Chapter 11

Selena

After a long night between Noah's arms, I realized that I should get up and move away from here or be in love and suffering soon from heart ache because of this man I know nothing about except that he owns most of Italy. And of course, I do have feelings about his real identity from what I saw. He looks like a dangerous man who controls almost everything and everyone around him.

But my parents depend on me, I can't rely on Noah. I can't bend my neck under his feet, especially him. I can't lose my dignity now at least. I still have more time to risk with, I do have some time to handle my troubles.

I pulled myself from the bed slowly after I filled my eyes with his features, I sneaked on my tiptoes packing my clothes. I would leave, but I thought someone stubborn like him would try to find me by way or another. So I decided to leave a small note for Noah, I wasn't sure if he might be interested to find me after waking up or not. But I guessed that someone who has this strong personality will hate the feeling of being rejected, that's why I didn't have a better option than writing a small note to him.

Dear Noah, sorry but I left my country and my parents to reach my target. I can't waste my time anymore. I can't be selfish. I couldn't let myself fall in love with you. But let fate ride our ways, if we are meant to be together and meet each other again then let it be. But for now, I can't stay anymore. Thank you for our time and care and your room. I finished writing the paper, I tied it and left it next to him on the bed. I placed a soft kiss on his forehead and lugged my bags sneaking on my tiptoes to not wake him up.

I know that guards were already waiting outside the door and they might prevent me from walking on more steps, but I'm a writer, after all, creativity is my life. I opened the door slowly and shushed the men before blurting out with one word.

"Mr. Noah is so tired, he wants me to go buy something for him and he asked me to tell all of you to not disturb him," I informed them. Somehow I convinced them by my facial expressions, I guess being a writer made me discover how to act even in real life.

I dashed off to the hotel hurriedly, I waved to stop a taxi or to be honest I almost threw my body in the middle of the street to stop the taxi because I didn't want any of Noah guards to spot the taxi or stop me anyhow.

"Please move Now, Sorry I'm a foreigner." I hopped in the taxi and said vast.

The driver smirked, "Well, that's obvious to the blind."

I wasn't in a good mood to start a quarrel with anyone especially this driver is my savior now, he will drive me away. I was smiling all the way after giving the driver the address that I wanted to reach. Actually, I was kind of late to my meeting, but what happened last night made my head puzzled and I was so stressed that's why I fell asleep after crying for a long time.

I was supposed to meet them late last night, but I called them and delayed the meeting.

Finally, the driver halted the car and turned his head after giving me a huge smirk "Well, this is the company,"

I nod and peeked at the huge building, I blew a sigh of relief "Okay, but could you do me a favor? I need you to wait for me, I have my bags and I can't go there for my important meeting with those bags." I asked him politely.

He rubbed his chin "I guess I can wait, I am a helpful man." He nodded.

"Thank you, sir." I thanked him then I adjusted my clothes. I didn't have much time to wear a formal suit so I hope it will be okay in this white dress.

I stepped inside the building confidently, I strode closer to the reception girl "Excuse me miss, I have a meeting with the CEO of this company," I informed her.

She scrolled down the names in front of her screen and raised her head "Oh yes, miss Selena, right?" She draws a sweet wide smile.

I nodded "Yes, it's me," She waved to someone to show me the way to the meeting room or the CEO's office.

Until that moment I have no idea who is the CEO of this publishing company. Still, before leaving my country I searched for publishing countries that might have interest in my books but could pay highly because I can't depend on those other companies that I used to publish with. I've collected a high spread of my books and wide distribution and this raised my name a lot till I reached the sky but with less money or in another meaning it was almost for free all the time.

The man walked in front of me to the elevator and I trailed him step by step until we reached level 32, we walked off the elevator for almost two minutes through a wide corridor until we reached a huge door.

The man knocked on the door and opened it to me when he left. He gestured to me to wait inside. And I did. But I didn't find anyone. It was a huge office that contained a roundtable for meetings and a huge lounge. Luxuries were everywhere in this place but I wasn't impressed, I am supposed to be at the A-Class level but with no money now.

While I was looking around me through the wide window puzzled with my thoughts and hoping for a chance in this country. I heard a door crack and someone coughs.

