain hadn't noticed that his fingertips had started to wrinkle and that they were starting to feel more like raisins than fingers. They were still in the shower and had just had a whole conversation while they were scrubbing each other. Abby had probably scrubbed him more than he had done to her though. He wondered if she thought it were okay to get out, the shower had been much longer than his usual ones. He felt he had to steer the conversation in another direction just so that they could get out.
"You still haven't answered my question."
"What question?"
"The date. Netflix. Popcorn. If you don't have popcorn it's fine. We can still watch a movie without them."
Abby couldn't believe that Cain would actually call such a thing a date. She knew he wasn't really asking her out on a date date but his words had caught her by surprise. She couldn't believe her bias actually wanted to watch a movie with her. She wondered what kind of movies he liked.
"I have popcorn and I'm fine with a movie but I want you to pick it."
"Why is that? I thought everyone usually fought over picking what movie to watch."
At least everyone in Adam did. And it was usually either Joel or Josiah that got their way. They had never watched a movie he picked, this would be a first for him. He didn't even know what kind of movies he liked anymore since for years he had been forced to watch whatever others wanted to watch.
"I want to know what kind of movies you like."
Cain was glad to hear that she wanted to know more about him, even if it was something as trivial as what movies he liked. It meant she had some interest in him.
In the end it had been harder for them to get into new clothes than it had been for them to get into the shower. They probably took a good half hour just to figure out how to change. But it was Abby that had the most trouble since she only had small clothes, none of which would actually fit on Cain's body. He was too tall and she was too skinny. The only thing she managed to fit into was a llama one piece and that was only because it's was a "one size" which meant most people could fit into it. The one piece actually fit Cain's body perfectly but it would have probably been too big on Abby's body.
"Where did you get that one piece?"
He actually liked how it looked on him. One of the nicknames he had been given by fans was drama llama and that had been the reason why Abby bought the one piece in the first place even though it was going to be too big on her, it had reminded her of Cain.
"Why do you ask? Do you like it? You can have it if you want. It looks good on you and it also matches your nickname."
"Are you sure I can have it?"
"Consider it a fan's gift."
Abby smiled and Cain could feel his heart beating faster. It had been a while since someone had caused that effect on him.
Once they were both changed and in the living room, Cain gave Abby his phone. She was going to have to call the manager before the manager actually called him and yelled at him for not being at the dorms.
"What do you want me to say exactly? Like word by word."
Abby was probably almost as nervous about the phone call as she had been about the shower. It was going to be her first time to actually have to act as Cain after all. The clinic hadn't really counted because there had been no one there that really knew Cain, at least not personally. But she was going to call his manager, someone that knew him probably just as much as his group members did. What if she didn't fool him? What if he found out she really wasn't him? She had his voice but she didn't know in what manner Cain usually spoke to his manager. She didn't know how he would say things.
"Do you have paper and a pen?"
Cain thought that perhaps by writing out what she had to say would help her.
"Of course. What do you want them for?"
"Well all actors have scripts, don't they? I'll write yours and you just follow the script."
The idea sounded good to her but there was one flaw she could think of, he wouldn't be able to predict what his manager would say. Because of course the manager was going to have to respond back to her and in turn she too would have to respond to him.
Cain had just finished writing what it was that he wanted her to say. Abby read it out loud and tried to rehearse it several times and in different ways. Because there are different ways to say things, she had to make sure she was going to actually say it the same way Cain would have.
"So which one sounded more like you?"
She needed his approval since the "character" she was portraying was him. And if she was going to be the actor, he needed to be her director.
"Go with the fourth. That one sounded more like me. And don't worry about what you'll have to say after that. I'll have the paper and pen ready so if you just put the call on speaker then I'll write what to respond to the manager."
Cain saw how nervous she seemed and he wanted to make things as easy as possible for her.
The call had gone well and the manager had believed them. The manager did not however have the final word in whether or not he was going to be allowed to take the two weeks off, that was up to EVE. But at least the manager was going to be able to talk to the upper ups and try to convince them of why he needed the two weeks off.
His manager was good at convincing people so Cain was sure he was going to be able to get him the two weeks he needed. All that was left to do before they started watching a movie was to return the car to his mom. But seeing how Abby had been nervous just by having to make a phone call to his manager, meeting with his mom would probably make her even more nervous. His mom was also a hugger and a kisser, Abby would not like that.
