Chapter 9: Keep it in your Pants

last update publish date: 2020-08-30 06:49:45

When I was finally at her side, I leaned in toward her and turned my head in the same direction and found my eyes met with his… That's what she was looking at? I could see why she couldn’t take her eyes off him. It was the same guy from her memory. He looked even hotter in person!

I had to pinch myself to snap out of it. When I looked back at her she still had her mouth open just staring at him. I don’t like this. He ran his fingers through his auburn hair and smirked in her direction.

I narrowed my eyes at him and muttered, “Keep it in your pants, Don Juan.”

I stood back up and stared at her disapprovingly. She stared down at her hands and looked back up with blush filled cheeks. A little embarrassed she tried to look away. Her hands fumbled as she brought her phone out of her pocket. Willow took a deep sigh as she pulled up her images and began her analyzing process of the pictures that she must have taken earlier. Assuming they were shot before the bar got too crowded.

“Dave! I’ll have whatever Alice here is having.” He called out.

We both looked up to find him standing next to her as he gestured to Dave snapping repeatedly to get his attention. A quick rise of the eyebrow and I knew that she was going to give him shit. That was one thing she was good at.

She crossed her arms and leaned back into the chair as she grimaced, “Wow! I almost fell for it. But you ruined it with that rude mouth. Do you always snap at people like their servants or something? Because if you do, I recommend using those fingers for something productive like this!”

I began to beam knowing exactly what she was going to do. Her middle finger came up, she grabbed her drink and began walking away from him. I couldn't have been prouder! As I did a little happy clap, I began to follow close behind her. Suddenly, I felt an overwhelming sense of rage mixed with that same feeling of uneasiness. Where was that coming from?

Before I could think anything else, I watched as the douche passed through me. It was him that my feelings have been attuning to… But why? Apparently, he was really pissed off that she had flicked him off. I glared in his direction and questioned, “Not used to being rejected, buddy?” Of course, there was no answer. He just paused walking toward her as if changing his mind and then began walking faster toward her. Once he caught up to her, he plastered a fake smile on his face putting both hands up in surrender.

His smile turned condescending which made his perfect features that much more mesmerizing. This ass could probably sneeze and cause all women in the vicinity to implore him to take their tissue. Ugh, I hate guys like him. How could someone look so good and yet annoy me so much that I wished for nothing but harm to come to him. It seemed that Willow felt the same because as he took a step toward her, she answered by stepping back placing her hands on her hips. They were both standing in the middle of the dance floor in the middle of what looked like a standoff.

He was the first to break the silence as he screamed desperately over the music, “I’m sorry about before. The name is Quintin Dupree. What's yours?” A quick huff was her only response to him as she began tapping her feet in impatience.

His eyes looked down at her feet as he continued, “Is it Alice by chance? Justine? Cathy? Bella? Lucy? Come on I’m running out of names here.”

Shifting to her right leg, Willow asked him with nothing but acid in her voice, “Why would I tell you? You and your toxic personality can get lost. I’m not here for you. Even if I were here to meet someone you would definitely not be on that list.”

Just as she turned to walk away, he reached out to grab her by the wrist. Her body was pulled back toward him. I watched it as if it was a dance. There was so much grace in his movements as he spun her toward him until her face was snuggled into his chest.

He leaned into her and whispered, “I heard you were looking for me.”

Willow's eyes went up to his face as she tried to pull away from his unmoving grasp as he held her in place.

You could hear the struggle in her voice as she fought against him, “I don’t even know you creep. Get lost!”

“Really, are you sure? Because from what I hear you’re one of my biggest fans?” he stated with a mocking tone.

She looked up to him with her eyes wide in shock and then something in her flipped like a switch. He released her from his hold and a loud squeal escaped her lips. Before I knew it, she began jumping up and down. While I looked around in utter embarrassment.

The squeal was cut off as her eyes widened and she stated, “Augh! THE Alec Dunby? No way!”

She was looking at him almost like he was a freaking god. There was only one person that could cause that look in her eyes.

“I have like 12 of your paintings in my basement at home. You're like the reason I started painting when I was 10 years old!” Willow confessed.

The atmosphere coming from him shifted once again. He knew that he had her and was now feeling cocky. His hand came up as he tilted her head up to him.

All I could do was yell over the music, “No! Don’t fall for it Willow there is no way this guy is Alec Dunby. He’s just some playboy wannabe that’s playing with your emotions.”

Quintin began to slowly caress her cheek and Willow responded to his touch by closing her eyes and leaning into his touch.

When her eyes opened the blush had returned and she became a hot blubbering mess, “I-I know that it's a little late, but my name is Willow. It's so great to finally meet you. I am so sorry about earlier I was rude to you. Trust me when I say I am not normally like this. This is my first time at a place like this and I am just a little nervous”

His hands moved to her shoulder where he squeezed her gently as he attempted to soothe her, “That’s okay. I’m nervous too and I don’t normally come to places like this either.”

