Incredulous trap

Amelia's Pov

I had woken up earlier than usual this morning, what could I say?, I was so excited about today. The day my dreams come true, well that is if I actually get to pass the auditions, and luckily for me I had a better chance of being accepted now. ( Belle told me that I was now 'less worse'. So I guess that's something, but she was probably over exaggerating.)

I bath quickly, extra ironed my clothes so they looked super neat, did my hair in a, pony tail my mom called 'cute' and was ready for school. Today was indeed a special day.

I waited for sometime before Belle appeared in her car in the driveway. "Common, hop in." She yelled.

I raced to her car and jumped right into the passenger seat. "Yellow. " I greeted beaming.

"Well someone is extremely excited today," she said as she started the engine. 
"I'm just glad you improved on your dancing." she continued. I just continued smiling, I was extremely giddy.

Soon we reached school and as we were walking down the hallway, we had someone call us. We turned to see Kylie walking towards us. "Hey guys." she greeted.

"Hi" Belle and I greeted back.

"Yeah so Amells I just wanted to tell you that the whole audition thing will be during the lunch break by the patio that is just before the cafeteria."

Belle gave her a suspicious look. "Umm... Why don't you have the dance auditions in a dance class," she said in an obvious-duhhh tone." Don't you think it would be weird having this whole audition thing in front of the cafeteria?" I nodded in agreement, Belle did have a point.

Kylie gave Belle an odd look before replying, I'm not sure why she looked at her like that but maybe it's because she just realized that she hadn't thought the whole thing through.

"Ohh," she suddenly giggled "No you see, we are trying to see if the people that really want to be part of my dance club are actually confident to dance in front of others. I mean part of being a dancer is preforming in front of an audience right?"

"Kylie, I'm not really sure if I can -" I started but she cut me off.

"No need to worry Amells," she put her hand on my shoulder. "I'm sure you can dance in front of a few people, don't forget that you are a wonderful dancer and btw, not everyone is going to be looking at you, I mean they will be too busy eating their lunch." she spoke so soothingly, I almost didn't feel scared anymore.

Keyword being almost.

"How do you know that she's a good dancer, Have you even ever seen her dance before?" Belle asked in the same dubious tone as before.

Kylie exhaled heavily as if she was annoyed, but I could comprehend, the questions Belle asked Kylie sounded as if she really thought Kylie was up to no good.

" Ohh darling Belle, "she forced a smile." Just from the way Amells looks I can tell she's a really great dancer."

"Ohh really" she said her tone full of sarcasm.

"Yeah really. Oh and Belle, have you bought the new pom poms, ribbons and all the new cheer-leading stuff yet?"

Belle looked at me before she looked back at Kylie, confusion was evident on her face. " When was I told to buy new cheer-leading stuff?"

"Didn't you know that coach was so inspired and happy by your determination and hard work towards cheer-leading so she appointed you as our knew Go-getter, which means you now have the privilege of getting us our new cheer-leading equipment. Coach said that you should've got some new equipment yesterday."

"But i didn't know anything about it."

"We had the discussion after practice yesterday, you had already left and I we sent you text on our cheer-leading group. Coach is probably expecting them for practice today. She's going to be really disappointed knowing that you didn't carry out your responsibilities."

" I didn't see any message, anyways I can't go now lessons are about to begin, I can only go during our lunch break."

"Yeah, I guess that works. Remind me to give you the money before you go, Umm... Coach gave me the money. I've gotta go guys see you later." she waved at us before she left.

"Wow, you are the new Go-getter" I said in excitement.

"I don't know Amelia, but you really have to be careful of this girl." she stated, she really doubted Kylies' intentions.

The bell rung.

Freddy's Pov

I arrived in school, got out of my car and started towards the field. Coach was definitely mad at me for missing practice yesterday, this term he had become really serious on making the green claws the best and he is not one for taking nonsense, what I could do now was to plead him to give me a second chance, I did have a solid reason for not being in attendance.

On approaching the field, i saw Dan and the rest of the team in their practice attire, they were doing their morning warm-ups.

I briefly scanned around the field but I couldn't find coach. Dan saw me and walked up to me.

"Hey, dude where were you yesterday?" he asked.

" I was just handling something not much of a deal. Where is coach?" I asked changing subjects. What i needed to do right now was talk to coach.

"Are you sure that you are fine bro?"

