Not over yet

With rattling breath, I tried to calm myself down. We'd already done almost all of them and that in less than a quarter of an hour. Most of them were dead and you could see that from me and the others. We were covered in blood and wounds, but everyone had already healed. So while we were standing here suddenly there was a high and high-pitched scream. It was only then that I realized that Nyria was not near me. And although this was the first time I heard this kind of scream, I knew immediately who it was from. Only a few minutes passed before she stood in the middle of the hall. Her top was torn, there was a long and incredibly deep cut in her abdominal wall and she was just soaked with all the blood. With her eyes she looked for me. She was trembling, could barely stand on her feet. The faster I had to react. I ran to her, pulled her into my arms and brushed the sweat-sticky hair from her forehead. She almost lost her balance. She allowed herself to be in my arms for a moment, then pushed me back and spoke in a loud voice to everyone present.   

“My powers are almost ineffective with Nereus. My mental abilities have no effect on him, his barrier is too strong. He can fight my black fire effortlessly with his heavenly defense and of course he is physically superior to me. I can not do this. One of you has to kill him. "

I pulled her back into my arms.

"We can do it. And for the wound he gave you, he'll get his punishment too," I growled in her ear.

"I can't stand on my feet much longer.", She breathed and leaned against my chest. Of course, Nereus had perfect timing, because he was also in the hall. The first thing that happened was that everyone stood around us. Protective, which gave me the opportunity, Nyria put my bloody finger to her lips. 

“Here, my blood. You can't get back on your feet fast enough on your own. ”I said softly. My eyes kept flickering back to Nereus. He could not see Nyria, thank the Lord. Now he had to fight with Ezekiel and the others. Nyria put my finger in her mouth and licked it off. It took a few minutes, then the cut in her stomach had closed somewhat. She was fit again immediately.  

"Well then, let's go into the fight.", She mumbled and rushed forward. Smiling weakly, I followed her. 

Nereus roared as the black fire hit his shoulder from behind. He whirled around and saw Nyria grinning cheekily at him and waving at him. He rushed toward her with a low growl in his throat, but halfway his legs gave way. It had focused its black fire, which is why it now ate its way through his flesh, exposing both muscles and bones. Damn it, he cursed himself for underestimating this woman. He wasn't invulnerable, of course, but he never expected her to score that quickly. Maybe she was more powerful than he thought. The very fact that she could focus her black fire was more than unusual for a Nephilim. That Ezekiel was her forefather was now clearly noticeable. In general, the two seemed to get along well now, as they fought side by side and seemed to know each other's abilities well. Nyria laughed and danced towards him.   

"Now you don't think I'm too weak anymore, do you?" She mumbled and leaned over him. Nereus jumped up again and drew back with his bare fist. Nyria got involved in hand-to-hand combat and dealt instead of taking it. But then she was hit hard on the temple. She saw stars and flew through the air, then hit the ground hard and slid a few yards. Nobody had time to intervene. Nereus was standing in front of her again and also kicked her in the stomach again. She doubled over, choking. She spat blood and stomach acid and the pain of the old wound passed through her again. She cried out when Nereus kicked her again, this time in the kidney.  

"Die, you freak!" He roared, kicking her over and over. Zayn was already running towards her, but when the girl suddenly opened her eyes, every little noise fell silent. Nereus also paused and took a step back. She rose in such a fluid motion that it seemed like she hadn't been scratched. But the vast amounts of blood were evidence of the opposite. She wiped a trickle of blood from the corner of her mouth, but a hint of red remained on her skin. Blood ran down her temple too, but she didn't seem to mind there. She stared around with the eyes of a demon. Nereus stepped back. At the sight of her black eyes, a cold shiver ran through him that penetrated into his bones. Her ice-green eyes were a witness of the heavenly genes, but the black that now looked at them was the proof that their forefather had fallen and thus also had demonic genes. With a growl that came deep from her chest, she stepped towards Nereus. He was paralyzed with fear. She grabbed his throat with inhuman speed, just as he had done her earlier. She choked his breath and almost smiled when she saw his face run up and he desperately gasped for air. No living being could live without breathing. They didn't need his heart at all. You'd just have to rip his lungs out, that would be enough. Nyria threw him against a marble pillar, which then showed cracks and finally collapsed. Nyria let black energy flare up again in her hand, which she fired at him without hesitation. It hit his right leg. Immediately his tissue was eaten away there too, until only the bare shin bone was visible. Nereus whimpered. He had no strength left to fire his heavenly fire at her again. And his punches were now useless too. He couldn't even get his hands up anymore.     

“You're the bad guy here. Not me. ”, Nyria hissed and gave him back what he had given her earlier. Namely, countless kicks in the stomach and several punches in the face. First his nose broke, from which a thin trickle of blood was now running. Then it was also his jaw, which gave a frightening loud crack. Nereus whimpered again. Ezekiel came to her side and laughed, poking her in the side.  

"What do you think if we peel off his skin alive?"

An evil grin crept onto her full lips.

"This gives me an idea," she mumbled and licked her lips. She leaned forward until her face was not far from Nereus'. 

"You know what? We won't kill you yet. We're going to lock you up and strap you to a plate like you did to me earlier. And then we will torture you as punishment for what you did to all the angels and demons. "

She spat in his face, then, as she shrugged a knife and came closer and closer to his face, his eyes widened. Ice cold and without batting an eyelash, she cut out his tongue. His voice should never sound again! Blood splashed on her face and ran down her flawless skin. 

“We'll continue later. Take him somewhere where he can't escape. ", She said to Ezekiel. He smiled at her and nodded.

"I hardly think that he can escape in this state, but I will make sure that he is secured," he replied and grabbed the broken archangel by the collar. He made it into the human world through a simple magic formula. Zayn had watched everything with a blank face, now he turned to the rest of the archangels. They actually stayed out of it.  

"Now to you," he growled hoarsely and let the fire blaze in his hand. Nyria eyed him. What was he up to? Chests eyes also narrowed at the sight of the fallen. 

"The hierarchy of the archangels must be ended!" He growled, growing the fire in his hand. Chest and several other archangels rose angry and indignant.

"That will not do! I beg your pardon, should order be preserved in the kingdom of heaven? You know only too well that otherwise the chaos would spread here. "

Zayn stood in front of them. His voice had deepened, Nyria realized.

“There has to be another way. I want you all to give up your rank and instead choose a single one who will take care of all your tasks! "

The black in Nyria's eyes faded, instead the same old ice-green replaced it. Now she was half human again, half angel. It only took a fraction of a second, then she was with Zayn. 

"What are you doing?", She breathed and grabbed the arm that had already raised dangerously. The fire went out.

"It's over!" She said, looking up at him with wide eyes. But her husband shook his head. 

“No, it's not over yet. Not while the archangels are in power. "
