LOGINDid you actually listen to me?" It came from June.
"Huh?" I made absently. Since I had been somewhere else with my thoughts, I unfortunately could not fully listen to her.
"The ball ..." June said slowly and looked at me in disbelief.
"You're telling me that you haven't listened at all for the last two hours? Then I'll have to explain everything again," June groaned annoyed.
"So it was about that Halloween party, right?"
"Exactly. We need real costumes, something original. No Twilight nonsense and no discounter scraps."
"Okay, okay," I said, holding up my hands soothingly.
She told me all over again, leaving no details out, and telling me what she had heard from the party last year. Of course she hadn't even been to school then, but she had asked around a little, as she also told me. At some point I ignored some of what she was telling me because she spoke without a period.
She cheered excitedly, and I really wondered what evil I had just made a pact with. "And now we're going to go shopping for our costumes! Just to be clear, this has nothing to do with shopping, it's just part of preparing for Halloween.
Full of anticipation, my roommate hopped from one room to the other. She reminded me a little of an Easter bunny, with her lively and cranky manner. After about half an hour, we drove into town with her red, but sacred, junk box. What was referred to here as a “city” struck me as a small village. Three hours later we were on our way home again. I really felt sorry for my feet. The distance between the few shops was huge and unfortunately we hadn't got the idea to take the car.
My costume was that of a vampire lady, original and not too slutty. It was jet black, old-fashioned, and has a black corset. In addition there was a black, high collar like you knew it from the Dracula films. Black high heels served me as shoes, even if, to be honest, I didn't feel like walking around in those killer shoes.
With a dark red lipstick, black mascara, thick kohl, white powder and my elongated canine teeth, I disappeared into the bathroom and came out as a believable vampire.
In less than an hour the Halloween party would be on the school grounds. As I had heard, there should even be a mirror house and a horror cabinet.
June ended up pinning my hair up artfully and in the old-fashioned style, so that some artificial curls fell over my shoulder. When I looked in the mirror, I was pleasantly surprised. The costume didn't look cheap, as I almost feared at the beginning. The dress was sexy, not slutty and had the classic vampire style from the Dracula years. June left as a convinced witch. Her costume consisted mostly of purple rags, a black hat and a broom.
It was already dark and you could hear the loud music, laughter and talk from afar. The fresh air in the evening was always wonderfully clean, and a pleasant change from the whole hairspray smell in our apartment. Since I didn't see a single person I knew on the dance floor, June and I decided to go to the Spiegelhaus first, where almost no people were standing in line. From the outside you could hardly see anything, no mirrors, no windows, absolutely nothing. I found this fact almost creepier than any blood-smeared clowns, plastic spiders or pseudo-ghosts.
At the entrance we were stopped by a seriously dressed man who was probably something like the doorman.
"Entry is free for women, especially for sharp witches," he glanced at June, who gave him an embarrassed smile. Aha, so that was it.
At the end he warned us about a few little 'extras' and then stepped aside so we could go through. Since June said I should go first, I went ahead without hesitation.
Hundreds of mirrors awaited me in a room adjoining the one in which Jun was still standing. When you looked in the mirror, your changed reflection looked at you. You either looked fat or spindly. I made my way through the mirror maze and finally came to a stairwell. I carefully put one foot after the other on the stairs. With my killer wheels it wasn't that easy, especially when you had to worry the whole time that a heel would suddenly break off because you twisted stupidly. I was already seriously considering whether I should just take off my shoes and run that high. However, since the steps were littered with dust, dirt and something else, I preferred to accept the pain and fear for my shoes. I was finally on the first floor. At the thought of having to run everything down again, I grimaced.
Suddenly a hidden door creaked open next to me and a tall man in a Frankenstein mask growled at me like a mad animal. A mask? Couldn't they afford a smart make-up? So that could really have been done better.
"Was that the little 'extra'?" I asked, a little disappointed.
The Frankenstein guy slowly pulled out a knife and pointed it at me. As if he was about to spear me like a pig on a spit. It couldn't be a real knife, the danger of hurting yourself or someone else was far too great.
He quickly narrowed the few steps between us. He was probably even bigger than the brothers. Given his size, he certainly had a good chance of becoming a basketball player. He was still holding the knife so it was pointing in my direction. Wow, that looked really convincing. Where was June anyway? The thought that I was here all alone made me feel a little queasy.
"Okay, okay. I'm going on, okay?" I said, holding up my hands defensively.
Since Frankenstein didn't move a meter and just stared at me, I took a small step back. It wasn't that easy with high heels, so a little respect, if you please!
The fact that he wasn't screaming, waving the fake knife wildly, or gasping was a little unsettling. He just stood there and watched me closely, like a hunter his prey. Why didn't he just run screaming, with a laceration on his head and a knife in his chest, and scream "Boo!"?
Again I took a step back, this time a little more hectic. I had to be careful not to ruin my dress or hairstyle, not to mention my shoes. No one would hear me scream with the noise that was being made outside. June was definitely still at the entrance, that little scaredy rabbit!
