LOGINEvery time she walked into Jacob and Jenny, Stephanie could feel the tension between them and she wondered what caused it. “Good morning!” she greeted both of them when she entered the office.
“You’re late!” Jacob bellowed.
“It’s only two minutes, Jacob. Common, don’t be so harsh on Stefan,” Jenny defended Stefan and it made his cousin more furious than ever. She had no idea what’s wrong with him but since she joined the company, he has changed. He used to be sweet around her, but lately, she noticed that he’s different.
“A minute or two always matters for a businessman, Jen. And while we are at it, is there any progress at your mission?” He asked but it was to remind her that she wouldn’t be able to do anything just because she’s confident.
Jenny’s mood was ruined when he incorporated her mission into their discussion when they were just talking about his secretary! For two weeks, she didn’t do anything to convince more people because she was still mad at the insults she got from Brennan Lim. “I still have a lot of time to complete it,” she assured him.
Jacob smirked at his cousin for being overconfident. “If you say so. Anyway, Stefan and I will start working now. See you later at home,” he dismissed Jenny.
Jenny was already at the door when she decided to look back while hoping that Stefan would glance at her. Just a little smile from him would be enough for her to last a long day of working in the office. She sighed heavily when Stefan never bothered to look at her and focused on his job.
Jacob was talking to someone on the phone when Jenny returned and approached Stefan. His mouth gaped open when she made a bold move and kissed his secretary. “Jenny, what are you doing?” He bellowed as anger welled up in his chest but she didn’t answer and just left. When he looked at Stefan, his secretary was still in shock. “Are you okay?” He inquired.
Stephanie was stunned at Jenny’s action and she was confused. She knew that Jenny was a pro in flirting but she didn’t expect to be kissed like that! It was her first kiss for goodness sake and she was disappointed that it came from a woman. It disgusted her but she couldn’t voice out his frustration without revealing her true self!
“Stefan, are you okay?” Jacob repeated himself when Stefan failed to answer him.
“I don’t know,” she replied honestly.
“You must be shocked, but Jenny can be like that sometimes.” He explained.
“Hmmm it is okay, and you don’t have to explain it to me.” She said.
So it was okay for him! Hah, his nostrils flared as he looked away. “Did you like it?” Jacob clenched his jaw as he waited for his answer, but whatever his response may be, it shouldn’t bother him, right?
Did she like it? Of course not! Why would she like being kissed by a woman when she wanted to be kissed by a man? But how could she tell him that she felt disgusted when Jenny’s lips touched hers? How could she tell him that she would prefer his lips to touch her instead of his cousin?
“I’m not sure,” she replied as the tip of her fingers traced her bottom lip.
Jacob pulled a face as he stared at Stefan while tracing his lip. “I’ll be meeting an important person today so kindly cancel all my other appointments and rescheduled it tomorrow,” he ordered as he took off the suit he’s wearing.
“Right now?” She hadn’t eaten anything from home because she woke up late.
“Just stay here,” he stopped Stefan from standing up and following him.
“But I must be with you at all times,” she reasoned out.
“I’m in the mood to fuck my girlfriend now, Stefan. Are you still coming with me?” He lied about having a girlfriend but Stefan’s shocked expression satisfied his ego. “If I won’t be back until the afternoon, then it’s not a quickie and I’m sure that you know what I’m talking about.”
“I see,” she replied without showing to him how affected she was at the mention of a girlfriend. She was under the impression that he’s not dating anyone, but the information came straight from him. “Have fun then,” she added before she resumed working on something that Jacob assigned to him two days ago.
Angrily, Jacob stormed out of the office and a heavy thud echoed could be heard after he slammed the door. He was infuriated when Stefan traced his bottom lip as if he enjoyed the quick kiss that Jenny gave him. Speaking of his cousin, he couldn’t just leave the woman to be alone with Stefan.
Jacob entered her office unannounced and caught Jenny cursing someone on the phone. As he observed how her cheeks became crimson red, he could tell that she’s beyond furious, and only one person could make her so riled up.
“Is that Tanner on the other line?” He asked but at the same time, he snatched the phone from her hand and cursed at the man she’s talking with. He let out a deep breath after he realized that he’s taking out the anger he had for Stefan with Tanner. Well, that good for nothing bastard deserved all the cursed in the world after he ruined Jenny with his lies. “Come to the coffee shop beside Wolf Bank’s main office,” he said before ending the call.
