Chapter 2: Unwanted

I was just staring at the mirror inside this wash room, waiting for my friend. This is where we always go after class, well all because of Kia.

Staring at my own reflection makes me think about how I look like. I am nothing without my glasses. I have lots of pimples, yes? That's because I always slept late at night, studying and reading books, pale lips, because I am not fond of lips tick and lip tint. I don't like cosmetics, I'm really allergic to them---but I can use some.

I don't have braces, I am not like those typical nerds wearing nerdy outfits, I was just old-fashioned and chained in my Aunt's tradition. My knees won't tremble and my voice won't shake when I am speaking, I also don't look down when I'm talking.

“You know what Mavis? You're beautiful, you just don't want to have your makeover, you're not ugly, people are just judgemental over what they see.” I chuckle after she said that, I put on my glasses as I look at her.

“I don't have time for that things, this is me and I feel like if I am going to change the way I dressed, I feel like I am changing the whole me.” You're a good liar Mavis, I feel sorry for Kia.

“Indeed, just like what they say embrace your own beauty. It's just that your beauty was hidden by you.” I laugh a little as I fixed my books and hugged it like I was afraid to lose it.

“Are you going home already?”

“I'll visit Aunt Ysabella first.” We are talking while walking, and this seems more comfortable than eyeing those students who was looking at me with a disgust on their faces.

“How was your first day with him?” I know what she was talking about, by that. She whispers, to make sure it's just between the two of us. I shrug my shoulder, don't know what the exact word to describe that first day we live in the same house as husband and wife.

“It was like nothing,”

“I just can't understand why---” she doesn't have the chance to be able to finish what she was saying when someone approached her.

“Oh? You're best friend?” He looked at me from head to toe, This gay is getting' into my nerve. He even gave me fake smile.

“H-hello! You're cute wearing that---that you know, is that the new trend?” Is that a compliment? Or insult?

“Yeah, you liked it? I can be your stylist.” I faked my smile too, that really makes him frown.

“We'll go ahead, I'll just pass it on SC office tomorrow.”

“Sure kiara, bye! And bye Miss stylist.” His lips even twisted Tss! This is what I hate about them, they don't need to pretend they like me, I don't need that. I'd better hear them says insulting words, and becomes blunt in front of me than to pretend they like me when in fact they don't.

“Is there anyone who will pick you up this time?”

“Yeah, our driver he's on the way now,”

“I'll wait for you to leave first.”

“Woah, I'm so touched Mav! Thank you” I just smiled at her when she even hugged me. I just want to make sure she's safe.

Like what I said, I waited for their car to arrive and watch her leave.

After that, I call for a cab and gave my Aunt's address. The place where too quite, like there's no one inside. But I know Aunt was just inside, and I am right... I just can't here the sound from her cassette that makes me think she's not home.

“Aunt, “ she turned her face to face me.

“God bless you Mavis, what brought you here?”

“I just missed you aunt.”

“You have your husband now my dear, you should go home early and cook for him.” I was stunned for what she said, something warmed my heart because of that thought. Cooking for him and waiting for him to go home like a real wife.

“A minute aunt, I just want to stay here for a while with you. Just misses my first home.”

I stayed there for half of hour before I decided to leave. Silence was all over me, while walking until Drei's house where I am now living. I was half-way and almost there when I saw a guy near Drei's house, my movement lowered down as I watch that guy staring exactly at Drei's house, like he was thinking something, bad or not I don't know. I just feel something strange, I can sense danger.

Who is he and what does he want?

Why is he staring at my husband's house?

When he accidentally saw me, he immediately put on his sunglasses and ride off his motor bike and drive off.

With my brows shut, I started to formulate assumptions in my mind. That guy is up to something, and if it's about Draven... Should I be bothered?

I have a hunch, that guy is connected on that syndicate, he's definitely spying Drei.

Standing in front of the gate for a minute is what I did, before I choose to walk inside. I saw Draven's car, so I assumed he's already home, and I am right.

I found him reading his book in calculus with a cup of coffee on his other hand sipping on it, while his eyes still glued on his book.

“Good afternoon Drei.” I greeted him, with my calm and soft voice. He never dares to look at me, and I know I have no say about it. I need to endure his cold treatment.

“Are you hungry? I'll make you snacks.”

“No need,” he coldly said that makes my lips pressed hard, controlling myself from saying something I might regret after.

Even if he turned down my suggestion of making him snacks, I still made him one before I walked inside my room and took a shower, I just wear something I am really comfortable at, over size shirt and short, I tied my hair up and put on my glasses before I walked down to cook for our dinner.

“Drei let's eat? I've already cooked dinner,” I called for him, but he definitely ignored me, he chooses to climb upstairs, leaving me no choice but to eat alone. I felt unease with the thought that he's still not eating dinner, so I prepared him his food before I bring it inside of his room.

“Drei you're still not yet eaten dinner, come on eat first please.”

“Stop acting like you're really my wife, Mavis. Cause it was just a paper so stop doing your bullshits! I'll eat when I want so get the fuck out!” Irritation crosses his face that made me stepped back a little. It feels like I was a pest, like he didn't want me. He never wanted me, and he makes me feel that it was a suicide for him to breath in the same air with me. I get it, he's mad, still blaming me, and he really hates me.

“I just want to-”

“I said get the fuck out!” He tried to push me out, the reason why the broth spill out on my feet, I screamed in pain as my tears started to blur my vision, I bit my lips to forbid a moan trying to escape. This is my fault, and I deserved this, to feel so unwanted.

Defeated and hurt, I went back in the kitchen. I just left food in the table in case he gets hungry. I also left note and wash the dishes first and checked the lock of our main door before I went off my room to finish my plates.

I need to finish it before the deadline, cause I'm sure Sir Gab will keep on asking me about it.

In the middle of working on my plates, my phone vibrated, I immediately took it to see who messaged me at this our, aside from the fact that it was important.

'10 pm, west rosewood, bldg.2 (179) xygoMt8'

My pencil fell off the floor causing an unpleasant sound, echoed inside my room, My eyes darted on the screen of my phone with my brows shut on that messages.

'I am counting on you Red'.