This freak took a big step towards me and smiled. Suddenly I was thrown against the nearest wall with a crash. I heard the blood rush in my ears and the pounding in my skull. My limbs ached as I slowly straightened up. Some loose strands fell on my face and I found that there was a long tear in the hem of the dress. Really great. That was called property damage! Where was he? Where was Frankenstein? That asshole! I got up swaying. Thank God I found the exit quickly, and without anyone interfering with me. Who was that just now? Or was it all just part of the show? If so, then even I was shocked, and that had to mean something!
The bouncer who flirted with June earlier was talking to what I suspected was a co-worker or friend. As I came through the door, I caught a few snippets of conversation.
"I also can't understand why Logan left an hour ago. The party just started!
Oh my God! If no one was there to do the horror scenes, who the hell was the Frankenstein in there?
Before I could really worry, someone tapped me on the shoulder. I spun around and found a vampire standing behind me. Damien.
"Apryl, nice to see you. Apparently we have a similar taste," he whispered and grinned, baring two long canine teeth.
Damien looked me up and down with his X-ray vision and finally got stuck on my generously cut cleavage.
Huhu? I was still there too?
I cleared my throat and Damien's eyes darted quickly to my eyes. Aha. But not at all ashamed, rather amused, he grinned at me.
"Have fun," he said dryly and pressed a glass of champagne into my hand.
Champagne? They were allowed to give out alcohol to young people? That was a rather positive surprise for me. Presumably they only gave it to adults. I quickly threw down the champagne before any supervisor caught me with the alcohol. I put the empty glass on a tray that was on a table and on which some empty glasses had already accumulated.

closed my eyes, wondering if this was a tactic to get me around or if it was just for concentration."Okay, what are you feeling right now?"I listened curiously inside myself and tried to find out what I was feeling. There was just ... nothing."Nothing at all."I could literally hear him put on such a smug smile again, yes yes, read that right, heard! Suddenly I felt warm breath on my skin and shortly afterwards warm, soft lips on mine. My brain was switched off, I had stopped thinking, that apparently wasn't too difficult for me.At first I stiffened, then I kissed back. Thinking wasn't an option right now. He pulled away from me again and I opened my eyes. I was shocked, excited, angry - furious - and well, I was seething inside me."And what are you feeling now?" He asked me and grinned at me.I would have loved to slap myself because I had actually fallen for him. That bullshit. I probably had to show him where the hammer
What actually happened? I just remember how all the devices flew through the air," I said, thinking of the little tornado that had swept through the room."That wasn't the machine, honey. It was you," Lucian told me.I just skipped over the 'sweetness', I really didn't feel like arguing, and above all no energy. Should I now claim damages, or what exactly did he mean by that? I wasn't Bruce Almighty after all, was I? Maybe the tornadoes were one of my skills?"We believe that your ability is the element of air. Every millennium exactly four of us are born with elements. This is actually quite unusual as each ability of us is unique. Each other's abilities are sometimes repeated over the millennia, however it is never exactly the same, but rather a facet of it. However, the elements are repeated more or less regularly and those who have these abilities mostly perform some miracles. Caesar was also one of us gifted. He ruled the element earth, that was carved in s
Damien pulled the metal thing down a little further in front of my face and then put it on me like glasses. It even had temples like this and I was kind of forced to look through them. Then he fastened my arms and legs with leather straps and tested them again to make sure that they were really tight enough."How long does it usually take?" I asked him.I was a little intimidated by this device. Most of all, I was worried that I was buckled up like a convict. I couldn't move either, I'd already tried that."It depends," Damien muttered."And for what?""You will see."Damien went to the door and locked it so that it was now pitch dark. This room had no windows or lamps and every second it only got more creepy. The nerdy, whose name I still didn't know, squealed like a cornered guinea pig. I hadn't noticed that she was still in the room. What was she doing here? That wasn't a cinema."Okay, let's go", with the
Yeah ... he's just as hot as Damien. I would say it's a matter of taste," June said and her thoughts were probably somewhere else."Probably more of an aberration of taste. His ego really needs to be rubbed down like the one on it. He probably expects every female being to adore him and -""It's Damien, after all. I mean ... it's Damien!"A few people turned to us and grinned knowingly before moving on."June, I think we have to go back to class," I said as the corridor was now emptying faster and faster."What a bummer, next we have skills. Come on now!" June suddenly said impatiently to me and pretended to be texting her the whole time.We went to the said subject in a hurry. I was relieved to find that Teacher wasn't there yet. We were in a gym or something like that. The entire gym was made of metal, except for the floor and windows, and security devices that stood around. First aid kits were attached to a wall every two meters, t
Beep, beep, beep, beep, beep ..."Where's that goddamn alarm clock?" I growled half asleep.Rest, finally. June had turned the alarm off. Why did my mornings always start with the high-pitched ringing of an alarm clock?"Shit! It's almost half past seven!" She shouted, shocked, and literally jumped out of bed.Now my lazy bum started moving too, I threw back the covers and put on my pink plush slippers.I shuffled into the bathroom and looked in the mirror. You could call me a scarecrow, my hair was completely knotted and I had dark circles.I owed the dark circles to the horror films yesterday evening - or rather today in the morning.I fought my way through my hair with my brush and after what felt like hours I had untied it. A little shocked, I looked at my brush. I hair like a dog or some other creature.I smacked a little more powder on my face, or rather on the dark circles, and smeared the edges with my index finger.
