Then on Wednesday evening my cell phone rang. I was amazed when I saw that it was Sven who called me.

"Hey Sven." I greeted him.

"I just met Jess, she told me how nice your weekend was," he told me.

"Yes, right, it was really great ... and ... how was yours?" Why I asked that.

"Were you at work with him?" I asked.

"Nick was in a bad mood again and argued with David when he found out that you weren't coming this weekend and that Jess and Lara drove to you. We had to carry him out ... he passed out on the way to see David, so we thought about calling an ambulance. But Noah and David were against it, because otherwise there would have been real stress and anger. Jonas somehow got Nick to throw up everything and then we put him to sleep and checked every half hour whether he was okay. “I couldn't believe that what Sven was telling me was all too much for me. “He just sneaked out the next morning so that David drove to him to check on him. Because he was the first of us up and he called us and said that we should come to Nick immediately. David found ... he found a syringe in Nick's sink ... one that is used to inject heroin. He thought that was why he passed out. But Noah has confirmed Nick's testimony that it was still unused. "No idea you have to decide that yourself." I noticed that he was uncomfortable.

“Of course I'll do that right away. Until then, Jo. ”I paused for a moment. That was the first time he didn't call me Jolina. Nick was the only one who called me Jo or Jolie, although Jess sometimes said Jo to me when she was drunk. But no one else.

"See you then." I hung up. What a shit! What if Nick was not doing well, when he got so drunk that ... I had to stop thinking about that. He was fine! I was sure of that.

I was at David for the first time after two weeks. He was happy that I had come, but I still didn't see him all weekend. Jess had told me that David met someone last weekend. But she didn't know who she was. Neither of the others had met her. David had been out with his work colleagues and had met them in a bar. When I was on the train on the way home again on Sunday I thought about Nick. Jess hadn't heard from him either, so I took my cell phone out of my pocket and looked at it for a while, unsure whether I should really call him. Before I did it I suppressed my number and then dialed his number. As soon as it started to do my heart beat faster. I was kind of excited.

"Yes?" He answered. What should I say to him now? My heart beat faster and faster against my chest.

"Billy? Hello? ”Oh now he thought that I was his boss.

"Um ... no." I managed.

"Jo?" I let out a relieved breath, he didn't sound angry.

"Yes." We were silent for a moment.

"Why are you calling with a suppressed number?" He just wanted to know.

"Um, I thought you might not answer when you see me calling you." Silence on the other side of the line, so I was right.

"I ... was worried, no one tells me anything." I said without thinking. I asked David about him when I saw him briefly when I arrived. He just said that he was fine and that I shouldn't think about him any further. Sven said almost the same thing to me.

" I'm good. I'm ... with a friend. ”

“ What are you doing there? ”I wanted to know.

"I needed a little distance ... and rest to think." That didn't sound too bad after all.

"What about your work?" I asked further.

“Billy took me on leave. I still had overtime and he doesn't want me to come back until, as he said, I'm back to normal. ”He could be really happy to have such a boss.

We only spoke briefly, then I had to get out and we hung up.
