14. Ghost In A Sexy Green Dress

Keira was on her way to her car when Mr. Watson approached her.

“Ms. Keira, I came here to give you the program for the party. Please be guided accordingly when you will be needed to go up the stage, and may we request you for a speech.”

Keira smiled at Mr. Watson, the one person that she and her Nana trust completely.

“Okay, thank you for this Mr. Watson.”

Manager Leo passed by the two and gave them a dirty look. Keira knew what he was up to; he was relentless in finding a fault about her but as always; he fails. Keira decided to play along because she wants to embarrass Manager Leo at the company party.

“Mr. Watson, thank you for getting along well with my grandmother, and helping me with my promotion.”

Mr. Watson scratched his head, thinking why Keira was suddenly doing this, but he can’t embarrass her with Manager Leo around.

“No worries Ms. Keira.”

Keira then headed for her car; Manager Leo was taken aback to see that Keira was the one who was using the late president’s car, all the while the people in the company thought that it was Mr. Watson who got that car.

“Did you lend that car to Keira?”

Manager Leo could not help but ask Mr. Watson directly.

“No, it is hers.”

Mr. Watson answered him concisely and left the parking lot.

The next day while Keira and Thea were at the canteen eating, she noticed other women at other tables were excitedly talking about the party later in the evening. While she and Thea were still busy with work.

“Thea, do you have your gown for later?”

Thea looked down, not wanting to blame Keira for her lack of preparations.

“No, I did not have enough time to shop for one.”

Keira smiled at her, she knows very well that she is the reason why Thea did not have the luxury of time in the past year.

“Good, well let’s have the day off, come with me.”

Keira stood up and led Thea to the VIP parking area.

“Manager Keira, why are we here? Are we allowed to go in here?”

Keira smiled at her.

“Trust me.”

Thea nodded and silently followed Keira, her eyes widened when she saw Keira’ car.

“Goodness Gracious! This is your car?”

Keira chuckled at Thea’s expression.

“You know goodness and gracious don’t really describe the lady devil.”

They both giggled as they boarded Keira’s sports car and left the office building. They went to a spa for full-body pampering, she understood how tiring their work schedule is and Thea definitely deserved this reward.

After their spa session, Keira brought Thea to her villa at the mansion where Maurice is waiting for her.

“Who owns this house? This is the biggest estate I have ever seen in my entire life, I thought it only exists in the movies.”

Keira was somehow more willing to give Thea an insight since she will be able to know all about it later at the party.

“My family owns this estate and this one is my Villa, I rarely go here; I live in my small house near the office. However; I promised my Nana that after the party tonight; I will be staying here for good.”

Thea was overwhelmed with Keira’s wealth, how can she work as a lowly underpaid and overworked manager if her wealth is at this level?

As they were talking in the living room a butler came in and gave them tea and a few minutes later…

“Bonjour Mademoiselle”

“Hi, Maurice; I hope you don’t mind that I brought my friend Thea here; we both need your expertise for the party.”

Maurice smiled at her seeing Thea was also a beauty that needed her help.

“It is always my pleasure Madame Keira.”

He called in her assistants to display the gowns, dresses, and suits he brought for Keira. Thea saw the latest collection of the most high-end brands are all in front of them and Keira does not seem beleaguered with ten thousand dollar dresses in front of her.

Maurice held a blue gown for Thea while she gave a monochromatic green sparkly gown to Keira. The hair and makeup artists took over and made their magic happen. Thea and Keira were naturally beautiful but the enhancement that was done made the two women Immaculate.

Thea could not believe her own eyes;

“Is this really me?”

Keira giggled at Thea’s reaction.

“Of course, you’ve always been gorgeous Thea, you have to show it more often now since you will be the manager of the planning department starting tomorrow.”

Thea’s jaw dropped to the floor, it felt like the news Keira just dropped was another beautiful surprise she stored for her.

“Are you serious?”

“Have you ever heard a joke from me?”

“You have a point there!”

Thea cackled at Keira, she observed her behavior just now and she felt like Keira was nervous, she can’t be mistaken, it’s not like every day that she gets to see Keira like this.

“Do you have a date for later?”

Keira asked Thea as she was still staring at herself in the mirror.

“Yes, I do, is it okay if I ask him to pick me up here?”

“Sure, no prob. I also have a date for tonight and I am freaking nervous”

Thea tapped Keira’s back as she giggled.

“I can tell Ms. Keira, you are really gorgeous tonight, and for sure whoever your date is… he will find you stunning too.”

A few minutes later, Thea’s date arrived and picked him up; to Keira’s surprise, it was Jude. She just smiled at them as if giving them the go signal to date in the office. Jude felt like gratitude welled up inside of him.

“ring.. ring”

“Hello Nana, are you at the venue already?”

“Yes dear, I am fulfilling the CEO duties for the last time I want to make this the best turn over ever. We just have one problem; your date said he wouldn’t be able to make it today so I asked Mr. Watson to pick you up instead.”

“That is not a problem at all Nana.”

She actually felt relieved that one of the pressures for today is eased, she can’t be thinking of meeting Stephen when there is a greater responsibility ahead of her for today. Well, at least that’s what she told herself.

A few minutes later, she saw Mr. Watson arriving at her Villa. He looked dashing in his black tuxedo; she suddenly missed her dad; if only he was alive, he would probably be her date tonight.

“Ms. Keira, Are you ready to go to the party?”

Mr. Watson asked Keira who looked like she was about to shed a tear. He extended his arm to Keira, which she gladly accepted.

As soon as Mr. Watsons Car arrived at the venue, Keira’s heart was thumping so hard it could beat a dragon-boat drum's thump. They were received by photographers as they alighted the car and walked the red carpet. Keira was more beautiful than most celebrities and her grace and poise were surreal, she is truly in a league of her own.

As she walked into the venue, Keira smiled to herself and faced Mr. Watson; she commended him and thought that her Nana did a pretty good job overseeing the party planning. The crowd that saw Keira was in dilemma, seeing her with Mr. Watson further fueled the gossip about them; but then they also cannot deny the fact that tonight; Keira was the most gorgeous woman in the venue, no amount of hate for her could deny that fact.

The program started with a few production numbers and then the awarding of special merits for their loyal employees. Aila made sure that Thea will be joining the awardees for her loyal service. Her promotion was also announced when she received her award.

Keira was still feeling nervous because after this part, her Nana will go up the stage say a few words, and invite her there. She decided to go out of the venue and get some fresh air for a while; if not... she might faint, she does not want to appear weak on her first recognition as a CEO.

She exited the venue via the small veranda near the women’s restroom; she walked to the garden shaking off the feeling of enormous pressure on her shoulders. She looked in the direction parking area when she saw a familiar figure.

He was the very man he never wanted to meet again, at least that’s what she told herself. It was Stephen; he looked out of place in this posh gathering, he appeared like he was there just to drive someone and leave.

Keira was thinking of approaching him but; she wanted some answers… but deep inside she was afraid to know them. She can’t find an acceptable reason for his actions but she is willing to understand him whatever that is.

She gathered all her courage and walked in his direction.

“Tara?”

Stephen thought he saw a ghost in a sexy green dress when he saw the love of his life Tara.
