Chapter 8, the surprise

2020-11-06 00:35:38As the days went by Christine was feeling much better and the scratch was healing very well…while she was sleeping and trying to heal from the battle Antonio had to ask Apollo an important question before Christine woke up if she did that day.
"Apollo if I could have a moment of your time," asked Antonio very nervously, but confidently. He didn't want to show that he was nervous.
"Of course, Antonio anything for you. What can I do for you?" Apollo could tell that the young man was nervous but he didn't want to make it worse for him.
"I wanted to ask you if I could get your permission and blessing if I could ask Christine to be my wife." Antonio was really nervous about what Apollo was going to say...hoping that it's not a 'no'.
"Wow, this is serious, and you know I haven't been able to spend time with her since she's been here since of the battle and training." Apollo was concerned for the well being of his new daughter, and true that he hasn't spent a whole lot of time with her
"I completely understand if you say no..." Antonio said disappointingly. He just knew that Apollo was going to say no...
"I didn't say no, but I will need to talk it over with Aphrodite." Apollo at least wanted to give the young man a chance.
"I completely understand. Take the time you need." It took them most of that morning to decide and answer Antonio's question, but they did give him an answer in private between the three of them, but Antonio thought he had heard Christine so he went to her room to check on her.
“Yawn, good morning Antonio sleep well?” asked Christine sleepily. Still waking up she wondered why he was up so early.
“Of course, I’m with you.” She was asleep when he snuck into her bed, but she didn’t know until now. “Aww how sweet, hard to believe we’ve been together for 8 months. My parents called my school saying that I was going to take an extended leave so I could stay here as long as I want!” She did want to finish school, but guess she will have to settle for a GED when she could.
“Nice, but I’m just happy to be with you…” Antonio was happy for her since he knew how much education meant to her.
“Aww, Antonio how sweet…well I guess we should get up.” Christine blushed and was halfway up when she looked alarmed at hearing wings again.
“We could, but that’d mean moving…you hear wings? Hermes again…hope no one is in trouble” Antonio looked worried too hoping no one else was in trouble again.
“Oh, my I flew in at the wrong time again…anyway my lady I got a message from your mom saying she saw your mortal parents call your school, so you’re allowed to stay here.” both relieved it's not bad news and it was the news they already knew about.
“Ok, thanks Hermes just tell mom I got the message.” Christine smiled and was relieved that everyone she held dearly was alright.
“Yes, my lady.” And Hermes flew away to leave them alone
“Yeah, I get to stay here with you as long as I want, what could be better!? But I already knew that…oh well it still makes me happy.” Christine was happy that she could stay, she wanted to
“I know it does Christine but since I’m already done with school anyway, I don’t have to worry.”
“Oh, with me being a senior I only had a couple of days left anyway. What’s that you’re hiding?” asked Christine curiously.
“So much for surprising you…I was going to surprise you with this red rose.” He blushed as he gave her the rose. He wanted to make her smile all the time.
“Aww how sweet, how did you know roses were my favorite?”
“Your mom told me…and I also asked your dad something as well.”
“Oh, what did you ask my dad?”
“Something special…I know we’ve been together for about 8/9 months and that’s not a lot of time for a relationship but…I love you. I want to protect you always, I want to be there when you’re in trouble, I’d sacrifice myself to have you alive, but since we're immortal it kind of ruins that but that’s not the point…I want to be with you…what I asked your dad was his blessing…so I can do this, gets down on one knee, Christine Rose will you marry me?”
“Oh Antonio…I’m speechless…I don’t know what to say, but what I can say is yes! I’d be honored to marry you. I love you too and I’m happy you’d do all that for me. Of course, I’ll marry you.” He put the ring on her, and she was crying…it was a small ring a diamond with two sapphires on either side of the diamond with a silver band.
“It’s beautiful…let me guess my parents helped you pick the ring?”
“Yeah they did and I’m glad I got their help I didn’t know you were born in September.”
“Yup September 16, 1992.”
“I’m glad you like it.”
“Like it, I love it! It’s so beautiful and sweet of you to get it.”
“Anything for you my rose…”
“Aww, how sweet I feel so loved!”

Eight years went by and Kostos hasn’t bothered them again. Both figured he had learned his lesson about messing with them both thought it was wise of him not to come back since they still remember that fight Christine did with him. Alex will never forget it since it’s still the only time he had seen her like that…Apollo, Aphrodite, Bernardo and Anita still keep a close eye on them especially since Christine is pregnant…the poor and confused child not going to know what it is? Is it a wolf or is it a god/goddess? Both think it’s going to be a girl and already picked the name of Rose Margarita Rodríguez, and no guesses yet for a boy. Later on in the day when Christine was changing into her new white and turquoise spaghetti strapped, with beachy flowers boho style tea length dress Alex had bought her to wear for dinner when she heard something in the living room…the window was open. Puzzled and thought Alex was messing with her again so she doesn’t think much of it but checked it out. She gets to the living room window and sees no one there so she shrugged her shoulders and didn’t think of it. On the way to her room, she sees something in the window in the corner of her eye. Finally, after waiting 5 months after the murder it was Valentine’s Day…finally, Aphrodite told Christine some more details about it.“Well, today’s the day you ready sweetie?” Aphrodite smiled at her as she was getting her hair ready.“I’m nervous but I’m ready…so what are you going to tell me about my wedding?” Christine was so curious about it. Aphrodite, Anita, and Amelia kept almost everything a secret. There were a couple of things that they needed Alex and Christine's opinion on, but other than that it was all them.

Riff, Alex, and Christine went to the crime scene and for all of them, it was painful to see. Each in their wolf form they had a better chance of finding evidence and clues with their keen senses. Christine was a blonde wolf with golden eyes. It looked like a flash of sunlight as she ran. She was the smallest out of the three due to her being a girl, but she was about 5ft in length. Alex was a russet brown wolf, about 10 feet in length, dark brown almost black, intelligent eyes, and is very swift. And Riff was a huge black wolf, and quiet as a shadow, tall as a horse but more muscular, with dagger-like incisors and dark blue almost black. `After the news of Christine’s transformation spread the others were happy and yet curious about how they were going to tame a young wolf and a young goddess. It was going to be a challenge but Alex is doing a good job so far.
