MasukI woke up with a groan. My head was hurt, probably with the drug they gave me. There was some yelling from the background. I opened my eyes to see that I was staring at a flash bulb. I sat up and looked around. I was in a small handmade crib. There was a desk and chair at one side of the room. The walls had a cream color with sea green borderline. There was a couch and chair. The door opened and a couple walked in. Who were they?
“Oh darling, you are awake!” The woman was pretty and had a luring figure. Her black hair went perfect with her light brown eyes. The man beside her was pretty handsome, but he was pretty old. Were they even a couple at all?
The woman came over and picked me up. She gave me a bright smile. She gave me a sort of feeling like Diana did. She also had this mother-like aura, which helped me feel relaxed.
“Dad, look how cute he is? He is innocent. I bet he doesn’t even know why he was taken from his parents. You can’t kill him.” Oh so she was on my side. That is good. Persuade him even more.
“But Maria. His parents were the reason why your brother suicided, you know that?”
“He isn’t the reason though. It was his parents.” Her voice was confident and strong, which I admired. Maria went silent for a second. “Then how about this? Instead of killing him now, why don’t we kill him later?”
“So you expect me to give him back and after a few years kidnap him again?”
“No dad, until he is really I will take care of him like my own child. You know me and Albert can’t have a child because I am infertile. We also were looking for a child we could adopt too.” The man thought about it for a while.
“What if you gain feelings for this child?”
“Then you can rip the child away from me. Just give me three years, plus our house is only thirty minutes away from yours.” They stared into each other's eyes until the old man gave up. Maria squealed with happiness and hugged the old man with me crushed in between. After that, Maria gave me a soft kiss on the cheek.
“Welcome to my family, my sweet little angel.” I could tell from her genuine smile that she really meant it. Probably I could use her as my shield until I am old enough to run away. I also need a place to train my power, so I could start using magic as soon as possible and return home. I could also get back to the egg.
There was a carriage parked at the front of the old man’s manor. This one was pulled by four horses unlike the carriage I took from the old home. That one only had two horses. There was a horseman that helped her into the carriage. I was on her lap the whole ride to her mansion. During that time, she was talking, but did not expect an answer.
“From now on, you’re my dear son. I am really excited how Albert will feel when he sees his new son arrive at home.” I could tell she was really happy about this. I felt bad. She must have wanted a child and must have been really upset when she realized that she was infertile.
It did take around half an hour to reach her house. Well, it was really a mansion. How rich were these people? There many rose bushes with different colored roses at the front and a beautiful water fountain. The carriage stopped in front of the front door. I peeked through the window to see many soldiers, a butler, and a man at the front door. The man came down along with the butler. The butler opened the door and the man reached out his hand to help her out.
“Albert.” She said that name with a caring and touching smile. So this was her husband. Albert was tall and built. His brown hair matched Maria’s eyes. He did suit Maria in all aspects. He made eye contact with me. He bent down and gave me a smile, but his eyes looked curious.
“Hello, little guy! What’s your name?” Albert had an innocent face while asking this, so I felt comfortable. Were they really my parent’s enemy?
“I don’t think-”
“Alex.” I cut her off without thinking. They both gasped when I said my name. Did I make a mistake? I was on high alert. Their shocked faces turned into smiles. Albert picked me up and put me high up in the air, making his head lift up to look at me. His smile was still on his face.
“Hello Alex. Welcome to Maria’s and my house.” I gave a little smile that made him smile even more.
“He is our new son. Dad was about to kill him, so I took him from Dad. His parents were the reason behind Justin’s suicide eight years ago. I couldn’t let him. Am I a bad sister, Albert?” Tears were flowing down her face as she started to cry. She put her hand up to her face so no one would see them.
“No honey, what you did was right. Even if they were the cause, their son didn’t do anything. Plus, be happy. We got a new son.” Maria looked up to Albert. She looked better.
“You’re right. I shouldn’t welcome him through tears.” Maria picked me up and started smiling. Tears were still flowing from her eyes, so I reached out my hands and wiped her tears off her face.
“Thank you.” Her voice turned soft, must have been crying. I knew they were good people.
We walked up the stair to the front door, which was opened by the soldiers by the door. Were they important people or something?
The inside was huge. Well, compared to my castle back in my past life, it was only a tenth of its size. It was still huge. There was even a huge chandelier with a lot of crystals or were they diamonds. The crystals were sharp and really clear. There were two stairs leading upstairs. Each step was covered with black granite with a silver not inline stripes. There was a gray fur carpet, right underneath. Their interior designs were also my type of style.
“I’m going to say this one more time, Alex. This is going to be your new home.” I smiled brightly indicating that I am happy as soon as I survive. I wonder how my life is going to be with this new couple?
Maria knelt down to my height and cupped my face. I know she was curious about what had happened in that room, but she didn’t really say anything instead she stared at me. She gave me a small kiss on the cheek and left to go to that grumpy old man’s house. As soon as she left, I felt someone watching me. I have been feeling that since the king left.
The rumbling finally stopped and I shook off the servants that were still holding onto me. I could still hear Maria still yelling for Arthur. I opened the door and went upstairs to Alex’s room. I opened the room to see his room’s walls and roof were blown away. The floor was mostly still intact. Everything in the room was a broken mess.
The couple did try their best on becoming the best parents. They gave four maids to take care of my needs and even gave my own room. There were times where Maria would bring me over to her bedroom whenever Albert was working overnight in his office. She would stroke my hair until I fell asleep. The rest of the days I would sleep in the room that they prepared for me. I would try to stay awake during the night and build up in my mana. Maria and Albert had always been dead set on trying to make me call them mama and papa. Sometimes that grumpy old man would come over to supposedly babysit me whenever Maria went for shopping and Albert was working, but that rarely happens. I have been tr

(Jake’s POV)I was so sleepy from driving all the way along with Aston. My head was about to burst from not sleeping most of the night during the trip. I fell asleep as soon as I hit the bed. The bed felt so soft and fluffy. I should probably thank
I felt warm. No, I felt too warm. I woke up with a groan. I remember Ariella and the egg. My arms were empty. I sat up and scanned the area, looking for the egg. It was right beside me, wrapped up. We were both near fire, most likely made by Jeremy. Everyone was doing something, and I couldn’t believe they didn’t see me wake up.
