Chapter 4

------Emma's PoV------

"You-" He speaks, in a dangerously impatient voice, closing the distance between us and making his grip even more tight around my arms. 

"Say that you'll obey me." He utters in the same dangerous voice.

I stay quiet, focusing more on the pain in my arms and the back.

"SAY IT!" He shouts while shaking me and God, he will break my arms now.

"No, I won't obey everything you'll say." I spat. Oh no!

I look up and see him clenching his jaw, the next moment he carelessly pushes me which makes my balance wobble and I fall on the ground. 

My hand involuntarily wanders to my arms. I'm not able to feel anything in this area right now. 

Such a heartless monster he is. 

"You will obey me, human."

"NOW, GET OUT!" He shouts, almost deafening my ears.

This man is the accurate definition of craziness. 

I stand up from the ground. I smoothen my clothes and without taking a glance at him, I leave his room.

The moment I step out of his room, an invisible strong force pushes me, making me fall on the ground again.

"Why is everyone pushing me today?" I said in frustration. I just fell a few seconds ago.

"I'm so sorry, I didn't see you." I hear a masculine voice.

I look above and see a man standing in front of me. He has red eyes.

I stand up from my place.

"It's fine." I speak while smoothening my clothes, this time a little too harshly.

"Royal Jacob." I hear a familiar feminine voice coming from my left. I turn my head and see the same woman.

"Miranda," Jacob says, with a smile, looking at her. He has a charming smile.

"Miss Emma, you're ready for the Palace tour?" She asks looking at me.

Well I'm having second thoughts regarding this job, some creatures are not less than crazy here. It's not even the first day and look what he did to me!

But not everyone gets a Palace tour so I nodded with a smile.

"You're the new Manager?" Jacob asks looking at me while a smile wanders on his face.

"Yup." I speak with a toothed smile.

"That's cool." He says and disappears.

"Let's go." She walks past me and I follow her.

We walk through the same corridor and she stops in front of a door.

"Let's go in." She speaks, heading in the room.

 The first thing I see as I enter in the room is a huge window opposite the wall of the door. I look around, a large bed is placed in the middle with a side table attached to it.

A large cupboard on the right side of the door. And a door extending towards the middle of the right, opposite to the bed.

That might be the bathroom. 

Overall, this room is simple and beautiful. 

"This will be your room. You can come here whenever you want to." Miranda speaks.

Ohh…

"You like it?" Miranda asks.

"Yeah!" I said looking at her with a genuine smile on my face.

I actually love it. It's lovely but the walls look lifeless. I will make it perfect soon.

'You are not living here forever.' We don't even live forever, so let's do the things we love, till we are alive. 

"Now, let's move ahead." Miranda speaks going out of the room.

I place my purse on the table attached to the bed and follow her.

"And here, the last thing you need to see." I see an ancient-like door in front of me. It's all black and towering. So many huge marks are on it. Notches of some sharp thing, sword maybe.

A massive lock is lept on it with a huge iron chain sealing it.

Well, It took us almost two hours to see each and every corner of this place.

We met the servants first of all. They are all disciplined and look nice. 

'Note the word. Look.' Some of them do seem, that they aren't happy with the new manager but they all will get used to me soon. I noticed some of them are artificial vampires but that's no problem for me. 

And about the previous manager, she was a pain in the ass. Miranda told me that she never really took her job seriously, for all the time she was here, she only tried to sneak into King's pants. 'Can't blame her, he is devilishly hot.'

Now, talking about the Palace, there are a total of sixty-six rooms. Except that huge ball room, which is the ground floor, and the parking lot, which is underground, there are two more floors. 

And besides the twenty two rooms which are occupied by the royals, all other rooms are just for the show with every lavish thing thrown at the right place. Live example of wastage of money.

I can tour the world fifteen times or maybe even more, if I've got that much notes.

"Dungeons." I hear Miranda. Huh? 

I follow where her eyes are fixed. This huge door gives me goosebumps, so mysterious yet tempting. 

"Is there someone in?" I ask after a while.

She looks at me and turns her head back to the door. Her face is reflecting  a very serious expression. 

"Yeah." She says.

"Who? Are they dangerous?" I ask, my eyes glued to the door. 

"They are dangerous." She replies.

I was about to ask her something but she spoke before. 

"I have to go. Royal Jack is calling me."

"What? How do you know?" 

"He said in my brain." She speaks hurriedly and walks away.

What else can these vamps do? They can disappear in a split second, they can speak in anyone's brain. I wonder if they can read our thoughts as well!?

I turn my gaze back to the door. I take a few steps towards it. How big the lock's key hole is, bigger than my hand.

I look above to paste the full view of this door in my head.

"What are you doing?" I gasped in shock.

I promptly turn around to get hit by a wall with buttons on it. Buttons? 'Not a wall.'

I take a step back and look above to see the King's irritated face.

"What are you doing here, at the Dungeons?" He said louder than before, annoyance is evident in his voice.

What type of man he is!? Always angry and irritated.

"This is the last place of my Palace tour." I speak looking back at the door.

"Don't come anywhere near this area." He said.

"Why?" I ask looking at him. 

"Because I say so." He spatted looking at me.

"Now move." He speaks again.

I move aside. 

"LEAVE, human." He shouts at me.

I did what he said. I have no interest in standing there and getting scolded by him. And most importantly, if I want this job to go smooth, I need to stay away from that vampire as much as possible. 

But what could be behind those huge doors? I will find out one day.
