Chapter 4

Kaede went home already instead of staying with Mayleia, he does not like the girl but he still want to save her for he is the reason why she had the disease. 

He has no really plans of getting close with the girl because of his older brother, he knows Allerick really likes that girl ever since he saw her, but he has no choice but to try to save her.

He sighed and opened his laptop. Everytime he gets frustrated, he always read that specific book in a very famous writing platform. The book wasn't famous, however, he really does like it.

The book was entitled as Those Three Words by Ms_Veda, he has the chance to talk with the author of the book through the author's message board, even thou he didn't see the author personally, he surely likes the author of that book, that's why he was never interested in girls.

He discovered the book when he was still in sophomore, and he enjoys reading it but then lately, the author stopped updating her book, that kinda made Kaede feel sad so he just re-read the book from the start.

No matter how many times he reads it, it still captivates him, it brings emotion to him that he never felt before. While he was reading the book, his phone rang, without checking the caller's ID, he picked it up.

"Kaede, come to the hospital again, Leia is becoming worse." it's his brother. He sighed and rolled his eyes before hanging up and leaving their house to go back to the hospital. He has no choice.

It was only a few minutes, and he found himself standing right infront of Mayleia's room. He was about to enter when he heard his brother's voice inside. "Do you really like Kaede?" Allerick asked.

"Yes. I do." he heard Liea's voice. "He was mysterious and aloof. I know it's not really common for a high school girl to like someone like him but I just can't help myself." he heard.

"Really? Is that the reason why you don't want to undergo surgery?" 

"No, not really. I don't like surgery, because it sounds unjust. I don't want to fell out of love through it, because I may never feel love anymore if ever it was gone."

"That's sounds really ridiculous."

"I know, but in anyways, we're all just gonna die so I don't fear death. I missed my dad too." even thou Leia sounded cheerful, Kaede felt her sadness, and fear.

"There would be few to feel sad if that happens, but one day we're all gonna see each other again." Leia added and let out a cheerful laugh. When he heard no response from Allerick, he entered.

"Kaede?" Leia asked, "I thought you left already?" she added. Kaede felt it, he felt her happiness to see him standing right infront of her. He smiled. "I just took a walk outside." he lied, "How are you?" he asked, and sat beside Leia.

He looked at Allerick and he can see jealousy in his brother's eyes. "I wish it was me." Allerick blurted out that surely confused Leia. "What do you mean, doctor?" the lady asked, but Allerick just smiled and leave.

"What's with him?" Leai asked but even Kaede didn't answer. For sure, Kaede really knows what his brother meant by that. "C'mon, just rest now." Kaede said with a soft voice. Leia smiled at him.

"Go home. You need to do this." Leia said for the second time. Kaede sighed, "What exactly do you mean, Leia?" he asked. "You don't need to pay me visit. No one requires you to do so." Leia answered.

"I know, but I'm worried." he insisted.

"If ever my friends told you that it's your fault why I'm here, just don't mind them. You don't need to feel guilty or what just because of them." Leia said and patted his shoulder.

"Hanahaki is a disease born from unrequited love, and it's not your fault that I like you that much." Leia said causing Kaede's go red.

"I'm sleeping." she said and lied down. 

Mayleia's Point of View

I woke up with the noise I heard around. I heard two people arguing, and it stopped me from getting off my bed. "Kaede? Leave now!" it was Arcelli's voice. "Leai doesn't need you!" it was Morrigan.

"I'm here to help her recover." Kaede argued.

"And how?" Arcelli peevishly asked.

"You do know she likes me, then maybe if she sees me everyday, then maybe she can...she can survive." Kaede lowly said.

"Oh really? Do you like her then?" Morrigan asked.

"Let me remind you Zevida, it won't heal our friend." Morrigan added, and that's when I woke up from my bed before Morrigan gets mad. "Hey, you're here!" I happily exclaimed and hugged them both.

The two really don't look happy and they're still giving Kaede a death glare but I just didn't mind them and pulled Kaede with me out of the room. "Leave now. They'll just make you uncomfortable." I said.

"No. You told me not to mind them so I'll stay." he insisted and entered the room again. This is stressing the hell out of me! 

Without any choice, I enter my room and sat in the bed. The atmosphere of the other three inside the room feel tense. Morrigan and Arcelli crossed their arms in their chests and glaring at Kaede while he peel off some fruits. "Hmm, Leia, this is favorite right?" Kaede suddenly spoke showing me some oranges.

"Say ah." he said trying to feed me with it. "What the?! Leave her alone!" Arcelli exclaimed pushing Kaede away and peel off another orange again and sweetly handed it to me. "Eat that one. It's better." she said.

I laughed. These people, they're unbelievable. I saw Kaede's face went blank again. He sat beside me and get the oranges that Arcelli gave me out of hands and throw it away. "Eat this." he said and put a piece in my mouth. He gave Arcelli a cold look.

"I'm here to take care of her so if you don't mind. Just be on yourselves and keep glaring at me!" he coldly said and look back directly at my eyes. "Tell them I'm taking care of you."

My heart skip a beat. I can almost hear it. With our eyes locked up to each other, everything seems to fade away and all I can see is his normal emotionless face, however it made my chest in pain again. 

I looked away trying to hide the pain, but no matter how hard I try to hide, the petals won't allow me. I coughed a few times again freaking Arcelli ang Morrigan out, while Kaede caressed my back and reached for the tissue on the table and wiped my mouth off.

"I promise, I won't be shocked again." he calmly said and smiled while wiping my face. "Hmm, should I bring wet wipes? It's kinda hard to wipe the blood around your mouth." he said.

I didn't say a word nor my friends did. We aren't talking, we just let him do what he's doing. After that, he look at my friends. "If you would just let me, there will be no problem." he said and put the tissue back on the table.

Arcelli and Morringan didn't speak for they are still shock. "And you, you don't have to chase me away." he said and caressed my hair. "I'll buy us food." he said and walk out.

"Oh my god! Oh my god! Oh my god! Is that really Kaede? When did he became that sweet? Is he already your boyfriend?" Arcelli asked.

"No-"

"Then what? He is just here to take care of you for nothing?" Morrigan butt in.

"Uhm, well, I don't know-"

"Then ask him!" they both exclaimed.

Few minutes later, Kaede came back with the foods he bought. My friends is looking at me with eagerness in their eyes. "Ask him" Morrigan mouthed. 

I just looked down and let him prepare the food. "Hmm, Leia, you love pasta right?" Kaede suddenly asked so I nodded, but one question was formed in my mind. "Ugh, how did you know?" I asked.

He just smiled and didn't say anything. "You two," he coldly said and looked at my friends who seemed startled of Kaede's sudden gaze to them. "Yes?" they both nervously asked. "I don't know what you like so I just bought whatever I saw on the cafe." he explained.

Both of nodded a multiple times and said it's fine, causing me laugh at them but stop laughing quickly when Kaede sat infront of me placing the fork infront of my mouth. "Eat up, you didn't have lunch." he said so I just opened my mouth and swallow the pasta.

He smiled as I did it. I just noticed, when it comes to me, he smiles while on others, he won't even show them a smile. 

I smiled but as soon as I did, my chest tightened and it feels like there's something heavy inside that made me feel so hard to breathe. I pressed my hand against my chest and grip Kaede's hand for I can not grasp for air.

"Leia? Leia, what's happening?" Kaede asked, even my friends came near me but as usual, I can't answer them.

My lungs started to feel like it's shrinking, when suddenly I coughed again, and this time, I know my illness have gotten worse.

I ungrip Kaede's hand as I stare at the whole rose flower covered by blood on my bed.