"Yeah, like I said no big deal. Where is coach?" I repeated my previous question.

"I think he's in his office." he answered.

"Thanks." I gave him a quick pat on his shoulder before I started running to coach's office.

...

"Come in" Mr Russell stated after I knocked the half closed door. As i entered the office, he looked up from his paper work and looked at me.

"Ahh Freddy, so you decided to show up today?" he was using that playful mocking tone of his.

"Sir, I'm really sorry. I had some issues to attend to, I promise that it won't happen again." I went right straight to the point.

His face turned serious, "Look, Freddy, I thought that as you being the quarterback of your team and the quarterback of the school, you had a huge responsibility to carry out. But it turns out that you are not passionate about football anymore."

"No sir, you have to understand that I really had something to attend to yesterday, I promise I won't miss practice again. Please sir just try to understand."

"I'm sorry, but there is nothing I can do about that. I've already found you a new a replacement. I'm sure you have lessons, bye."

"WHAT, new replacement," i said in disbelief. "sir please, just -"

"I said bye Federico." he retorted.

I walked out of his room, slightly banging the door shut. I was mad, disappointed and angry at the same time. Nothing could be worse than this.

OH NO

My first lesson was with miss Heather, and I did not do her work.

Dammit

Dad's 'visit' really screwed up things for me.

Just like yesterday I tried to escape the classroom by running immediately the bell rang, but again she stopped me.

"Freddy you can't be serious, I gave you a second chance and you-, excuse my language, - you just screwed it up."

"Ma'am, I really had to attend to something yesterday and I don't know how i just forgot even coach won't allow me back into the football team because I missed practice."

"ls there something you want to tell me?"she asked with so much concern in her eyes whilst she removed her glasses from her eyes, it's as if she wasn't angry at me anymore.

"No, it's not that big of a deal." i answered casually. I knew this was affecting me but I didn't need her or anyone's sympathy.

She exhaled deeply, she knew I wasn't going to budge. "Alright then, how about I let you off the hook but for one condition. My niece told me about this online program that helps you, by just getting to know someone that's different from you. What about you join it?"

"Thanks, but no thanks ma'am.I'm not really interested in getting to know a stranger through some online program."

"But my niece tells me it's really helpful, even her mom agrees. I think you might need it."

"No, I'm fine."

"What if I talk to your football coach for you? I tell him about how this program could help you in being a concentrated football player. If he agrees will you join?"

"I'll see."

"Okay, I'll talk to him, I will let you know his response by lunch."

Amelia's Pov

It was lunch time, the time for the auditions and I was feeling very scared and nervous. I just came out from the ladies room where I was talking to my mirror-self to encourage myself and develop some confidence.

I searched for Belle around but I couldn't find her, perhaps she had gone to buy the cheer-leading stuff already. I walked slowly and nervously to the patio. If Belle was here I'm sure I would have felt so much better. Soon I reached the patio and from were I was I could see that the cafeteria was already filled up, but the only people I could see in the patio were Kiley and her friends. Kylie was with Britney laughing over something as usual, but something about their laugh frightened me,it sounded a bit mischievous.

"Oh, hey honey." Kylie greeted as both her and Britney walked towards me. "You're here so I guess we can get started"

"But where are the others" I asked curiously.

"Probably running late, but don't worry about them, the only important people right now are we the judges and you." Brittney stated.

"I'm a bit scared, I don't know if I can dance with all these people around."

"Don't worry Amells, you're gonna be great" she replied, again with the mischievous tone.

I don't know why my brain started sensing mischieve in these girls but it was probably because I was just very nervous I needed to get this audition over with so I could feel normal again.

"Emma is over there with her laptop," she said as she pointed towards Emma. "go and tell her the song you want to dance to."

After that they went to go and seat by their table where they would judge from. I went to Emma and told her the song I wanted, Unstoppable by Sia.

"Oh and Amelia stand under the tree because there is shade there."Emma who was working with her laptop behind me said. I did as she said and the song started playing, even though I was in my comfortable dancing clothes I wasn't comfortable, I was extremely nervous and my heart beat was erratic. But there was no turning back now after coming this far so I started dancing.

I danced my heart out, I danced, I danced then the next minute

SPLASH

FOOSH

I was covered in eggs,flour and some brown stuff that smelled horrible.

Oh NO, what kind of horrible trap had I walked into?
