Chapter 7 Evil Invasion

”What do you mean? Do you want to eat my flesh, or do you want to have sex with me?” I asked the man.

After all, I had read my fair share of trashy romance novels and the term ‘I want to eat you’ was definitely open for interpretation.

Perhaps my question was funny, but the man’s hand holding onto the tangerine dropped, and he excitedly asked me, “Why aren’t you scared of me? You’re not even crying!”

Of course I was scared! I was so scared I wanted to immediately run down the mountain. Who would want to be with this supernatural thing? If he really wanted to kill me, it would be as easy as killing an ant. However, I could not show him fear since I still needed to trick him into eating the pill later, thus I told him, “You’re so good-looking. Who would be afraid of a good-looking person?”

The man smiled and handed the tangerine in his hand to me. He looked to be in a good mood and sat down on a chair next to me. He asked, “Interesting. Why don’t you tell me what looks good about me?”

If not for the fact that I was trapped in this Mountain God Temple; if not for the face in front of me the Mountain God; if this was any other time, facing a narcissistic man who asked for more after I complimented him, I would flame him so hard he would question his existence.

“Nose, eyes, and mouth, all of them look good,” I answered him.

Hearing what I said, he smiled so widely it reached his eyes. He pulled me into his embrace like how a bigshot would embrace a brothel girl. “Not only is my face good-looking, my entire body is too. Come, let me show you a big treasure.” As he said that he lifted his hand to undo his belt.

It was absolutely sickening!

I suspected that this Mountain God had gone to brothels before, otherwise how could a proper deity say such vulgar words. I was so shocked that I immediately held his hands down. Looking at how eager he was after ten years of not touching a girl, I had an epiphany on how to trick the Mountain God into eating the pill.

“Old Mountain God, don’t be hasty. The moment I heard I was to be offered to you, I knew my days alive were numbers. Before I die, can you please let me feel something pleasurable?”

“Oh? Tell me what you mean by...something pleasurable?” The Mountain God fixed his gaze on me.

I suppressed my nervousness and took the Anesthetic Pill that Liu Longting gave me out of the bag. I told the man, “This is a pill my mother gave me when I was being carried up the mountain. She said it would greatly enhance sexual appetite. I thought to myself, I was going to die anyway… Why not die an outstanding death?”

“Really? Show me?” The Mountain God grabbed the pill from my hand. He looked at it for a while, but could not tell what it was, so he asked me, “You’re such a young child but you act so depraved. It’s just unthinkable. Could this pill be some poison meant to harm me?!”

“How could it be poison…”

I was just about to explain when he suddenly covered my mouth with his hand. He looked at the pill and then turned his head to look at me. “I believe you. How could a mere village in the mountains dare to give me poison. But since this pill can give the little beauty enjoyment, why don’t we eat it together? Wouldn’t that be even better?”

He put the pill near his lips and bit into it. The pill was crispy, and half of it was already in the Mountain God’s mouth. The other half had some bite marks and was wet with saliva.

“Come, open wide. I’ll feed you.” The Mountain God happily tried to feed me. However, looking at the black pill with the wet marks left on it, I could not help but be disgusted. Even if I was willing to eat the Anaesthetic Pill, I definitely did not want to eat his saliva.

However, I was not willing to eat that pill. It was given to me by Liu Longting to feed the Mountain God. I was but an ordinary person and was afraid I would die if I ate it. I tried to wait for it to take effect on the Mountain God. I would succeed as long as he stopped moving.

However, even after staring at him for a while, he was still happily holding up the pill for me to eat. In my anxiety, I started to suspect Liu Longting. Surely he did not use a fake pill to trick me. At this point, the Mountain God forced my hand away, so I just opened my mouth and ate the pill.

The Mountain God then turned around and pressed me against my chair. I was about to push him away, but the Anesthetic Pill had unexpectedly started to take effect. My entire body felt like it was filled with mud, and I could not move a muscle!

Did my plan just completely backfired on me? When was that Liu Longting b*stard going to save me!

My heart was in shambles—the Mountain God in front of me was about to lift my skirt. At that moment, a strong wind carrying the smell of snakes filled the whole temple. A large white snake as thick as a water bucket speedily crawled in from the temple entrance. As it approached me, it raised its gigantic head and bit into the Mountain God’s back. With a plop, blood gushed out and covered the snake’s body. The Mountain God seemed to only have reacted then and turned his head to look at the white snake behind him. However, the snake had flung him into a pillar and he rolled on the ground.

I really wanted to jump up from the chair and praise Liu Longting at that moment. This type of improper evil god should be punished! Alas, I had eaten the Anesthetic Pill and could not move a muscle, so I could only look at the snake with my eyes wide open.

Liu Longting looked at me lying on the chair and wrapped his tail around the chair. He pushed it behind his body, placing me about seven or eight meters away from them.

After the Mountain God was thrown onto the ground by Liu Longting, he hurriedly stood up from the ground, ignoring the wound on his back. He looked furious. The hairs on his head were flowing alongside his rage as he opened his mouth and shouted at Liu Longting, “Which insignificant peon dares to meddle in my affairs?!”

“Why don’t you take a good look? Do you recognize me?” Liu Longting changed into his human form—his skin fair and elegant with a cold expression on his face.

As I looked at Liu Longting still being so cool, I got worried. Even if this Mountain God had lost the faith of the village, he still had over 2000 years of cultivation; Liu Longting only had a few hundred. How could he beat the Mountain God?

I wanted to tell Liu Longting to be careful, but I could not utter a word. I could only regret agreeing to help Grandma Li and rushing over without having a better look at the situation.

Hearing what Liu Longting said, he snorted in contempt but still raised his head to glance at Liu Longting. As he looked, a brief flicker of worry flashed across his face. Nevertheless, he steadied himself quickly. “Did you think that just because you’re from the Liu Family that I would be scared of you?”

“Of course you aren’t scared of me, but you still wouldn’t dare touch a single hair on me.”

“Wouldn’t dare to touch? How cocky. You’re here alone. No matter how powerful your family is, they’re still far away from here. How could they help you? You meddled in my affairs, so I definitely will not let you off lightly!”

The Mountain God’s words were full of rage, but Liu Longting kept his cold expression and stared at him. “Then why don’t you give it a shot?”

The Mountain God was originally powerful and placed himself in a higher position. However, the tables had turned and he was on the back foot instead. Looking at Liu Longting’s uncaring face, he got even angrier. He raised both hands and had a ferocious expression on his face, as if he was gathering some internal power. Liu Longting just stood there unmoving, but a strange sound emerged from his mouth.

“Thak thak thak!”

I did not know how he was producing that sound, but it did not seem like he was whistling, and neither did it seem like he was clicking his tongue. The tempo and pattern did not sound like a tune, but rather like he was controlling something.

Indeed, a moment after Liu Longting made those noises, I suddenly felt objects crawling around in my stomach. However, it did not hurt. The Mountain God was in a different situation. I saw a mass of black string-like objects—just like the snake-like things I saw in the ultrasound the other day—coming out like crashing waves during a storm from every orifice of his body. They were frantically biting on his body, bringing strings of blood toward Liu Longting’s clean clothes…

Liu Longting did not hide, but instead just looked straight at the Mountain God who was being slowly devoured without a single expression. The Mountain God put up some resistance initially, but in the end lost all power to fight back and just laid against the pillar. His bloodied face stared at me, not uttering a single word again…

Staring at the Mountain God who had been bitten down by tiny snakes down to the bones, I was unsure if I imagined it, but I felt a cold air emerge from his body and penetrated mine.
