I woke up the next morning to my cell ringing in my ear. I groaned and looked over at the caller ID but when I saw it was Ace, I shot up, sitting up straight.                     I don't know how long I stared at the screen, wondering whether or not to answer the damn thing. Did I want to talk to Ace? No. But what if it was important? I answered the phone.                     "Hello?" I picked up shakily.                     "WHERE ARE YOU?" The thought of loving Ace drifted from my mind as another thought clouded it instead. "So, Kimmy gave me some advice."                    "Oh did she?" He asked me in a tone that made me believe that he would expect something like that.                     I nodded. "She says we need to work on our communication."                    "What's wrong with our communication?" Ace asked in a defensive voice that mirrored my own when Kimmy had talked to me the day before.                     "Let's be real here Ace. Neither of us are good at telling the other how we're feeling; me especially," I smiled over at him.                     

"Do you wanna go on a date?"                    I turned around in my desk and looked at my best friend. "Kims, I didn't know you batted for both teams."                    "Shut up! I meant like a friendship date," she rolled her eyes at me.                     I pretended to think deeply and nodded slowly. "I think that you could have just asked me to hang out with you."                    "I wanted to be cute, okay?" She admitted with a sigh.                     I blinked my eyelashes flirtingly. "Well in that case, I would love to go on a friendship date with you Kimmy."            &

I truly thought Kimmy was going to bite off my head the moment she saw me. Considering after yesterday and her finding out I had lied to her and my somewhat boyfriend. I think.  If there was one thing I knew about Kimmy, it was that she hated dishonesty. It was her biggest pet peeve, besides trash talking about people behind their backs. She was a good person and I felt terrible for lying to her. Just like Ace, I knew she was going to go in on me not trusting her even though I did, completely.  All of that is the reason I made Ace stop at the grocery store on the way to school just so I could buy her a box of chocolates. I didn't care if I was late to class, Kimmy loved chocolate more than anything in the world.
