SHADOW GANG IN TROUBLE

Niyah’s POV

“Niyah, Jacob, Michael, Keisha, Lee, Sia, in my room, NOW !!!”

“Mr. Smith, you wanted to see us ?”, I asked innocently as we entered the Principal’s half burnt office, only to get a smoldering stare from the fuming Principal of our elite school at Diamond Ville.

“THIS has gone completely out of hand. I have called your parents. SODIUM PELLETS IN MY SCHOOL’S WASHROOM SINKS ARE NOT APPRECIATED, MS. STONE”, bellowed Mr. Smith furiously.

We didn’t know if the fire was blazing higher or our Principal’s temper, but in any case getting under his skin was one of our mutually agreed, favourite hobby.

Amidst the blaring fire sirens, we all could hear the speeding motorcade making its way to the front porch of the blazing school. With coy smiles on our faces, we all braced up for the fun that would be unfolding soon.

Oh, I am sorry. Where are my manners ! 

By the way, I am Niyah Stone, the most loved and only child of the Alpha of the Diamond Heart Pack. 

My father and mother were the most uncontrollable pranksters in history in their respective schools and I obviously, take after them. But I am not alone, my best friends- Jacob, Michael, Lee, Sia and Keisha make it worse than hell for others and today has been no exception.

After razing down the entire school building, the grins on our faces showed our pride in pulling out the greatest prank in history. 

My mother is my best friend and is always on my side, no matter what, much to my dad’s exasperation but my Alpha dad can’t help but dote on me inspite of all my naughty antics.

Not only my parents but the pack adores me which has turned me into the most mischievous devil with the most innocent face. 

Lee and Keisha are twins of my father’s Beta while Michael and Jacob are the sons of the third and fourth in command respectively. Sia is the Beta’s adopted daughter.

Our group is called the Shadow Gang and we have been together since eternity. 

We have been trained hard in secrecy to become hard-line warriors since we were 4 years old but we were told to never use our powers for aggression against innocents nor show our real powers to the world.

Coming to the present, our eyes widened when not only our fuming dads entered the school premises but our mothers followed suit too. On the bright side, it showed that the prank was not a petty one although we knew in our hearts that the punishment wouldn’t be easier too.

“Niyah ! Thank God, you are safe baby. I was so worried for you”, my mom instantly hugged me and engulfed me between her arms inspite of the deathly glares my dad was giving her.

However, my father’s dangerous gaze did not go unnoticed by all.

“Since, you all seem to be pretty weary of this school, I’ve decided to send you all to Asheville for your studies and nothing will change my mind as I’ve already informed the authorities and everything has been arranged for your transfer there”, my dad dictated in his Alpha tone, knowing quite well that he would soften soon on seeing my puppy eyes but this punishment was beyond reason ! 

Asheville is known to be one of the strictest schools for werewolves and vampires and the worst part is that it stands on No-Man’s Land, meaning that students from packs all over the world would be there ! 

This only meant pure loss of freedom and to make things worse, it was a boarding school.

Sigh ! I will miss my home so much. 

How could I leave everything behind that I cared for with my life and had been practically living all these 17 years of my life with.  

While the rest of the Shadow gang and my mom were about to protest, dad’s Beta added, “And you all start your courses tomorrow so make sure that your lazy butts are ready by 6 am sharp. Asheville is a 4-hour drive so you all can make it to your 10 am class with 1 hour to spare to set your belongings in your respective dorms.”

Shock still evident on our faces, we culprits managed to grin at each other with only one thought racing in our minds- “Let’s see if Asheville stands longer or us”.