I turned my body and my head, I almost lost the ability to talk and dropped my jaw flabbergasted. "STEVEN?! IS THAT KIND OF JOKE?!" I hollered loudly.

Steven stared shockingly "Selena?! Is that you?! The action author!" He blinked and questioned in a thunderstruck. I remembered that he didn't know and almost not anyone knew about my books because I am writing with a pen name.

I huffed losing the ability to think, now my life is in his hands, what should I do?! He is the CEO and I paid a lot to travel to this country. I don't know what I should go now and where?! And I can't return to Noah either. Because I might be just clung to him, he might think I am with him for money and I hate this feeling. I didn't use anyone in my whole life and now I can't do it with the one I like.

I snapped to myself to come back from my bewildered mind "Yes Steven, it's me. You didn't know?"

Steven stepped closer and shook his head "No, I swear! But why and How?"

"I have to go Now." I blurted out passing him to leave his office.

He pulled my arm stopping me "Why do you treat me like this?! I love you, Selena! Don't interfere with business with personal life! I asked you to meet me as a CEO to sign a contract because I do like your work! You are the best!" He explained to me.

I blew a deep sigh "I can't split both of my life and my business! You used to be my boyfriend. I can't let you control my life! I can't let you choke me!"

I pushed his hand and stormed off his office running away for the second time in the same day, No in the same hour, with no plans for me, with no clear future to stand on. I was barely breathing. my heart was rapidly beating. I know he might follow me, but he might think I will go back to Noah's hotel so he won't find me either.

I was running like a thief afraid of being caught, I wonder why I'm an unlucky person? I'm not the only sinner! Everyone does wrong things to learn from his mistakes but why me this time! why I'm the only one who struggles alone in this life! I did like Steven at the beginning, I even thought of pressing on my parents to accept our marriage but he betrayed me and I hate this kind of man.

But I hated him, I forgot about us especially after meeting Noah. with Noah, I was feeling like a butterfly that only flies on flowers and surrounded by the best scents ever. I like dreaming even when I am angry at a word he said. Even when he was throwing me with millions of questions simultaneously, I hated so much. When someone teases me, I hate when someone keeps asking me like a bee or insect trying to pull a word from my mouth. but with Noah, I was feeling different emotions. I hate one night and night, but with him, it was like a night for good memories that will make me feel alive for a long time. I don't regret what I did with him. But on the contrary, I am afraid that I might regret leaving him forever.

I strode out of the taxi company, and I found him waiting for me in the parking lot. I got into the taxi "Hey, Go Now." I commanded him, trying to hide my tears that wanted to roll down my cheeks deadly.

But I guess my red eyes exposed me to him, he turned his head "That was fast you know?!"

I nodded "Yes! The CEO is my ex-boyfriend!" I don't know why I told him, but he was a very nice guy. He smiled slightly, "Be strong, don't be depressed, tears won't help you." Somehow his words encouraged me and gave me hope.

I raised my head and smiled "Thank you. Please I want to rent a small room and I want you to be my driver in those days, you do know how to talk in English and don't want to look like an idiot." I asked him.

He narrowed his eyes"You could rent a room in my house, I need a roommate after all. Don't worry I have a huge house, but I needed money that's why I am working on this taxi." He explained to me.

I didn't think twice "Okay, I will take it. I just need to leave the bags and change my clothes, then I need you to drive me to the best nightclub in this country."

He widened his eyes "Nightclub?! You mean Casino?! Because we call it a Casino here." He asked me in curiosity.

"Whatever, I need the best, Now show me my room Mr roommate." I chuckled, winking at me. After talking with him for a while I noticed how beautiful he looked, he was almost more pretty than me. I don't know if he is a straight man or not.

But someone like him with breathtaking features and body could be anything he likes.

Finally, he stopped by a mansion, he raised his hand motioning to me "Here Miss, This is my house. By the way, What's your Name?"

"Lily... My name is lily." Well, a small white lie might save me.

"I'm Franco." He shook hands with me and helped me with my bags. I was shocked when I entered his house. Too big as he said, for a moment I thought he was a liar and he was working here as a servant or something, but his pictures were everywhere on the walls of the house with his parents and his friends.
