Chapter 12: Getting Along

'I am the true revelation of the rebirth of the lost and forgotten great kingdom, I will bring down all that stands to oppose me in my quest to fulfill my destiny, I am Tryan the supreme king of all!'

That was the voice that kept echoing inside Chris's head immediately he woke up. 

"So, it was just a dream? But why does this person called Tryan, look exactly like me?" Chris kept on asking questions without any answer to relieve him of all his fears and uncertainty.

Bethany woke up very early to prepare a meal since they didn't get to eat anything last night. After she is done cooking, she went over to the room to call Chris but he wasn't on the bed anymore.

"Chris!!" Bethany calls out 

"I'm in the bathroom"

"Can I join you?" She said while trying to concede her laughter

"What!" Chris was startled!

"I'm only joking," Bethany said as she goes back to the kitchen, laughing... Then someone knocks on the door

"I'm coming" she went over to the door and open it. 

"Good morning Louis," she says with a smile

Louis was surprised when he saw Bethany and couldn't say anything at that moment; then he heard Chris's voice from inside... 

"Who is that Bethany?" He asked while dressing up.

"It's Louis" Bethany replied while staring at him. "Aren't you coming in?"

Louis comes in and went to sit on the couch beside Chris, who has come over to the living room. Bethany closes the door and walks to the bathroom, leaving them together in the sitting room.

"Good morning Louis"

"Morning bro... I came to surprise you this morning, but it seems I'm the one who is surprised instead" Louis replied with laughter.

"I know you would be surprised when you saw her."

"I'm more than surprised bro. So, what's happening? don't tell me you've gotten together again after what she did to you?"

"We haven't man, her staying here is just temporarily," Chris explained everything to Louis.

"Alright, so tell me, did anything happened between you guys last night?" Louis asked with a wink

"Get out, nothing happened... And I already told her I've moved on!"

"But have you did? Or you're just trying to cover up?" Louis continues to tease him

"Common Louis, you knew I already did so why bringing the issue out of nothing?" He smiles

"I was only pulling your legs" he started laughing then Bethany went to serve food

"What are you guys talking about?" Bethany asked while walking to the kitchen

"(laughing) Guys talks..." Louis replied to her and after a little chat with Chris, they all went to eat.

After they finished eating, they all gist for a while before Louis finally left. Chris and Bethany were talking when someone suddenly knocks on the door and Chris got up to go and check who it was. But was surprised when he saw Elena at his door...

"Come on in," he said while feeling nervous

"Thank you. Good morning" Elena enters and greets Bethany who was relaxing her back on the couch. Bethany just nodded her head and looks away.

"Please make yourself comfortable," Chris says pointing towards the couch. Elena sits and Chris sat beside her...

"How did you get to know my place?" Chris suddenly inquired.

"I collected it from the president; since I didn't later hear from you before you left yesterday" She sounds a bit angry

"Oh, I'm sorry about that... I needed to attend to something yesterday, that was why I left unannounced." 

Elena felt somehow uncomfortable with the way Bethany keeps on staring at her, and Chris later noticed everything.

"Pardon my manners please, Bethany meets Miss Elena who is our new history teacher, and this is Bethany, my ex-girlfriend." Bethany felt embarrassed but didn't let it show on her face.

"Hi, Miss Bethany, nice to meet you" Elena sounds reserved.

"The pleasure is mine and I would appreciate it if you can just call me Bethany without adding Miss."

"Alright!" Elena then turns to Chris; "I only came to collect those stuff we talked about yesterday since I would be leaving soon"

"Why are you in a hurry? Common stay a little while. What can I offer you?"

"You don't have to worry, I'm okay." 

"I insist!"

"A cup of water will do" Chris stood up and went to get it then Bethany followed him also.

"Baby," Bethany calls him and head towards the kitchen. "I will be going out now and won't be back until night, so don't miss me too much dear" she goes back to the room, took her handbag, and left without saying anything to Elena.

"Alright..." Chris felt awkward as he gave the water to Elena.

"Thanks" she collected the water... "So, where are the books?"

"Give me a minute," he stood up and went inside, he came back with some books. "This is it!" He handed the books over to her.

"Oh!" She drops the glass of water and takes the books from him. She went through some of it and close the books. 

"I will work on them when I get home."

"Okay! Sorry about what I want to say, but why are you strict with the students because they're not kinda happy about it."

Elena was caught off guard by the question as she dipped the books inside her bag. "I am not strict with them, I only try to teach them in a way that they will understand."

"I understand, but you know how their brains work since they are still kids. So please, try to be lenient with them." 

"I will, thanks for bringing my attention to that..."

Chris and Elena chitchatted for a while before Elena stood up to leave.

"Thanks for hosting me Mr. Chris, I appreciate it!"

"You're welcome, but just call me Chris," he said while smiling.

"Alright, Mr (laughing) sorry Chris... Can I have your number please" she felt a bit embarrassed 

"Sure!" Chris sounds excited

They both exchanged numbers and walks out together to the bus station down the street...

'Tryan, you need to come back home!' Chris heard a very deep masculine voice behind him and he was shocked when he turned back to find no one, as they both continued to walk down the street..
