Come along?

I didn't hear from him for three more weeks. But I was sure that he was fine. Still, it was funny, the more time went by, the more I had to think about him and think about us, was he exactly like that? He must have had other things on his mind at the moment than worrying about me.

Today was Saturday and my parents and I were on the way to see my aunt Ines, who was celebrating her birthday today. I had called David last night, who asked me if I would come with him.

We were standing in front of the front door and my father rang the doorbell while my mother fidgeted nervously, because she had been looking forward to today because she hadn't seen my aunt Ines, her big sister, in months. I noticed again and again how much the two missed each other. The door was opened immediately and the two women immediately hugged each other, laughing, so that my father looked at me with a smile and a slight shake of his head. I smiled and snaked past them so that my father followed me. Only when we were both standing in the hallway did my mother let go of Ines. Then she turned to us and my mother closed the door. She smiled at me.

"Jolina, we missed you, nice to see you again." I continued to smile at my aunt and then hugged her and wished her all the best for her birthday. Then it was finally my father's turn and Ines led us into the living room. My father took my mother by the hand and I followed them. When I arrived in the living room, I looked around briefly. It was pretty crowded here, just as I thought it would be. My parents greeted my uncle and just as he saw me David came to us and hugged me.

"Hey, Jolina, how are you?" I had to laugh because he was so stormy.

"Good, good." I said immediately and we let go then he went to my parents. So that I went to my uncle. Just as I was hugging him, my eyes fell on someone sitting on the sofa looking over at us. Our eyes met. Nick actually sat there and smiled at me. I returned his smile, completely perplexed, and my heart began to race until my uncle broke away from the hug. And my father spoke to me and I had to look away from Nick.

"Sheri give me your coat." I nodded and took it off and handed it to my father, who then looked around and said softly.

"Where did your mother go all of a sudden?" I had to laugh. Of course, she immediately disappeared to chat with Aunt Ines.

"Jolina you come with something to drink." I heard David next to me. I nodded and looked at my father.

"Have fun looking." He smiled at me and walked out of the living room.

"I think the two gossip aunts went into the bedroom." I nodded with a smile and then followed him into the kitchen. When we got back into the living room I looked again at Nick who was now standing at the window and was talking to some man I didn't know. David noticed my look.

"Hey, I invited him. I hope that's okay? ”I nodded, of course it was okay.

“He's back last night. He's fine and called me because he wanted to talk to me. We talked into the night and then I invited him for today so that he is not alone. I didn't tell him you were coming, but he probably thought so anyway. ”I looked over at Nick again.

"Did .. did he ask about me or said something?" I wanted to know, but David shook his head which hurt me a lot, probably he had already finished with me. That hurt me. David looked at me.

"Did we sit down?" Without answering, I followed him. When we had just sat down, David got a text message and then began to smile as he let her through. I had to grin.

"Your new girlfriend?" He shook his head and wrote back. When he put the phone away, we looked at each other.

"And won't you tell me who she is?"

"Who?" Was his stupid answer.

"Well, your new girlfriend." Sighed.

"I don't have a girlfriend, you know that." I shook my head.

“But then I heard something completely different. Why are you hiding them? ”David started to laugh.

"First of all, I'm not hiding anyone and secondly, she's not my girlfriend, we're just meeting for the moment." I grinned at him.

"There's nothing more to say about it." I held up my hands.

"Okay, I understand." David then immediately changed the subject.

A while later my aunt said that there was now something to eat and that we should all help ourselves in the kitchen. David and I got up together, but I continued down the hall to the bathroom. I still had to inject insulin because of my sugar. After I got out of the bathroom I saw Nick who was pulling his car key out of his trouser pocket. I got a little nervous but then I walked up to him.

"Hi." Nick looked up and then discovered me and came up to me too, so that we stopped about a meter away from each other.

"Hey Jolie." He smiled slightly at me. I didn't know what to say now and my eyes slid down and the key back up to me a lot.

"Are you going?" I looked at him again. He shook his head.

"I'll get a bowl for Ines." A bowl? I looked at him confused. He started smiling again.

“When I moved out at home I didn't have any kitchen things and Ines gave me a few things that she no longer needed, there was a large party bowl and now she's missing one and I told her I would get it for her. " I nodded.

"So ... see you later?" Just as I said that, it was thundering outside. we both looked towards the door. Then I noticed that Nick was looking at me again.

" Do you want to come along? Then we can talk. There's a lot you want to know, and I owe you a few more answers. ”I wasn't sure. He seemed to notice that because he smiled weakly at me and then took his jacket that hung next to us on the banister.

"It won't take me long, maybe we can talk later if you want." I was still staring at him. Then he put on his jacket and turned away from me.
