Chapter 9: City of ruins Pt. 2

Oza was unconscious but gabriela ran towards him while ori who arrived just in time to hold off arthur. Gabriela eventually found oza collapsed and bleeding out without any time to waste she go to healing oza

"Please.. hold on oza."

With oza he was in a tranquil place water beneath his feet, a cool gentle breeze brushing up against his skin, and an unless beautiful view.. Oza felt at peace being there only made him want to stay.. then he heard a very familiar voice..

"Ali?" There he saw ali floating around him with a smile on her face

"Hey, So what are you up to this time?"

"As you saw i'm up against a boss whose way harder than what i expected.. If only I was stronger.. then.. then gabriela wouldn't be suffering in my place.. it's just like back then.. i'm.. weak.." ali just smiled and grabbed oza's chin..

"You always act like the world's ending.. You have to stop this negative side to you. You're strong, when all hope seemed lost you stood up and fought again.. Look."

oza directed his attention to where she pointed and he saw were memories from his childhood with zeke.

"Come on oza! Let's play dungeons and adventurers!" a hyper active young zeke said to a frail oza

"Wait up!" desperately trying to catch up to his best friend but he still had that wide smile plastered on his face.. Then the memory switched to oza and zeke traveling together.

"Dang we got sidetracked again."

"Hey don't sweat it oza! The old lady needed help so we did what was needed."

That was the start and end of their journey to become adventurers, moving on the next memory was them getting trapped in the dungeon with no way out leaving oza as a sacrifice..

"Hahaha! You mongrels sure are entertaining! In desperate situations between life and death humans will do anything to survive even sacrificing one of their own.. It's quite amusing"

"I'm going to die.. My best friend just betrayed me.. what a cruel fate.."

"Mongrel as a king I know what it feels like to be betrayed by people you called comrades... but as a sacrifice i will make your death as quick and painless as possible call it mercy of a king if you may."

That horrifying experience turned into something worth living for and that moment and memory was meeting ali..

"My my, what a lovely thing to see. A rage begging to be set free, say boy, do you wish for vengeance?"

"What i wish for is to grow stronger.. It's all i ever wanted to be."

"Then do you wish for a second chance?"

"Yeah.. i do.."

After answering those three simple words oza's life turned around for the better. He may have faced hardships but he had ali there with him..

"Well i may not be human but, at the very least, you can put your trust in me."

Ali was there for him when he hit rock bottom showing him the way, helping him get past the walls that were put against him, being there when the odds were stacked against him.. then one final memory was in play. It was oza back in the town and he was just walking around admiring the night sky..

"I'll become stronger.. Ali believes in me.. she does the most trivial things for me.. she deals with my ranting and my mood swings. If it were anyone else.. they might have betrayed me too, but not her, she stood with me this far.. and i have to repay that with becoming stronger. I swear i'll protect those close to me"

The memories faded and oza was back with ali just smiling at him. Ali walked forward looking up at oza and held his cheek..

"Remember your reason for becoming stronger, now stand back up and fight."

everything faded to black and oza was gaining consciousness again when he came he saw gabriela healing him the green glow emanating from her hands were warm, after a few more minutes she stopped as oza tried to sit up with the help from gabriela who was catching her breath.

"Hey, take it easy you've done more than enough.."

"No.. i.. still have to finish this.."

"Are you really sure? I'll let you do it.. but the moment you hesitate i'll do it deal?"

"Deal."

"Now take this." he handed gabriela divine invader which confused her.. "If you're going to finish this finish it right. Use the unique skill it has it takes two minutes to charge up, we only have one chance at this so don't screw up got it?" gabriela nodded and oza smiled. "Good, now let's go!"

"Roger!"

Oza lead his way back towards the throne room while fighting of scorpions that were swarming him and gabriela. Oza was slashing and cutting the scorpions while gabriela used magic to kill them off she handled herself pretty well. Upon arriving there they saw ori trying his very best holding off arthur who seemed t have gotten stronger.

"Ori!" ori dodged one more attack before running towards oza and gabriela.. "Ori you alright?"

"Yeah nothing serious.. but his exterior is hard my spear can't even leave a scratch on him."

"Well then all three of us will have to do it. Gabriela you'll be tasked to deal the final blow, Remember we only have one chance, while you do that me and ori will distract and weaken him i'll give the signal so be ready."

Both of them agreed and thus the fighting began ori and oza both dashed towards arthur. Ori went in for his legs while oza went for the tail. Ori was doing well keeping him distracted while oza used 'overkill' to close the distance between him and arthur's scorpion tail.

Ori was kicked knocking him a few feet away but this gave oza the opening he needed. He jumped towards the tail doing a rapid spinning motion gaining momentum as he got faster and neared to the tail he was able to cut it off in one clean motion, but in doing so arthur let out one more ferocious roar but this time it was different.

Berserker King of Thieves Arthur has activated unique skill 'wrath'

"Ali what the heck does 'wrath' do!" He said while dodging the much faster and much angrier arthur.

"Similar to assassin alta since arthur is a berserk type his unique skill 'wrath' it multiplies his current stats tenfold and increase with time but at the cost of growing wilder as time passes by. The usage drains 5% of mana per second"

"You know the drill!"

"Estimated mana is around 800.. so you have to survive for 20 minutes at the most if you want his skill to deplete also keep in mind the longer he's in that state the stronger and wilder he becomes making him even more unpredictable."

"You know i just have to distract and weaken so gab can deal the final blow!"

he dodged one more attack from arthur as he flipped backwards away from him. Staring arthur down as he was growling like some rabid dog. He looked towards ori was being healed by gabriela and looked back towards arthur

"Now this is crunch time."