Jenny was aghast at the complicated situation she was in. It wasn’t Tanner on the phone but someone else, but Jacob interfered and she knew she fucked up. “Why are you here, Jacob? Can’t you see I’m busy?”
“The bastard said he’s nearby and he will be at the coffee shop in five minutes. Common, let’s settle this once and for all.” Jacob grabbed Jenny’s hand when she hesitated to go with him.
Jenny was speechless as she and Jacob entered the dainty coffee shop. Her eyes scanned the crowd and her smile faded when Brennan waved his hand at her. “It wasn’t Tanner on the phone,” she said.
“What?” Jacob asked.
“I said it wasn’t Tanner on the phone but him,” she replied as she pointed the man sitting in one of the tables while enjoying a cup of brewed coffee.
Jacob looked around and saw Brennan Lim. He and Brennan attended the same university in college, and although they were not the best of friends, they knew each other as they moved in the same circle. “Are you saying that it was Brennan Lim on the phone?” he asked.
“Yes, do you know him?” Well, who wouldn’t know Brennan Lim? The man was always on the news for being a rule breaker but he was her number one prospect. Although he was rumored to be part of a gang, he was loaded, and he was the only person who didn’t cower at the presence of Philip Madrigal, a famous mafia leader in the country.
“He’s dangerous, Jenny. Go back to the office now and I’ll be the one to talk to him,” Jacob didn’t want his cousin to be involved with a man who was more questionable than her ex-boyfriend.
“No,” she refused to back down when it comes to Brennan Lim. The man stressed her out and she wanted to get even. “If you didn’t tell him to come here, anyway, you should head back to your office now. Please buy some snacks for Stefan,” she ordered.
Jacob groaned at the mention of his secretary and he glared at Jenny for messing his life. First, it was Stefan, and then Brennan was added. “You can’t handle him alone,” he warned her.
“You have to trust me on this. Go on now, and don’t forget about the snacks for Stefan.” She repeated.
Jacob nodded, but he couldn’t just leave without saying hi to Brennan Lim. The man might be dangerous, but they were not enemies, and he had to apologize for cursing at him earlier. “Lim! Fancy seeing you here, are you meeting someone?” He tried to play dumb and Jenny was embarrassed at the way he acted.
“Gordon,” Brennan acknowledged the man’s presence and his jaw moved at the realization that Jacob Gordon used his woman to seduce him into banking with them.
“I apologize for what I said on the phone. I assumed that it was her ex,” Jacob explained. “I had no idea you’re acquainted with Jenny,” he added.
Brennan maliciously smiled as his eyes stared at Jenny. “Well, why don’t you ask her how we know each other?”
“Never mind. My cousin here used to be a model and you must have met her on several occasions,” Jacob said.
Stephanie didn’t expect to be given the most difficult mission in her life and that was to make Jacob fall for her. When Jacob returned from his date, she couldn’t look him in the eye. She was also hesitant to take the paper bag with goodies from the nearby coffee shop. “It’s from Jenny,” Jacob said.
For a moment, Brennan Lim was dumbfounded at the revelation that Jenny Gordon was related to Jacob as a cousin. Although she introduced herself as a Gordon, who knew if she’s only a poser? Or Jenny Gordon was only a name she used while modeling? He stared at the woman for the longest time and he felt bad for insulting her. Nevertheless, he wouldn’t apologize for what he did because he enjoyed it! “Sit down, Jenny,&r
Carmela Gordon put on a sweet smile as she exited the elevator and as always, she looked sophisticated in her outfit. She’s maybe in her fifties but she refused to dress according to her age. As she walked towards Jacob’s office, excitement rose in her chest. One of her friend’s daughter just came back from Europe and she’s excited to introduce her son to Zanetta Matsuda. However, the office was empty!
Every time she walked into Jacob and Jenny, Stephanie could feel the tension between them and she wondered what caused it. “Good morning!” she greeted both of them when she entered the office. “You’re late!” Jacob bellowed.
When Stephanie returned to the office, she wasn’t surprised to see Jenny. She has expected her to visit the office of her cousin. What caught her attention was the box of chicken she’s holding on her hand. “I heard you love chicken,” Jenny said.
In the morning, Jacob was surprised to see his cousin waiting for him. She was dressed to kill as if she’s going to walk on a fashion show. Usually, he wouldn’t eat his breakfast at home and he wondered if Jenny has a prior appointment when she followed him towards the garage. “Are you going somewhere?” He asked when she stood close to his car as if she wanted to hitch a ride. When she didn't answer right away, he narrowed
