10. I Gotta Get Me A Noah

Sophie and Emily were both sitting on the couch under a shared blanket, staring at the TV as final credits scrolled. They both had tears streaming down there faces.

"I want a love like that." Emily said wiping a tear from her cheek.

"Me too" Sophie said through sobbing "can you imagine someone loving you so much, they write your love story down, and tell you it over and over to help you remember?"

"Uh no! I definitely can not imagine a love like that!" Emily replied "I gotta get me a Noah!"

They both looked at each other and laughed.

"If only real life was like the movies" Sophie sighed "I thought by now I would have at least fell in love."

"You will Soph the right guys is out there, just waiting for you. Besides its not like I've found Mr. right yet either." Emily said

"I know you're right, but dating sucks, and man have I dated some JERKS! Do you remember Alex? Why the heck did I stay with that loser soo long?" Sophie said

"Honey, we've all dated some jerks! But Alex? He was the worst! Dude was verbally abusive, I'm surprised Ed didn't take care of him and bury the body somewhere" Emily replied shaking her head. "Let's talk about something happier. You've got 2 weeks until you’re done with school are you excited?"

"Yeah, but I don't know what the heck I'm going to do next. How did you decide?" Sophie asked.

"Well after I did clinicals I knew I wanted to go in to obstetrics, but I wasn’t sure where. So I talked to a few nurses and decided I wanted to work in an office setting and then become a midwife. Of course that meant another year of school, but it was worth it." Emily said with a huge smile on her face.

Sophie smiled and then looked down at her lap, her smile transforming into a frown.

"What gets you most excited?" Emily asked placing her hand on Sophie's shoulder.

"I don’t know, you know I've always loved crunching numbers and helping people be successful. I guess I'd like to work for a big company, handle projects and see where they can save money, I love working with people. Maybe help with events as well." Sophie said.

Emily just stared at Sophie. "What?' Sophie asked.

"You're such a brainiac! I will never understand how you get so excited about crunching numbers, no thank you! I hate math!" Emily said." We'll it sounds to me, like you know exactly what you want to do, so do it!" "Find a big buisness doing work you like, and apply."

Sophie smiled "And I will never understand how you want to deal with blood, fluids, and all that other gross stuff! Ok I'll talk to a couple professors, maybe they can put in a good word for me."

Emily pulled Sophie in to a hug "Awww my little Sophie is growing up!"

"Whatever!" Sophie said laughing and pushing Emily off of her.

"And it's not gross!" Emily huffed "Bringing life into this world is a magical beautiful thing!"

"We need to do a celebration dinner after graduation." Emily said "Oh, lets do it at the diner! I'll take care of everything Soph! I'm going to give Carol a call right now!" Emily pulled out her phone and dialed a number. "Carol its Emily, lets do a dinner celebration after graduation at the diner" she said as she walked in to her bedroom.

Sophie just shook her head and laughed. She was lucky to have a friend like Emily in her life, heck she had become more like a sister over the years. Sophie thought back to the day they met. She was a freshman completely lost and looking at a paper trying to figure out where to go. She turned around, looking at all the buildings trying figure out where it was, when she backed into someone. "Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry." She said turning around.

"It's ok! I'm Emily." she replied holding her hand out.

"Hi, I'm Sophie" Sophie replied shaking her hand.

"Freshman?" Emily asked.

"Am I that obvious?" Sophie replied.

Emily laughed "Yes you are, don't worry, you'll figure it all out. Where is your next class?"

"Intro to economics in Whitney Hall" Sophie replied.

"Ah yes, it's this way, I'll show you." Emily said pointing towards a building across the quad.

"What year are you?" Sophie asked as they walked.

"I'm in my 3rd year." Emily replied "I switched a couple times but now going for my nursing degree. What about you?"

"Biz major." Sophie replied.

"Oh so you're a brainiac huh?" Emily asked.

Sophie shrugged "I guess."

"Well, here we are" Emily said with a smile.

"Th..thanks" Sophie said staring up at the tall building in front of them.

Emily laughed and grabbed Sophie's notebook and started writing something in the front cover. "Here is my number. Text me after you finish classes for the day. A few of us are going out tonight. I'll introduce you to some people. You're going to be alright, you'll get this all figured out"

"Thank you, I will text you later" Sophie said with a smile.

Emily ran off waving her hand in the air "Have a great day Freshie!"

Justin was working on his laptop on the couch in the living room when his phone rang. "Hello" He said.

"Justin Alexander Wright! Why didn’t you tell me you found your mate?!" Ashley yelled from the phone.

"Uhhh, ummm, wait how do you even know?" Justin asked.

"Don't go changing the subject! I got it out of your brother I walked in on him researching her on the computer." She replied

 Robert walked in. "Your car is here Alpha" Robert said.

"Hang on Madre." Justin said. "Thank you Robert. Can you get things taken care of here and then head back to the Packhouse? I'd like you to stay there for the time being." Justin said.

"Yes Alpha." Robert said leaving the room.

"I'm gonna kill Eric when I get back." Justin said back into the phone.

"It's not his fault, I don’t know why you boys think you can get anything past me, besides stop changing the subject! Why didn’t you tell me?" Ashley said

Justin sighed "Madre its complicated. I'm getting ready to head to the airport to meet Mike, can we talk about this when I get home?"

"Fine! But we are going to talk about this!" Ashley said

"I know, I know." He replied

"Be safe, I love you." Ashley said.

"I love you too," Justin said, and he hung up the phone.

Justin put his laptop in his overnight bag and made his way to the elevator. When he reached the lobby Rachel was waiting for him.

"Everything is ready, Mike will be at the Airport any minute." Rachel said.

Justin nodded and walked past her. "I expect you’re going to step up now and take care of things around here?" He snarled at her.

"Yes, I'm sorry I failed you, it wont happen again. I honestly just wanted to see you." Rachel said with a smile.

Justin shook his head "That's never going to happen, I told..."

 "I know" Rachel interupted "you made that abundantly clear in the elevator earlier" she huffed.

"Good!" Justin snapped at her climbing into the back of a black Escalade  "This is your last chance Rachel!" He sneered and then closed the door.

The driver pulled out and then headed towards the airport. Justin pulled out his laptop to get some more done during the drive. Sophie popped into his head again, yes Edon ached to be near her, but he could feel himself aching for her as well. He closed the laptop, he couldn’t focus with Sophie infiltrating his thoughts. He let out a growl.

"Is everything alright Alpha?" the driver asked.

"Yes fine" Justin replied.

Justin could feel and hear Edon whining 'Will you please stop that?' Justin said.

'I can't help it I want our mate!' Edon howled.

'I guess I'll just have to reject her' Justin sneered.

'Don't you DARE!' Edon snarled 'you have no idea how painful that will be for both of us!'

'What am I supposed to do?' Justin snapped 'I cant protect our pack if I'm mated to a weak human, and she is definitely not strong enough to help me lead!'

'How do you know? You know nothing about her! She could be very strong. At least wait to see what Eric finds out' Edon replied.

'FINE! I'll let Eric do his research, but Edon do not get your hopes up! I need a strong Luna beside me to fight the battle we have coming. I don’t think that human girl is up to the challenge!'

Justin could tell Edon was happier and at least satisfied with that answer for now. But as soon as Eric finishes his research, I will be rejecting her. He thought.
