Raging fire - Philip Philips

"Edana," a voice whispered and I opened my eyes slowly to face Jada. She had a big smile on her face and I stood up straight and wiped the invisible drool of the side of my lips. I raised an eyebrow at her and her smile seemed to increase. "Daddy is back." She said and my eyes widened in shock.

"Shit." I muttered when I heard the roaring of an engine go off. I reached for the handle of her wheelchair, and wheeled her into her kitchen after turning of the light in the living room which her father must have never failed to notice. I set the mini laptop I had in my coat pocket on the counter in the middle of the kitchen, and turned off the light. I motioned for her not to make any noise with my index finger across my lips and waited for him to show his face.

The door of the living room opened and my heartbeat juddered at each lumbered footstep I heard.

"Jada," his disembodied orotund voice echoed through the building and that added to the loud thumps of my heartbeat as he got closer. "Jada sweetheart I need you to answer me. Where are you?" He asked in a hinted shaky voice and I brought out the gun and clicked it loud enough for him to hear. I pointed it on her temple and she whimpered in fear. The light of the kitchen turned on and our eyes connected. His eyes were angry and cautious and mine were gunmetal, with a bit of hidden guilt.

"Who are you?" He asked, fishing a gun out of his pocket and pointing it at me, directly at my head. I laughed in a jeer much to his annoyance and drew the wheelchair closer to me which he didn't fail to miss.

"Drop the gun." I ordered nicely, drumming my fingers on the handle of the wheelchair and staring at him with high intensity. I was thankful Jada had kept her mouth shut. I didn't want to be in a situation where I would be forced to shut her up with a hit.

"I asked you a question," he said in a mean way and I rolled my eyes forcefully.

"And I won't hesitate to put a bullet through her head if you don't drop the gun and let us get to business," my voice was low and venomous. He still kept the gun pointed at me and I raised an eyebrow at him.

"You wouldn't dare to harm my daughter. I'll make you spend the rest of your life suffering in a near death experience," he warned and I couldn't help but laugh shortly at his words. He attempted to come closer, so I shot the wall next to Jada which made the both of them to flinch and she started to cry again.

"Okay okay! I'm dropping the fucking gun. Don't hurt her," he dropped the gun and I shot him a smirk.

"Kick it to me." I ordered and he did. I caught the gun with my boot and hid it behind me. "Turn on the laptop on the counter. Password is 'IDON'TGIVEAFUCKABOUTGLASGOW'." I told him, ignoring the pointed stare he gave me and watched as he shakily cold booted the laptop.

"Done. What next?" He asked and I smiled genuinely, then frowned when I remembered what I was about to do to him and his daughter.

"How old is Jada?" I asked and his jaw clenched with his chin tucked in.

"She's six," he replied reluctantly and my brows raised in amusement. She was smart for her age. I gave him a sad smile and went straight to what Kai requested.

"Open the TSB Bank app, log into your profile there and transfer 12000 pounds Sterling to this account, 1366." I said in a fast pace and his eyes met mine in defeat and anger.

"You can go to hell for all I care-"

"Your daughter will be coming with me." I pressed the gun further into her temple.

"Daddy please give her the money, you can save another one." Jada said and I chewed on my lower lip to hold back the tears that threatened to fall.

"Just do it if you value your life and the life of your daughter." I said weakly and I saw the unshed tears he held in his eyes when he nodded. I watched solemnly as he worked on the laptop with shaky fingers. My mind was on how the hell I was gonna kill Jada without a fight with her father. I sized his muscles up. He was huge and heavily build, bigger than any other person I have fought before.

"I'm done. I hope you're happy," he told me with an emotionless face but I saw it deep within him. He fought so hard to hold himself together. He didn't want to seem like he had given up in front of his daughter, in front of me.

"You just saved the lives of the people I care about. Thank you." I told him and saw the shift of emotions in his eyes.

"Report if you're forced to do this. Don't let whoever the evil person is win," he said and I shook my head as tears welled up in my eyes, and began to roll down my cheeks like rivulets. No one could express my agony.

"You don't know him. He'll kill you with just one snap of his fingers." I told him and his brows perked up in interest." I was told to kill Jada," he stood rooted to the ground, his eyes flashed with anger and he turned red with fury. "But I won't do it. I won't do it because I'm gonna end this." I watched as he was robbed of his words in shock. I could see a hint of happiness hidden in his eyes and I picked up the laptop and dropped it in my pocket.

