2020-09-08 14:09:45Qi Chen was about to speak again but stopped when a jade like hand gently pats his left shoulder. He immediately control his anger knowing that it is his wife Xi Hui.
"I see, you indeed have involvement to my daughter's mishap last year." Xi Hui smiles but everyone who knows her would definitely have goosebumps and feel more fear. Who doesn't know favorite granddaughter of Old General Xi? The Xi family although now not participating in politics nor war people still has to give them face as the Old General has been His Majesty's close friend and have saved the ruler's life few times. Xi Hui during her teens have been trained by the general despite being a female.
"Hui'er how is our daughter?"
"She's fine but still broken hearted she even said that if her cousin have just told her about Young Master Long's affection towards Fan'er then she would give way. Chen finally calms down and help Xi Hui to sit while he himself stand behind his wife, ready to take action if needed. After sitting, Xi Hui's expression became blank as if she came back to negotiate whose head will left their bodies.
"Patriach Qi, I am amazed by your family's actions and I am wondering, does Old Patriach Long know that the grandson he is so proud of is the mastermind of my daughter's assassination attempt? I bet not, now not only it'll ruin Fan'er future in Long Fu, it will greatly affect the relationship between Long and Qi clans if he does. "Xi Hui, my son and I aren't really aware of this if I was, I would have stop them!" Patriach Qi sternly state but his mind is in state of panic. If the truth spreads out and knowing how Old General Xi loves his great granddaughter and Xi Hui, the retired general would definitely smash Qi and Long Fu until they turn to ashes.
"Still in denial aren't we, Patriach? If I were you I will not continue that." Xi Hui glance at Fang Fei and Qi Chang then stops when she look straight in the eyes of Patriach Qi.
The patriach can feel his palms become sweaty and shivers. He knows he needs to control the situation and only give in to what his nephew and Xi Hui's demands. He knows that whatever it is, it won't end well for them.
"What...what do you want for this matter not to spread out?"
"Father we shou..." the first elder tries to intervene but stop when Patriach Qi looks at him, the old man didn't forget to glare at Fang Fei as she hides behind her husband.
"Just simple, sign this." Xi Hui glances at Chen, the latter walks near the Patriach and hands a scroll but didn't get back to his wife's side as he wants to get the scroll after the Patriach signed it.

As the patriach reads it the more grave his expressions become. "Chen'er, Hui'er let's talk this matter out we can't just separate..."
"It is either you sign it or we destroy you and your family, uncle." Chen states calmly but everyone can feel the sarcasm when he emphasizes the last word while Xi Hui smiles beautifully as if what she and her husband are talking about is just an insignificant matter before sipping from her tea cup.
"Chang'er get my stamp now." The first elder wants to protest although he do not know what's the content of the scroll he knows they are at loss and can't do anything to fight back.
The patriach can only do what the black bellied couple wants and just thinking how he is the one on losing side in this exchange he wants to slap Fang Fei to death and beat up Qi Chang for revealing the route that Xiuying takes whenever she visits Qian Temple. He really wasn't aware of the assassination until the deed was already done.
Chen immediately took the scroll the second the Patriach Qi's stamp is lifted and returns to his wife to help her stand up.
"Thank you Patriach and First Elder's family for this exchange, we won't stay any longer as we need to prepare for our departure.
What exchange?! This is extortion! This can't be called exchange at all!
