11. Pandora's Box

As soon as Keira and her colleagues entered the cafeteria, there were many eyes on Keira; as she expected; the news about her bringing the board room down with her keen eyes and mathematical genius. Little did they know she also has this analytical skill that is comparable to three people working together, she is so used to working alone she enhanced these abilities to work efficiently.

"That's the girl, the beautiful one with the nice legs."

"She looks like a goddess, how can she be so smart?"

Keira's ears were filled with the murmurs of the people from other departments. She was quite pleased, that at least for now she was not being slandered.

"Keira, are you hearing them? They said you are a goddess, you know what? I think so too!" Thea was smiling so sweetly she could not fathom that she's not besties with the Company's goddess.

"No, Keira, please don't listen to those jerks, those are two-faced men who go for every beautiful girl in this company. You know you should only acknowledge the loyal ones."

Jude winked at Aila as he smirked.

"Don't worry you guys, I don't intend to be in a relationship right now; I am really devoting my time and attention to building my career."

Keira smiled at her two colleagues who are surprised about her commitment at a very young age.

"Girl, don't drown yourself in work, you are still very young; have fun or else you will be burnt out."

Thea gave Keira a piece of advice; unknowingly she's speaking with the future CEO of their company.

Keira smiled at Thea knowing that she's just concerned about her; if she only has the choice to slack off and enjoy and mingle she would, but the company's success is in her hands. Keira is keen on showing her Nana that she will be able to handle the company. She is eager to show her what she had discovered, she is s quite positive that the anomalies she had uncovered are connected to her parent's demise; she just has to prove it, she can't afford to leave a trace of doubt.

When Keira and her two colleagues came back to their office, Thea and Jude were surprised to see Keira's laptop and her files are soaking wet. They were beyond salvageable; retrieving the files might take some time or they might have been lost forever.

Keira was as poised and composed as earlier; no signs of panic at all, this aura of hers emits total domination. A person who has a thousand tricks under her sleeves for a counter-attack that's why you won't see a trace of the emotion of fear or uncertainty in her.

"How come you don't even look surprised or worried at all Keira?"

Thea can't help but blurt out her observation on her new friend.

"I've opened the Pandora's Box, I kind of saw this coming. Don't worry my files are saved on the cloud and, it is a good thing here that I have a reason to change my three-year-old laptop." She chuckled while throwing out the soaked papers; Rebecca and Georgie finally arrived sneering at the sight of Keira cleaning up the mess they just made.

"Oh here they come; just so you two girls know my laptop costs two thousand dollars; I would have to ask the accounting department to reimburse them again from your salaries." Keira let out a big smile at Rebecca and Georgie whose expression hardened as they were figuring out how they were found out that fast.

"Bi*ch, you threaten us again, I will sue you." Rebecca tried her best to appear fierce to Keira, who was staring straight at them but does not feel the intimidation at all.

"I am not threatening you, I never threaten anyone. The CCTVs cannot lie;"

Keira requested the CCTVs to be installed in their office to Mr. Watson, she made sure they were installed before she started working because she knows how important it is to have your own documentation of evidence.

"What CCTV?" Georgie was already sweating buckets at the thought of getting caught again; they might get fired.

Keira folded her arms and carefully pointed out the CCTVs in their office; which are not even hidden.

"Guess what, those cameras also have audio recording… okay, please excuse me I am being summoned at the president's office."

Georgie smacked her forehead as she was contemplating the possible scenarios after this second failed attempt to intimidated Keira.

"This is your entire fault!" Georgie shouted at Rebecca who was already tensed that she started biting her fingernails.

At the president's office, Elisa was already there with Mr. Watson. Keira took a peek first before entering the office.

"Nana!" Keira ran towards her grandmother and hugged her tightly. Her Nana was all smiles and hugged her back.

"I miss you so much rude girl! When are you coming back to the mansion?" Elisa was again bargaining with Keira, who is too stubborn to change her decision.

"You know my answer Nana, I will eventually come back to the mansion when I get married hahaha." Keira was joking with her grandmother who is fully aware that she is not even interested in dating what more for getting married?

"Then I would have to introduce you to blind dates after you get settled as the new CEO."  Elisa pinched Keira's nose. Keira pouted at her smart Nana who will find ways to get what she wants.

"Well then, let's focus on the things at hand first; I discovered intricate anomalies from the department of planning, budget, and implementation. However, I believe that they have been doing this for a long time already and I would need stronger evidence before we can pin it on them."

Mr. Watson was listening intently and interjected into Keira and Elisa's conversation.

"If I am not mistaken before your father's demise; he hinted to me about a huge irregularity that he discovered but he never really disclose it to me and I am not sure if he was able to gather enough evidence for it."

Keira rubbed her temple; and paced at the board room.

"Mr. Watson, have you ever seen my dad wearing a necklace like this?"

Keira showed Mr. Watson the special necklace her father gave her when he was still alive.

"I used to see him wearing a necklace like that, but we never found anything like that at the crash site."

"I guess, I would have to follow dad's trail to uncover this and see if it is indeed related to their death. However; I would need just a few traps to set and it would be enough to persecute the guilty party and boot them off our company."

Elisa clutched her chest and started tearing up while thinking of her only son. "Do your best dear, we have to bring justice to your parents."

Keira kissed her Nana's forehead. I will Nana, don't worry.

"ring..ring.."

"Excuse me; can I take this call? It is my son in the military."

Elisa gave Mr. Watson the go signal to take the call; while she was discussing with Keira the next step to entrap the company traitors. Mr. Watson came back with a big smile on his face.

"You look happy Mr. Watson" Keira said with a smile on her face.

"My son will go home on Saturday for a three-day vacation."

"Mr. Watson, maybe you can introduce Keira to your son." Elisa was trying to set up Keira already to get what she wants.

"I'm sorry Ms. President, as much as I want Keira to be my daughter-in-law; but I believe my son already has a girlfriend."