"Bye Jada." I smiled at her and left the cabin. I walked on the lonely road and found Kai's black car up ahead. I walked faster to his car and got into the passenger seat. In silence, I thought of how he was gonna take the news. I was prepared for a fight. I was willing to know how strong he was and if he had powers like me. I was willing to fight him to protect Jack and all of them. Even if I meant I would die trying.

"He transferred the money." I said, looking ahead like a zombie but I was sure he could hear how uneven and loud my heartbeat was.

"Did you kill her?" He asked and I gulped in fear and gripped my coat tight.

"I-" tears fell from my eyes and I wiped them quickly with my fingers. I was shit scared of what the outcome would be. "I couldn't kill her Kai. I tried but I couldn't. She's six years old and-"

"Shhhh little Edana. It's alright. I knew you wouldn't. Give me the gun," he ordered and I gave it to him with my hands trembling. He turned on the car and drove off. I couldn't still believe he would let me go just like that. I was grateful he didn't yell at me or threaten to kill Jack or Leroy.

He stopped in front of my house and I gave him a small fake smile and got down. I stood and watched until he drove away before I climbed up the small stairs. I reached for the house key in my pocket but dropped it when I noticed the door was slightly open. Paralyzed with fear, my hair stood on ends and my skin felt cold and clammy as frightening thoughts raced through my mind. My footsteps padded in the house as I made my way to Jack's room. He wasn't in the living nor the kitchen.

I got into his room and my heart thuddered like a rock rattling in a box as I saw a trail of blood leading to his bathroom.

"Jack!" I yelled out but got no reply. Only the sound of water dropping in his bathtub in every five seconds I counted. I followed the trail of blood into his bathroom and my eyes widened in horror. I couldn't stop the scream that tore through me like a great shard of glass.

I wasn't the old Po anymore who relied on hiding my powers from the world and keeping shut when I was insulted. I was the new Po that killed innocent and non innocent people to save the people that were close to me."We'll be going out now," I flinched when I heard Aunt Rory's voice and I glared at the smug smile she had on her face as she peeked into my room. He was so mean to me."Jack?" I nodded on the door of the room and heard no reply from him. If I killed someone for you - Alec BenjaminThe day had gone to rest and the night took over, enveloping me with its darkness. I liked the night, it hid my ugliness, the scar on my flesh, and the sad and depressed expression on my face. My boots were the only sounds I heard as I walked cautiously on the lane, making my way to the black car that waited for me in the front. I got closer to the passenger door of the car and looked skyward at the canopy of luminous stars that designed the black canvas of the night. It had no moon.I opened the door and got in, slamming the door hard to control myself from scratching the smug look on his face and burning his ear with the cigarette in between his fingers."Took you long enough," his deep voice filled the silence and I rolled my eyes and unbuttoned the tight dark gray coat I wore."Jack needed me." Lash out - Alice Merton"Finn, they're staring." I whispered to him as we stood in the middle of a big bar called REGALS. It looked sleek, almost formal but at the same time old fashioned. I stared at the fancy drinks arranged behind the lanky blonde haired bartender who Finneas was negotiating something I knew nothing of. I needed to leave immediately. This wasn't the 'bunking' I expected. Old men that sat on the big sofas with brown tables filling up the spaces all stared at me. I guess they didn't expect two teenagers with their backpacks hung on their backs to be in a dangerous place like this."You owe me one Finn. You're lucky my boss isn't in town," the blonde haired punched Finneas on his shoulder and he gave off a laugh, one I knew very much to be fake. He handed Finneas a bottle of alcohol and I narrowed my eyes at the drink. What was he up to?"Thanks Cal. C'mon Po," he tugged my hand t

I had woken up early so I could get to school and be the first and maybe only person to wish him a happy return. Just as I stood in front of the gate, I plastered a grin on my face the moment I saw his mom's beetle pull up in front of the school. He got out with gray loose hoodie and black jeans on. He never wore dark colored clothes and that drew my attention. His expression was emotionless and dull."Leroy!" I jumped, "welcome back." I smiled at him. He walked past