Cain texted his mom to tell her she could pick up the car from Abby's apartment. He had to tell her that it was in the parking lot outside his friend's apartment. His mom had an extra key to the car and he was sure his dad would be able to drive her there to get the car. His mom replied almost immediately to his text, she said it was fine. All she asked of him was to take care of the car keys and to not lose them.
Since everything seemed to be taken care of, they were finally free to browse through the movies on Netflix. Abby started squealing once he got to a particular movie. Cain had gone through many movies since he hadn't known what to watch but this was the first movie that had gotten a reaction from her. He had wanted to pick something she would like but he didn't know her enough to know all her likes and dislikes. It turned out that the movie Abby had been squealing over was an animated cat movie called A Whisker Away.
"Do you perhaps like cats?"
If she did it would explain why she had been squealing. Cain was more of a dog person but that was mostly because he was allergic to cat fur. The only cat he could really own was one of those naked mole rat looking cats and those were ugly to him. But if Abby did like cats then he was sure that she would get along well with Lucas since he loved cats and even had three of them.
"I do! They are so cute! I've actually been thinking of getting one. I used to have a Russian Blue and a Bengal but we had to leave them in California when we moved here."
"So you're from the US? I thought you were from Latin America."
He didn't want to sound rude but she did look Latina, she had tan skin and brown eyes. He knew that Latinos also lived in the US but he just assumed that she was from another country that was more exotic.
"Well I was born in the US but I do have Latino blood in me, my parents are from Mexico."
Abby was the first Mexican-American Cain had ever met. He thought it was cool that more foreigners were starting to live in Korea because it made their country more diverse just like other countries were.
"Are you sure you're fine with watching a cartoon about a cat?"
Abby had never thought of Cain as a cat person. She knew he was allergic to their fur and that he owned a dog instead so she thought that perhaps he wouldn't like such a movie and yet he had already started to play it.
"I actually enjoy watching animated movies so the movie is fine with me."
Cain took a handful of popcorn and put them in his mouth but then he realized that he wasn't in his body. He hadn't stopped to consider if Abby would mind him eating as much as he usually did. She was skinny after all so he thought that perhaps she took care of her figure and wouldn't like it if she gained weight.
"Is it okay for me to eat?"
He wanted to make sure so he asked. If she said it wasn't then he was going to stop and follow whatever diet she normally did. They were going to be living together after all, she could just tell him what to eat.
"Of course it is, why wouldn't it?"
"Uh...Well you're very thin? Do you perhaps diet or exercise?"
If she said she exercised then he would too. He wasn't going to change any of her routines just because he was in her body.
"I neither diet or exercise. As a Mexican you are forced to eat all kinds of foods and especially more so in my case since my parents own a restaurant so there is no room for a diet. My mom would always have me try the new recipes she came up with. I've also never been much active as I am usually too lazy and my job is one that is sedentary."
"So you just eat whatever and still stay thin?"
"I guess. I've always been like this. I've never really been able to gain much weight even when I tried. So just go ahead and eat whatever you usually would and don't worry about it. Is there any special type of diet I should follow? Any foods I should avoid? And should I exercise?"
Since he had asked her, Abby felt that it was right if she too asked him. She might have never dieted before but that didn't mean she couldn't. She knew that as an idol the chances of him being on a diet and an exercise routine were high and she had to be considerate of him just like he had been of her.
"Well mostly they just don't want us eating sugar so the popcorns you are eating now should be fine. But since we can't have sugar, we can only drink water. We do also exercise a couple of times a week but it's mostly weights we do. You don't have to do all that though, at least not while you're still living here at your apartment. It's not like they'll actually know if I'm not dieting or exercising."
He felt bad having Abby do all that when he didn't even have to diet or exercise for her. She was already going to have to do a lot for him and yet she hadn't even told him a single thing he would have to do for her other than to shower which was something he usually did.
"Well exercising may be a bit harder for me to do, especially if it's weights but I'm sure your body can handle them. I would just have to invest some time out of my day to do so. And I've always wanted to try dieting. I do like challenges after all, at least ones I think I can actually do. So it should be fun."
Abby didn't even need to lie about that. She really did mean what she said. And if doing all that was for Cain's benefit then all the more she wanted to do it.
