CHAPTER 10: Silk Dress

2020-11-06 21:18:16I woke up the next morning feeling so energized and refreshed. I don’t know when my parents are meeting Kyle but it’s enough of a motivation for me. I went downstairs and saw my parents having breakfast already.
Good morning Dear, did you sleep well?” Mom said.
“Good morning Mom Dad.” I said. “Aren’t you busy today?”
“We are. But we’ll be home for dinner tonight.” Mom said.
“That’s good.” I said.
“Anyway, I reserved a dinner at our favorite restaurant for tomorrow. You and Kyle shouldn’t be late.” Mom said.
“Really? Wow. Thanks Mom. Thanks Dad.” I said as I hugged them.
“Let’s eat.” Dad said.
We ate in silence and I couldn’t hide my happiness. I finished my breakfast and prepared for work. I texted Kyle because I couldn’t contain my excitement anymore. I drove to the office and as soon as I got there, I worked immediately. I don’t want to be bombarded with work tomorrow since I’ll be meeting my boyfriend.
“Excuse me ma’am, do you want me to get you something for lunch?” Fatima said.
“Yes please. I have a lot of work to do today so I won’t have time to go out.” I said. “Thanks Fatima.”
“No problem Ma’am.” She said. “I’ll go get you lunch.”
I waited for lunch and it came sooner than I expected. After lunch, I got back to work and finished everything at around four in the afternoon. I was about to go home when I thought of tomorrow’s dinner. I decided to drop by the nearest mall to buy a dress for tomorrow. I can’t wait for us to be legal to my parents. I chose a silk blue dress for tomorrow just perfect for a formal dinner. After buying the dress I decided to call Marga and ask her if we could hang out.
“Hello Cass?” I said.
“Hi. Are you busy?” I asked her.
“No. Why? I’m so bored do you want to hang out? My students are stressing me out.” She said.
“That’s exactly why I called! I’ve been strolling the mall all by myself. I said.
“Why? Where’s Kyle?” she asked.
“Well, he has work and I don’t want to disturb him. Will you come? Let’s have coffe.” I said.
“Sure. Just text me where and I’ll be there.” She said.
“Okay I will. Thanks.” I said.
I texted here my location and I patiently waited for her. I sat by the nearest table from the door. I can see some of the staffs of the coffee shop staring at me. I looked at my face in the mirror and it was okay there was no dirt or something. They offered me the menu but I declined since I am waiting for someone. A few minutes after, Marga came. People at the coffee shop looked at her like she is some kind of a model. I stood up for her to see me. She immediately walked towards me.
“Hi. Have you ordered already?” she asked me as she gave me a hug.
“No. I waited for you.” I said and I called for the waiter. We were given the menu and we said our orders.
“You’re so gorgeous. Did you see the way people looked at you?” I said.
“I’m just in a good mood today so I decided to dress up. Anyway, I’m sure people looked at you that way too. You’re more gorgeous.” She said.
“You’re bluffinf.” I said.
“No, I’m not. The staffs here as you can see are mesmerized by your beauty but sorry for them you have a Kyle already.” She said.
“You’re funny. Speaking of Kyle, my parents invited him for dinner tomorrow.” I said.
“Wow I hope that’s a good news.” She said.
“I hope so too.” I said. “I hope they will get along well tomorrow.”
Our orders arrived and my coffee lover self is so happy just by the smell of the coffee.
“Smells good.” Marga said.
“Heavenly.” I said.
“So do you think my dad would finally accept our relationship?” I asked her.
“If Kyle is a good person as you say he is, then why not?” she said.
“Kyle is a good person. There’s no doubt about that.
“You seem very in love. I’m happy for you. I really am.” She said.
“Thank you. I’m happy too. I’ve never been this happy.” I said.
“I hope I could find my own version of Kyle too someday.” She said.
“You will. Why not? You’re every man’s dream.” I said.
“You really are my friend.” She said and she laughed at my remark.
We talked about a lot of things including her suitors and her works. We went shopping because she wants to buy new dresses for her dates soon.
