If I killed someone for you - Alec Benjamin

The day had gone to rest and the night took over, enveloping me with its darkness. I liked the night, it hid my ugliness, the scar on my flesh, and the sad and depressed expression on my face. My boots were the only sounds I heard as I walked cautiously on the lane, making my way to the black car that waited for me in the front. I got closer to the passenger door of the car and looked skyward at the canopy of luminous stars that designed the black canvas of the night. It had no moon.

I opened the door and got in, slamming the door hard to control myself from scratching the smug look on his face and burning his ear with the cigarette in between his fingers.

"Took you long enough," his deep voice filled the silence and I rolled my eyes and unbuttoned the tight dark gray coat I wore.

"Jack needed me." I crypted and ignored the warning glare he gave me. If he thought I would choose killing over Jack then he was utterly wrong. "What's the mission?" I asked, not ready for his mockery. He turned on the AC and cold clutched my fingers and ugly skin like a koala. I reached in for the fire inside me. Deep inside my chest, through every cell of my body, the warmth welcomed me like an old friend.

"You're gonna destroy a man's hope of living for me," he started as he rolled down the window to throw his used cigarette away. I winced slightly and stared at his emotionless face. What if Kai used to be a man filled with rainbows and unicorns? "He has been saving money for his only daughter's leg surgery and I want you to make him surrender the money. You see, his daughter is his only family, his world. I want you to kill her." My heart constricted in pain and I controlled my enraged breathing so I could find my voice.

"How," I cleared my throat, "how much are we talking about?" I asked, dreading the answer.

"12,000 pounds Sterling," he said and my eyes widened in shock. Never in my life have I held such money talk less of stealing. Sure mom was really rich but I never used it as an advantage.

"Fuck you, you useless son of a-"

"I dare you to complete that," he cocked a gun at my temple and I pressed myself into the car seat, looking ahead at the cars that passed us by with my jaw clenched in anger. How I wanted to make him hurt for all the people he forced me to kill. He turned on the car and began to drive like we were father and daughter on a nice trip. My gaze was fixed out of the window, staring at the people inside their cars. They were so oblivious of the supernatural world that lurked around them.

The road he drove in got scanty and darker. I gripped the sides of the car seat in fear when he stopped in front of a small cabin surrounded by trees.

"I'll be here waiting. He won't be back until 30 minutes. You go in there and do whatever you have to do. Here's all the information you need," he gave me a brown paper bag and I snatched it from him in anger. "Keep that attitude in check. I'll be here." I reached for the handle of the door.

The street was quiet and derelict. I stopped just before the entrance of the small woods and stared back at Kai who ignored my gaze and stared ahead. I walked towards the small cabin that stood out amongst the nicotine brown trees that stood tall and proud and were staring at me like silent sentries. I knocked at the door, the sound tintinnabulated for what seemed like forever. I got tired of waiting for the girl who would probably be in a wheel chair to open the door, so I twisted the handle and welcomed myself in.

The faint sound of SpongeBob played at the back of a girl in a pink wheelchair who stared at me like I had grown two heads.

"Hi." I greeted awkwardly and shut the door quietly. She kept one hand on the hand rim and one hand on a phone.

"Who are you?" She asked but her finger was on a number she was about to call. I couldn't help but bring out the ERMA SR-100 out of my coat and point it to her.

"Drop the phone." I ordered and she shakily pressed the call button making me to cuss profanities as I pulled the trigger next to the TV making her to scream so loud with her head in her arms as it exploded into white sparks. "I fucking told you to drop the phone, was it too hard?" I asked.

"No!" She screamed and I sighed and took the phone from her, cutting the call immediately the receiver answered. I waited for her to control her fast breathing as I observed the living. No cameras. Just family pictures and two couches.

"What's your name?" I asked her and she sniffled and rubbed her wet eyes with her pink sleeve.

"Jada," she replied and I bit my lip in guilt and turned around to drop the paper bag on the couch. I put my short hair in a ponytail and brought out the black bob wig that I kept in my coat pocket.

"Okay Jada, I'm Edana and I'm not gonna hurt you." I told her, still not facing her. I felt guilty that I was lying to her.

"Promise?"

I bit my lip to stop the tears that were forming, "I promise." I nodded and turned around to face her. I opened the paper bag and found two ropes. I brought out one that I could use to tie her to the wheel chair and kept the other one for her father.

"Why are you here?" She asked once I tightened the rope on her wrist and I sighed. Kids these days were smarter than us teenagers.

"I just need your father to transfer some money." I crypted.

"But that isn't fair. Papa's saving for my leg surgery," she whined and I glared at her.

"What's fair is me doing this, risking my life to save the people I love from dying! That's what's fucking fair!" I yelled and watched as she flinched in fear and casted her eyes to the ground. Better.

I leaned against the wall of the living room, and stared at her in awkwardness as we both waited for her father to return.

Yes I know this was intense!

Not because it was bigger than my room at Jack and I's rented apartment, but because I had noticed that things had changed the moment I got sent out of the mansion. I wasn't the old Po anymore who relied on hiding my powers from the world and keeping shut when I was insulted. I was the new Po that killed innocent and non innocent people to save the people that were close to me."We'll be going out now," I flinched when I heard Aunt Rory's voice and I glared at the smug smile she had on her face as she peeked into my room. "Behave yourself till we get back Aye? Your new parents will be arriving with us." She shut the door and I sighed in tiredness. I heard noises outside a

"Go find out what your father is doing." She ordered and I nodded and jumped down from the high chair before leaving the kitchen to find Jack. I dreaded going to his room. He was so mean to me."Jack?" I nodded on the door of the room and heard no reply from him. I didn't want to be rude and open his door without any permission so I leaned my ear against the door so I could hear what was going on inside. I heard his voice finally, but he sounded like he was crying. My eyebrows furrowed in worry so I opened the door and g

She said and my eyes widened in shock."Shit." I muttered when I heard the roaring of an engine go off. I reached for the handle of her wheelchair, and wheeled her into her kitchen after turning of the light in the living room which her father must have never failed to notice. I set the mini laptop I had in my coat pocket on the counter in the middle of the kitchen, and turned off the light. I motioned for her not to make any noise with my index finger across my lips and waited for him to show his face.

I stared at the fancy drinks arranged behind the lanky blonde haired bartender who Finneas was negotiating something I knew nothing of. I needed to leave immediately. This wasn't the 'bunking' I expected. Old men that sat on the big sofas with brown tables filling up the spaces all stared at me. I guess they didn't expect two teenagers with their backpacks hung on their backs to be in a dangerous place like this."You owe me one Finn. You're lucky my boss isn't in town," the blonde haired punched Finneas on his shoulder and he gave off a laugh, one I knew very much to be fake. He handed Finneas a bottle of alcohol and I narrowed my eyes at the drink. What was he up to?"Thanks Cal. C'mon Po," he tugged my hand t

I had woken up early so I could get to school and be the first and maybe only person to wish him a happy return. Just as I stood in front of the gate, I plastered a grin on my face the moment I saw his mom's beetle pull up in front of the school. He got out with gray loose hoodie and black jeans on. He never wore dark colored clothes and that drew my attention. His expression was emotionless and dull."Leroy!" I jumped, "welcome back." I smiled at him. He walked past