It had been a week of aches, pains and stiffness but the swelling was something new. Cain looked at his hands, Abby's hands and then at the peanut butter and jelly sandwich he had taken a bite from. The first thing that came to his mind was an allergic reaction. It was the first time since he was in Abby's body that he had eaten something with peanuts. She hadn't told him anything about her having an allergy to them but there was nothing else that could explain the swelling. Not only would the swelling affect him in doing his job but he had also woken up with extreme fatigue that morning. The feeling was almost like when a flu was coming but worse.Already changed and ready to leave for the e.Lee Cosmetics photoshoot, Cain started walking towards the bedroom to grab his phone but even just going a few more steps felt like too much. Feeling sluggish, he could no longer go on and stopped to lay on the couch. Laying made him feel the symptoms even more but just get
Carrying someone the size of Joel was no easy feat for Cain, especially since Abby's body was a lot smaller than his own. He had managed to carry Abby halfway up the staircase but it was then that she started kicking him and telling him to let her go. His back had already been hurting from all the weight it was carrying but her kicking only made it worse since he had to bend down even more just to avoid her kicks. He was near the top when he could no longer carry her. Had it not been for Abel that was there to catch them, they would have most likely fallen down the stairs and because of that Cain felt grateful."How much did she drink?"Abel who had been staring out the window all night had seen when two figures came out of a taxi. As soon as he realized that it was Abby and Cain, he hurried down the stairs with a blanket in hand."3 cans of soju and 3 shots of tequila."Covering Abby with the blanke
<Hey mom. I just wanted to let you know that I have a friend over at my apartment. He's Korean and doesn't know English.>The last thing Abby wanted to do was to end up surprising her mom with a stranger in her apartment. She thought it was for the best to let her know ahead of time, even if it was through a text. It had been weeks since she had actually talked to her mom on the phone.<HE? It's a guy?!>It was just like her mom to only notice the word "he" and then go all crazy about it. Almost 7 years of a daughter not dating would do that to any mother. And the fact that Abby was just one year away from being 30 only made matters worse.<Yes mom. Now please don't make such a big deal like you did with Cain. Joel is only a friend.><No boy in front of that friend?"<NO.><Well it doesn't matter. You'll prob
They had returned back to the dorms and once more Abby had to get adjusted to being called by a different name and not only her but Joel as well. Since they weren't practicing but had the day off, all of the members were at the dorms. Normally on their days off they would go see their families but since half of them were sick, they couldn't. And since both Abby and Joel weren't sick, they were expected to take care of the members that were. The sick members would call out to them but instead of Abby responding to Joel's name, she responded to Cain's. And instead of Joel responding to Cain's name, he responded to his own name. It had the members confused as to what was going on with the two but they would both just laugh it off and say they had just heard wrong."It would be so much easier if all the members just knew."Joel heaved a sigh as he sat down next to Abby. He had just finished helping Seth hang up lights he had bought for their roo
The next morning Abby woke up in an unfamiliar bedroom. She knew as soon as she opened her eyes since the ceiling appeared to be much closer to her, it meant she was higher up off the ground. Looking down, she saw Eli sleeping. Then looking to the side of the room there was a single bed with a sleeping Seth. It was obvious that she was in one of the other bedrooms. And considering how it was the room of the members that hadn't been sick, Abby thought that perhaps Abel had somehow carried her there. He had mentioned to her before about how they could switch up rooms so that she wouldn't have to be with him since he was sick.Looking at the alarm clock on the nightstand, Abby saw that it was 10 minutes till the alarm would go off. Having woken up because she needed to go to the bathroom, she climbed down the bunk bed's ladder. She noticed that her legs didn't seem as long and that her arms seemed more muscular but ignored those things thinking it was just her mind
It wasn't Abel's snoring that had kept Abby up that night but instead it was what she had heard him say before he got into bed. Had anyone else told her that Cain liked her, she wouldn't have believed it. But Abel had sounded so certain when he said those things. There was no doubt in his words and yet she wanted to doubt them. She didn't want another person liking her. But just like she had analyzed Abel's words and actions, she analyzed Cain's as well. She remembered a saying that her sister once told her many years ago, "A guy is only ever that nice and caring to a girl when he likes her." Abby was barely in the 7th grade when her sister told her this. And her sister being 11 years older than her and with more experience had of course been right. Because that saying had turned out to be true when a month later Abby's best friend Brandon confessed to her.All that time she thought her best guy friend waking up early so he could walk
