2020-09-14 23:45:55"You read it right, here take the quill and parchment, write what you think is fit to do in this situation" Oliver said in a doting tone, he smiled warmly at her and Evelina understood that he was giving her a chance to show him her understanding of laws in the Wizarding world.
Evelina nodded and took the parchment and quill, she once again skimmed through the document and closed it. She then started writing in a fluid motion, she did not stop until she was done writing completely. She seemed confident about her decision as she pushed it towards her father.
Oliver looked at it and was stunned for a moment, he looked at Evelina with shock written all over his face. Evelina looked at her father in confusion and was about ask the reason for it when there was a knock on the door.
"Come in" Oliver asked the person knocking on the door to come in. He sighed and kept the parchment with Evelina's solution inside one of the drawers while locking it.
Oliver looked up to find an emerald eyed man walking upstairs towards them, he smiled and stood up to greet him. The man stopped when he saw Evelina seated in front of Oliver's desk, Evelina noticed his gaze and smiled politely as she stood up.
"I will take my leave, I just wanted to take a book" Evelina said politely as she nodded in respect towards the man who just entered and then smiled at her father before walking towards one of the shelves and picking out a book from it.
She was about to leave the library when Oliver motioned her to stop, he then walked towards the man and hugged him while smiling. The man also hugged Oliver back and smiled warmly like a long time friend would do.
"Rose, have you ever seen Harry Potter" Oliver asked in a casual tone which held a hint of cheekiness in it.
Evelina shook her head indicating she did not, she blinked at her father in confusion as to why he would suddenly bring it up. The man beside Oliver looked at him in with a face full of confusion, Oliver chuckled slightly and then asked Evelina to come near them.
"Rose, meet Harry Potter, the one we were talking about just now. Harry this is my daughter, Evelina Rose Wood. You met her when she when she was a newborn and after that you are meeting her today" Oliver introduced them to each other.
Harry smiled warmly at Evelina whereas the latter was a bit shocked. Even though no one knew about this but Evelina took Harry as her role model as she admired him for his bravery and how he overcame his fear one by one.
Evelina came out of her shock as quickly as she entered it, she smiled politely and extended her hand for a handshake which Harry accepted while adorning an amused expression on his face. Oliver chuckled and motioned Harry and Evelina to his desk.
"If I am not wrong today is your birthday right. Happy Birthday Evelina...I hope this year which also is your first year in England goes smoothly with lots of happiness in it" Harry wished Evelina warmly as he smiled in way a father would while looking at his treasured daughter.
Evelina smiled back politely and warmly, it was not forced or a mask that genuinely came out from her heart which shocked Evelina herself. She quickly shook it off and seated herself on the chair beside Harry and in front of her father.
"Do you know what is so ironically in your meeting today. You two came in just at the right time, it is better if you two are not shocked" Oliver said in an excited and enthusiastic tone making Evelina look at her father in confusion.
Harry already knew the reason of Oliver's enthusiasm, he would be enthusiastic only for two things, it was either he found an interesting case or he found a solution for a case which was very hard one to deal with.
"Harry do you remember the solution you mentioned previously but we rejected it as it was difficult to control the situation as there were many possible outcomes" Oliver reminded Harry of his previous solution.
Harry nodded to it and Evelina was already piecing her father's riddled sentences together but chose to keep quiet and listen to him speak. Oliver looked at Evelina and realised that his daughter already caught what he was about to say making him sigh internally.
"Today Rose happened to read the case, I asked to suggest a solution from her point of view. At first I just wanted to understand about her point of view on the..." Oliver started in an excited tone but was interrupted by Harry.
"You mean Evelina, who is yet to complete her schooling and training understood the depth of the case" Harry asked in utter shock as he was trying to process the things slowly but was too hard for him.
Oliver chuckled lightly and Evelina was not sure as to how to react to such a shock from a person who proved his worth when he was her age. Oliver calmly opened his drawer in which he stored Evelina's solution and handed it to Harry.
"Read and tell your thoughts on it" Oliver said in a calm and casual tone as he handed Harry the parchment Evelina wrote her solution on.
Evelina and Oliver looked at Harry calmly as he read through the solution suggested by Evelina. Harry on the other hand was in complete disbelief and shock when he read the written solution, he finished reading it and looked at Oliver with inexplicable expression on his face.
"The solution is similar to mine but the flaws were tactfully turned into advantages, this level of understanding is truly surprising for a 15 year old" Harry stated his thoughts calmly, as he started to accept the fact that Evelina was abnormal just like him.
