CHAPTER 3

The battlefield gets even more intense with demons getting more infuriated with their losses, the chosen seem to have the upper hand with more and more demons falling at their hands. Marcel seems to be having the time of his life cutting down demons with his staff, causing more chaos has he broke through their ranks with immense speed, one of the demon generals who seems to have lost his cool immediately attacks Marcel with a red lightening bolt, Marcel just manages to dodge it and steadies himself 

DEMON GENERAL #4 : I have had enough of this, I will kill you and go on to do the same with your companions 

MARCEL : Oh… that seems rather ominous, I guess I’m gonna have to stop you here and now to prevent such a grim fate from befalling my teammates and I… ( with a sarcastic voice) 

Marcel readies himself and gets into battle stance 

DEMON GENERAL #4 : You insolent human 

The general rushes towards Marcel with killer intent, Marcel dodges the first swing of his blade and blocks the second with his staff, the general sorts to crush him with his brute strength has he presses down on him with his cleaver 

DEMON GENERAL #4 : Kneel before me vermin, kneel before your overlord

MARCEL : Hmm…  ( with a smug look) 

Marcel smiles and proceeds to counter, he pushes back the general with some difficulty before then putting up his palm towards him 

MARCEL : Heavenly art : geo force 

A tremendous force immediately pulls down the demon general and forces him to his knees 

DEMON GENERAL #4 : what is this power?? ( with a pained expression) 

MARCEL : This is the power of a vermin ( with a smirk on his face) 

Marcel rushes towards the general and runs through him swiftly, the general is cut into two clean halves with his upper half falling first before the lower half followed 

UNKNOWN FIGURE : That’s enough!!!! 

A loud thunderous voice echoes through the battlefield bringing all action to a halt, the demons begin to retreat and settle at the origin of the voice, The chosen and Holy knights are taken aback by this and begin to wonder who it was that owned the voice 

HOLY KNIGHT #4 : Who the hell is that?? 

HOLY KNIGHT #5 : that voice worries me greatly…

The chosen converge around Elijah and set their eyes on the location that the voice had originated from 

UNKNOWN FIGURE : This will no longer be tolerated, your kind shall not continue to shame the forces of hell, you all shall be exterminated at once 

ELIJAH : Who are you?? 

UNKNOWN FIGURE : I am Paimon, One of the greatest earls of hell, most loved of our dark god Lucifer, leader of the largest legions of demons…. You have done wrong by trying to oppose my forces in their mission and now you all shall pay the ultimate price 

ELIJAH : Oh wow, I’m quite amazed that an earl of hell would be kind enough to grace us with his presence but you should know that your presence will not change the fate of your subordinates if you don’t leave here right now ( in a menacing tone) 

PAIMON : hmm, is that so??

Paimon steps out into the view of the chosen and the knights so as to survey the surrounding, he seems humanoid albeit with red eyes and slit irises as well as big black bat wings with tattoos around his body that most couldn’t make out, he had two small horns protruding from his head and his claws were quite visible and sharp. 

PAIMON : Die!! 

Paimon puts up his hand and causes a large dark cloud to form just above him, red lightening sparking out of it, it muddles together to form a mega bolt that he aimed towards the church 

ELIJAH : He’s trying to destroy the church 

HOLY KNIGHT #6 : Stop him!!! 

CELIA : don’t worry,  I’ll take care of it……. Heavenly art : walls of Jericho 

Large walls of earth come in front of the church just in time to block Paimon’s attack ,the chosen see the intent of their new adversary and immediately set themselves for an encounter 

PAIMON : you lot are truly something else, I’ll have to take care of you here ( With a menacing voice) 

ELIJAH : you know my wife is currently in there giving birth and I’m trying to make her delivery as safe as possible, I’d lie and say I really wanna protect the civilians as well but my first priority is my wife and unborn child but you just tried to murder both of them along with countless others all in a bid to prove a point, I can’t forgive that neither can I forgive you, I’ll make you pay for trying to hurt the ones I care about, I promise you that… 

PAIMON : ( With a loud laugh with his subordinates joining in)…. Do you really think this is is some game, boy… how dare you threaten an earl, what can you possibly do to me?? 

