That whole morning, the only thing they did was joke around and laugh like there's no tomorrow. Rowie thought him how to manage the cashier. She also thought Clyde how to fix the foods and fill it whenever it runs out. She didn't have a hard time teaching him because he learned them fast. It was not that hard as well, though.Gloria left after an hour to check out her other business. And unexpectedly, well not really, the convenient store was filled with people. They were, indeed, female teenagers with raging hormones. They didn't even put an effort on hiding their grins and giggles as they watched Clyde.

Rowie decided to have an over time. Clyde was already preparing to leave. He noticed the uneasiness in Rowie's face. It felt like there was something bothering her. Christmas break passed. It didn't turned out well with the Ravdin family. They discovered that Raven had Leukemia. Janice couldn't help but cry about her little daughter's case. She looked so fragile that if someone touched her, she would immediately break. The old woman talked to the police while Clyde guided Rowie on a vacant sofa. She was still in daze and was trying to sink in everything that happened. She didn't talk and just stared in the air. Clyde was starting to worry about her so he spoke."Are you okay?"She did not answer his question but instead, she said, "He said he was selling drugs alone. According to Gloria, he was doing that because of Raven." A tear fall on her cheek and continued speaking, "I can't believe that he would do that."

New Year passed like a storm. Rowie managed to help her Mom with the expenses, but it was not enough. She would visit her father in jail to chat with him. They were still awkward but she was getting a little hang of it. She started cooking for him, too.
