Another chance

Amelia's Pov

"Good morning mom, good morning dad" I said as I trotted down the stairs.

My dad was sitting by the kitchen table  reading a newspaper and drinking coffee whilst my mom was washing the dishes.

"Good morning honey." They both said randomly.

I walked to my little brother, Johnny, who was also sitting by the kitchen table munching down his breakfast. 
I pinched his cheek softly, " Hey small brother"

He swayed my hand from the side of his face and looked at me with a scowl on his face, "I'm not a baby, I'm just seven. Greet me in the same way you greet mom and dad."

My brother is sweet, funny but can also be annoying.

"Oh, but Johnny, you don't greet her like that." my mother said interrupting.

"That's because she still talks to herself."

Oh oh

Does he listen to me talking to myself?

"No I don't speak to myself" I denied.

"Peharps you have forgotten. Let me remind you. Remember the other time when you talking to yourself about how you have never hugged-"

And that's the annoying part.

"Um-uh, Johnny you're going to be late for school, common get up the bus will soon be here." I hastily said has i put his school bag on his back.

"Oh, its a secret, don't worry I won't tell." Then he winked at me.

My face was red with embarrassment, and my arms were folded. "Go... go, your school bus must be here now."

That was close, he almost shared one of my most embarrassing secrets.

My mom and dad laughed."Looks like you two are now keeping secrets, don't you want to tell us? " 
My father joked.

"I'm going to be late for school, I better get going." I said dismissing his question.

"Aren't you going to have breakfast darling?" my mom asked.

I grabbed a banana. "I'll just have a banana, bye." and with that I was out the door.

Yes, it was finally Thursday, the day before the dance auditions. Belle still believes that I'm the worst dancer she has ever laid her eyes on, so I asked her to teach me any dance moves she knew, and to my surprise, she agreed, but that would only be after she is done with cheer practice which is after school. The good thing is that the practice is only half an hour, so I won't have to wait for long, also waiting for the practice to finish would always give me time to read my novels, so that's good.

Another day of school at Green Field High, l was walking down the hall to my locker and I managed to pass by the noticeboard. Passing by it simply made me remember the embarrassing incident I had with Federico that day.

Luckily for me, I haven't crossed paths with him since then. Kylie was being nice to me and I didn't need any trouble from her concerning Federico. To be honest, what Belle said to me a few days back got me thinking and a bit worried.

But if I'm not in any relation to Federico, then I guess there's nothing to worry about. I eventually reached my locker, grabbed my books and was ready for the first lesson of the day.

Freddy's Pov

"Freddy, may I have a word with you?" My physics teacher, Miss Heather called me as students started fleeing the classroom as the break-time bell had gone.

My plan was to be the first one out of class because I kind of knew that she was going to call me, but sadly my plan failed. I stopped dead in my tracks and whisper cursed under my breath before turning to her to say,  "Yes miss Heather."

I walked over  to her desk with a defeated expression on my face. She pointed to the chair behind me and said, "Take a seat." After I did that, she  removed her glasses from her eyes before clearing her throat. "Freddy, you are the only one in this class that hasn't handed in the physics assignment I gave you two days ago. Did you know the deadline was today?"

"Yeah, I did" I answered.

"So why didn't you submit your work?," she paused for a while waiting for me to respond, when I didn't she continued, "I didn't expect this from you, I really thought you had good interest in this subject."

"I do ma'am." I replied with a sorry looking face.

It was true. From all the other subjects I did, Physics was my favorite, I just had this passion for it.

"Is there anything that you would like me to know? If there's something disturbing you from doing your physics work, then it must be serious."

Over the past few days, I have been stressed with all the threats from my father saying that he would get married to his girlfriend soon. Of course I couldn't tell my mom about it, I didn't want to stress her at all.

"No actually., the thing is..." No, I wasn't going to tell her, I was not the type to share my problems with anyone. "Look ma'am, please just give me a chance, I promise I'll submit the work as soon as possible." I pleaded.

She looked at  me with sympathy in her eyes before saying, "You know, I don't normally do this, but because you are a good physics student, I will give you a chance."

"Yes!, thank you miss Heather" I said in excitement as I jumped off my chair.

"I want that assignment first thing in the morning."

"You won't be disappointed" I replied as I walked out the door.

Miss Heather, is a really nice lady. She's not the kind to get too mad when her work is not done and she's not overly strict, that's why I like her, she's probably the one who made me love physics. I'm glad that she gave me one more chance.

Amelia's Pov

Soon it was break-time and Belle and I were walking to the cafeteria. As  we were walking we saw the GGGs laughing and giggling, Kylie saw us and surprisingly left her group and walked towards us.

"Hi Amells, Belle. " she greeted. I was actually surprised that she almost got my name right.

"Hey you almost got my name right."

"Thanks, I've been practicing. I guess that's my new nickname for you" She smiled. "Anyways, I hope you haven't forgotten about the dance auditions."

"Of course not, I really can't wait."

"Great, see you after school tomorrow, bye." I wanted to ask where the auditions were going to be held, I didn't even know where the dance class was but she had already walked  away, I guess I would find out tomorrow.

I smiled at Belle and nudged her elbow. "You see, she's petty nice."

"I'm  still not buying it. Let's go get our food, I'm starving."

Freddy's Pov.

Soon school was over and soccer practice was about to begin. The boys and I were in the locker room changing into our practice attires.

" Coach really wants us to win this season, the exercises he's giving us are incredulous." One of my football teammates, Greg said.

"Yeah and today he said that the workouts are going to be extremely tough." Dan said.

"Look guys, if we really want to win this, we shouldn't be complaining, we have to put our hearts and minds into this."

"Yeah, you're right" everyone agreed reluctantly.

I raised my fist in the air and yelled, "For  Green field high"

Everybody joined me in excitement, " for Green field high" Suddenly my phone started ringing. Everybody started walking out the door and going to the field cheering 'for Green field high'. Dan looked at me, "Are you coming bro?" he asked.

"Yeah I'll be there, let me pick this call."

He went out the door, and I answered the call.

"Hey mom."

"Freddy... Freddy, come home quickly. Your father - he's he... here." She was sobbing, crying, what was going on there.

Sh*t

"I'll be there soon" I cut the phone call. I was suddenly very angry, what was he doing at my house? I hurriedly went through the door and rushed to my car. I was missing practice, but this was way much important.
