Chapter 24 Very Unclean

“Liu Longting, did you forget to hide yourself?” I asked Liu Longting. However, that did not make sense. Sages did not use some invisibility technique out of a wuxia novel. They were naturally incompatible with normal humans and could not be seen by them unless fate intervened, or the other party cultivated. Humans could not see fairies or spirits, yet now everyone could somehow see him.

It did not seem to bother Liu Longting too much, but he could be hiding his true feelings. He told me to leave and not bother that people saw.

I followed Liu Longting back to the hotel, but, curiously, on the way back, neither the hotel employees nor the people in the elevator could see Liu Longting. When we arrived at the room, I asked Liu Longting what was happening. Was Fairy Bai somehow affecting him?

“It’s my own problem.” Liu Longting sat on the sofa and pulled me toward him, making me sit on his lap unashamedly. He told me, “It’s because I’ve been together with you for a long time, and your human energy has been absorbed into my spiritual energy, so other people can see me as well.”

I almost slapped Liu Longting. He was blaming me! I had told him as much last night, but he would not listen. Now his spiritual energy was damaged, but he was treating it as if it did not matter. I felt myself getting angrier.

“If you’ve harmed your spiritual energy, can you still finish your cultivation? I don’t want to be your shaman forever, you know.”

“What do you want to be, if not my shaman?” Liu Longting looked into my eyes, deliberately throwing the question back at me. He grabbed my butt and gave it a squeeze, before pulling me into his embrace.

When I touched a certain hot area, I remembered how sensitive his hot touch was on my body, and my legs turned to jelly. I fell onto him; unable to control the tremble that wrecked my abdomen.

“What happened?” asked Liu Longting, pushing me down. Only two layers of cloth separated us. Looking at me with his alluring and seductive gaze, he forced our bodies closer together.

I was a little scared of the look he was giving me. I felt like I was looking at a horndog who was ready to go at it any time. I was scared that I would not be able to withstand the temptation and end up going with what he wanted. So, I hurriedly got off him and said I did not want anything. If I were to affect his future, his second sister would skin me alive.

“How stupid! Other people couldn’t even touch me if they wanted to. Actually, besides some minor inconvenience when I’m handling matters in the future, there’s not really much of an effect. My second sister just does not want us to get too close, which is why she said it would affect my future.”

That was weird. When Liu Longting said that, I suddenly remembered Yinggu did not seem to be too happy when I showed concern over Liu Longting.

“Is it because of the nature of our relationship?”

“That’s not the case. Anything can happen between a shaman and a sage, if both parties are willing.”

“I’m definitely not willing. It’s always because you seduce me.” I picked up a pillow and began hitting Liu Longting.

Liu Longting did not dodge and kept his gaze firmly on me.

I started to feel a little shy below his gaze. I did not feel like playing with him anymore, so I lied down on the bed and started playing with my phone instead.

After Liu Longting’s fever fully subsided, I went back home with him. We managed to make it back on the night of New Year’s Eve.

When grandmother saw that we had returned early, she asked me if Liu Longting’s family did not like me. I obviously could not tell her I had followed Liu Longting because I was running away from a marriage, so I told her there were some matters that needed to be handled, and I had to leave early.

After we offered Fairy Bai to the prayer hall, the days of peace in my house were over. There were sounds of glass breaking in the kitchen at midnight, and he would monopolize the television whenever he felt like it. We even had to watch our feet while walking in the living room, or we would risk stepping on a hedgehog and hurting our feet.

After a while, I started to lose all the goodwill I had toward old Fairy Bai for curing Liu Longting. After all, who could stand being woken up from their slumber late in the night by him arguing with Chang Batian and Chang Cuihong in the Fairy Hall? He would not listen to anyone, saying he was old and restless. He claimed he enjoyed quarreling, and I should not deprive him of his hobby.

Grandmother was very tolerant and treated Fairy Bai very well. Every time she bought some apples or dates, she would leave a few for him; but grandmother was grandmother. I absolutely could not stand Fairy Bai. Thankfully I would be heading back to school after New Year and would leave this stinky old man, reuniting with my close group of bestie roommates. I was ecstatic!

I walked with Liu Longting and bid grandmother farewell. Grandmother was laughing and telling Grandma Li that this man was the sage that helped save her village. She said the sage took care of her granddaughter really well, going as far as to physically appear to protect me. She said she was scared I would be bullied, going to foreign lands alone, but was relieved that Liu Longting would be there.

I was very tempted to turn back and say the only reason they could see Liu Longting was because he indulged in too much debauchery, and not because he wanted to personally protect me.

However it would not look great if that were to spread, so I resisted the temptation.

My university was a two to three hour train ride away from my house. Ever since Liu Longting could not conceal himself, he either turned into a human and stood by me, or became a snake and hid in my bag.

My luggage was way too heavy for me to carry up to my dormitory all the way on the sixth floor, so Liu Longting registered himself as my boyfriend and said he would leave after he helped me with my luggage.

Liu Longting was acting like such a gentleman, if I did not know how he actually was, I would have believed what he said. On the way up, I slyly looked at Liu Longting and said, “Liu Longting, you’re able to visit a female dormitory because of me. How are you going to thank me?”

Liu Longting thought for a moment and smiled at me. “Why would I thank you? If I wanted to, I would be able to go in even without you.”

When Liu Longting said that, I suddenly remembered that erotic dream I had last year in my dorm room. I suddenly felt like scolding Liu Longting, calling him shameless and berating him for what he did to me when there were so many other people in the dormitory.

However, I was already almost at the room, so I did not ask any sensitive questions. Instead I asked him, “Then where will you be staying in the near future?”

“How long do you have left to study?” He asked me.

“About a year and a half.”

“Then I’ll buy somewhere to stay near your house. When the time comes you can come stay with me.”

“Holy sh*t, are you serious?” Even renting a place next to my school was expensive, let alone buying one.

“When have I ever told a lie? Furthermore, it’s quite possible that we’ll need to come back here after you graduate.”

As Liu Longting finished his sentence, an extremely familiar voice called out to me, “Bai Jing, you’re back! I’ve been waiting for you for so long!”

It was Yao Na.

Yao Na was my roommate and an extremely good friend. She came from the south and dressed fashionably. She was about 170 centimeters tall and looked more like a northerner than me. She came from a family of businessmen and could be called half a rich heiress.

As Yao Na was talking to me, she looked towards Liu Longting standing beside me. I did not even need to guess to know that Yao Na had her eyes on Liu Longting. After all, Liu Longting’s looks were second to none, coupled with his height of over 180 centimeters, he was a woman’s dream man.

Liu Longting calling me Little Jing almost caused me to spit out some blood. I considered Yao Na’s single status and did not want to provoke her, so I told her it was a joke and Liu Longting was just a friend.

Liu Longting gave me a look. Yao Na suddenly perked up after she was a bit saddened by the boyfriend proclamation, and turned around saying she would open the door for me.

As she left, Liu Longting told me, “What are you using your brain for, did you not see that she was interested in me? After all that’s happened between us, I could even be your husband by now and you’re still trying to deny our relationship. Also your dormitory is very unclean.”