ELIJAH : ( With his right palm upraised with a bright blurb of light emanating from it)…. Why don’t you come here and find out ( in a scary tone)……. Divine light : living embodiment 

Paimon creates an energy ball and sends it towards Elijah at supersonic speed, the other chosen step back a bit before the ball makes impact and causes a massive explosion, with shock waves that pushes the chosen even further from Elijah’s position, Paimon’s subordinates begin to laugh as they are bout to swarm on the other chosen but are soon blinded by a bright light emanating from where the ball had made impact… 

ELIJAH : I was expecting more from that blast but it seems I overestimated you…. ( has he dusts off his body with a smile)  

Elijah is unharmed by the blast and his being has changed completely with his body glowing with a bright white light, he had also gained a jacket made of pure light with light flakes floating out of him, dark lines marked around his body creating a sense of divinity from his person 

PAIMON : what is this?? ( with shock on his face) 

ELIJAH : Let me show you… ( with a serious expression) 

Elijah plants his feet into the ground and moves quicker than the eyes can see, moving at light speed he appears in front of Paimon before he can react and plants a punch that launches the earl over a hundred meters away, causing devastation as he flew and a bigger explosion as he makes impact on the earth, other demons try to attack him but he creates spikes out of light and impales every single one of them, he moves towards where Paimon had landed quickly, the other chosen immediately engage the rest of Paimon’s forces… 

Paimon gets to his feet and dusts himself, he takes a look around taking in the destruction caused by one strike from the chosen 

PAIMON : I must be wary of these humans… they might prove to be quite troublesome ( he mutters to himself ) 

Elijah drops a few meters from where Paimon stood and sized up his foe, he smirks before getting into a fighting stance, Paimon squints his eyes before opening up his hands and creating red energy balls crackling with electricity 

PAIMON : I’ll make you pay for that punch 

ELIJAH : Oh… I didn’t really think it hurt so bad ( with a sarcastic voice) 

Paimon rages and begins to launch a barrage of energy balls at Elijah but he seems to have no trouble with dodging them has he rushes towards Paimon, Paimon puts up his hands and blocks a kick from Elijah before trying to land one of his own, Elijah catches his punch and lands one of his own which sends Paimon flying a few meters back, Paimon gets even more enraged and takes strides towards Elijah, breaking the sound barrier with ease, the earth beneath him breaks has he moves towards Elijah, Elijah and Paimon clash with their fists creating massive shock waves in their surroundings, Paimon throws a blow at Elijah which is met with a block from Elijah’s arm causing Elijah to be sent flying a few meters but he is able to steady himself on his feet with relative ease

ELIJAH : you know I was actually expecting more from a supposed earl of hell, I guess you are a fraud 

PAIMON : How dare you….. Feel my wrath you human scum 

Paimon is vexed by Elijah’s antics and immediately sets off to punishing him, putting his palm down he summons a hellish beast with three heads and nine tails, it looked like a dog but much more ferocious and deadly with black fur and red irises the beast towered over Elijah at a whooping ten meters, it’s roar sent massive shock waves from where they stood to the church, disrupting the battle taking place in front of the church building

PAIMON : Hell summons : Cerberus… Now I’ll show you the real power of an archdemon

ELIJAH : This is gonna end badly if we keep on fighting here, I need to take this fight elsewhere now ( muttering to himself) 

PAIMON : Come at me boy, if you’ve got the guts….

ELIJAH : This place is a little too cramped for such an encounter… how about a bargain, I heard you devils love a good bargain 

PAIMON : I’m listening….(with arched eyebrows) 

ELIJAH : Great …so how about we have a duel to decide the fate of this battlefield, if I win you have to retreat with your forces but if you win, well you can destroy the church… you get to choose whichever location you prefer but not here

PAIMON : You’re extremely cocky for a mere mortal, why would I accept such a bargain??

ELIJAH : you will if you want to prove that you are not scared… don’t tell me you’re scared I’m gonna win 

PAIMON : You insolent pest, do you really think you will shame a great earl such as myself in this way, I agree to your proposal and I’ll make you regret making such a bargain with me… 

ELIJAH : Great… so where do you wanna go?? ( Quite uninterested with the threat being made by Paimon )…thank God he agreed, I don’t know what I would have done if he hadn’t ( muttering to himself with a sigh) 

PAIMON : Teleport