His eyes looked down at his feet and instantly I knew he was putting on a show. There was nothing real about this guy. I saw him begin fiddling with his left hand trying to make it seem like he was nervous. He must be really trying to sell it

“It's just not someplace you can go to really get to know a person. You're the first person I feel like I can really connect with you know? Not to mention how gorgeous you are. How did a guy like me get so lucky?” fake tone and all as he spoke.

She giggled at his comment and I knew that she 100 percent believed his every word. This guy was good.

Even though I knew it was a moot point to scream again I tried it anyway, “Get your filthy hands off of her you damn liar”.

I got straight up to his face, pointed a finger at him, “I see straight through your little games you little weasel,”

For a second, he looked down at him almost like he could see me but a second later looked away from me back toward her. Did he just look at me or was it just another coincidence?

Telling myself I had probably just imagined it I came to the realization of the truth. Tonight was going to end the same way it did that night.

A moment later he was looking into her eyes as he announced, “I’m going to go outside to grab some fresh air. I would hate to leave you all here by yourself. Would you like to join me? Maybe you and I can talk and get to know each other better?”

Her mouth fell open as if she were frozen in place. All she could bring herself to do was shake her head in agreement. I felt my anger begin to grow out of control and before I could stop myself, I began charging full force toward him. Again, nothing happened except me once again not making contact and falling to the floor. When I looked back up at them, he already had her hand in his and was leading her toward the back-service door.

If she were here to protect me, what was the harm in trusting her? After all, I had trusted Mrs. Tulle my whole life if she wanted to hurt me there were plenty of opportunities when we were alone together. Another reason was the blatant fact that I had no idea how to control or really use my powers. She on the other hand claimed she could help me get stronger which will give me the purpose I have always craved. Since as long as I can remember I had always allowed Willow to be in the spotlight while I followed quietly behind her. I could become someone powerful, someone, that can protect those that try to harm those I love. The best part was it would help me get Willow back and destroy Quintin all in one swoop. As if reading my mind, she cautioned, “

“Ding. Ding. Ding. That is correct. I am Mrs. Tulle, your 7th grade English teacher, Sky, and even your camp counselor Chelsea who helped you the first time you got you…” Sky confessed.Quickly, I cut her off and ran to cover her mouth as I screamed, “Okay, I get it! The thing that I just can’t seem to understand is why?” She grasped my hand and pulled it down to my side as she answered, “My real name is Charity Millicent and my main power is body transference which is why I can be many different people without using too much energy. I could see that she was now growing anxious as she blurted, “What are we doing out here?” He was looking down the alley and not paying attention to her. “Don’t get me wrong. I trust you it's just I’m not that experienced so I don’t really do this kind of thing. I have never even had a boyfriend before so let's just say that I have yet to have my first kiss.” She said with nothing but embarrassment in her voice. Gosh, this girl could talk a lot. I began to tune her out

It was the funniest thing I had witnessed all night and I was loving every minute of it. “Hello, Beautiful. The name’s Quintin and who do I have the pleasure of speaking with tonight?” he beamed at her as he handed her another Mai Tai that was the exact copy of what she was already drinking. As she turned to look at him, that was when I noticed the familiarity. I knew her from somewhere but where.A big smile spread across her face as she snorted, “You’

When I made it to Ellis Sanitarium, I was reminded that It was family day. I have no idea how that managed to slip my mind but here we are. A rare occurrence every month but I knew that Willow’s parents would not be coming either way. They had both called me last night on speaker before bed to ask that I go in place of them since they had to go out of town for business. If I was being honest, I knew the real reason was that they just couldn’t bear to see her like that. Since she had been hospitalized, I had not once seen them come visit her. They didn’t realize how much that affected Willow leaving her hopeful every day that one day they would make time to visit her. She doesn’t talk to me about it, but I know Willow and how close she is with her parents they tell each other abso

Saturday morning, I woke up to the sun shining in through the window. I squinted as my eyes attempted to adjust to the light as it lit up my entire bedroom. My fingers rubbed against my eyelids in another attempt to make my overwhelming sleepiness go away. The heaviness my whole body felt continued as I sat up on the edge of the bed tucking my feet into my Pink furry slippers. Taking more time than normal getting ready in the restroom I washed my face, brushed my teeth, and started getting ready for the day. It was then that I started remembering last night. I had to tell Willow what I had seen right away! Excitedly, I ran down the steps, grabbed my purse, and went to the kitchen to grab a breakfast bar from the cupboard. Once it was safely tucked in my bag, I checked the bus schedule on my phone and he
