8. Long Hard Tiring Night

2 PM the whole planning department staff are present in their board room, they are concocting a plan for the current restaurant acquisition of the company. This is the first team meeting Keira had ever attended; she was excited to be doing the "real" work finally.

"Okay, you guys listen the different departments will present tomorrow, while our department will need to show them the acquired company status, activities, and financial statements tomorrow. Then with all the presentations from the other department, we will draw the best plan to present to the board on Wednesday next week."

Georgie and Rebecca were shocked by the instructions, while Thea, Jude, and Keira appeared a little more enthusiastic about the job ahead.

"Georgie and Rebecca you two will be responsible for creating a presentation about the acquired company's status, make sure it looks reasonable and easy to understand."

The two girls nodded and went about their work stations to start on their work.

"The three of you are responsible for the summary of their activities and financial statements for the past two decades."

Jude's jaw dropped to the floor, "Did I hear it right? Did you just say the past two decades?"

"You are not imagining things Jude, now move your lazy as* and work." Pete was tensed up because of the tight schedule that was dumped to him this afternoon.

Thea and Keira went to their respective stations, and suddenly Jude came to their station.

"We have a situation here, the first five years of the company's financial statement is not uploaded in the server, and it could mean that 60 months' worth of financial statements is still not in digital format."

He scratched his head realizing the workload ahead that they will be facing because of this setback.

Keira stood up and rolled her shoulders, she took it upon herself to cover this part.

"I got this; I will go to the records section myself to search for the documents needed."

Keira brought her bag with her, and her laptop where she plans to input all data that she can transform into a graph that she can easily interpret. On her way to the elevator, she encountered a group of guys who smiled at her.

"The new company goddess is here guys." One of the guys blurted to the group. Keira cringed with the title she was given this morning, she is still not used to the idea that she is now a pleasant-looking woman.

The guys all bowed their heads to greet her; she bowed her head back as a sign of respect. 

"bzzzt bzzzt"

It is her phone vibrating in silent mode; Nana is checking on her.

"Yes hello, I guess I will be staying late at the office tonight, I have so much work to do… I won't be able to sleep there tonight, yes, I will have to sleep in my place, Okay goodnight, I love you."

She placed her phone back in her bag when she realized that all eyes are on her; the guys must have listened to every word she uttered on the phone just now.

"What a lucky guy,"

"She already has a man…"

"The goddess already has a boyfriend."

The murmurs were clear to Keira, they assumed that she was talking with a guy, but she does not intend to clear things up for them. Perhaps this is a better way to stop men chasing after her. She just shrugged her shoulders and proudly exited the elevator when she reached the first floor.

The records section is like a whole maze of files, there is a record keeper that logs all files that are taken in that section. When Keira arrived there, the record keeper has already clocked out for the day.

She huffed, "It is just 4 PM, where did they go? Such incompetent workers… tsk…" The frustration in her tone is undeniable. Then just like that, she smiled brightly, like a light bulb just lit in her mind. She took out the master VIP key card Mr. Watson gave her earlier.

She successfully entered the records section; she turned on the lights and immediately went to work. Keira gathered all the necessary files, not only the financial statements but everything that could help the planning as a whole.

Keira has a very high IQ, she finds solace in numbers and data, things that most people find revolting. The way she reads is also different, for most people you have to read line per line; but she sees it as a whole, she just needs to glance and all important data are like jumping out the line like a highlight. That's why she can easily finish her task, but she is a meticulous worker, she is not satisfied with a simple data graph. She wanted to interpret the data in ways applicable to the project.

Keira turned on her phone's music application. This is how she studies back when she was still a student, her Bluetooth headset is her companions in times like this. She danced and sang while her fingers were busy typing in the data she gathered.

Keira was so indulged in her work that she was shaken when she noticed the time on her watch; it's already 11 PM.

"Time really flies by so fast when you are having fun." Keira blew out her cheeks and continued on her work.

She did not even want to stop for a meal; she is completely engulfed by her eagerness to finish her task. It is already 5 AM when she was able to finish everything. She stretched her arms and massaged the back of her neck… "Finally, time to go home"

Keira was the only one left in the building plus the security staff that knew about her identity. She greeted them with a smile as she went towards her car. The presentation will start at 7 am, she has enough time to freshen up and take a heavy breakfast before going back to the office.

As soon as she arrived at her house, she started stripping her clothes and called her favorite café for delivery of sandwich and salad that she decides to indulge herself with before going back to work. While waiting for her breakfast she went for a quick cold bath to wake up her senses.

Unexpectedly, the delivery guy came earlier than she expected.

"Shoot, should I go out with just a robe?" She answered the door with a robe on her body and a towel on her head.

The delivery guy was surprised to see such a beautiful woman this fresh so early in the morning. His face flushed when she noticed Keira's clothes on the floor.

"You might have had a long tough night." He gave Keira a dirty look.

Keira was clueless about the look he gave her but nevertheless, she smiled and answered back. "It is a long, hard, pretty tiring night indeed." She hastily accepted the food, paid for it, and closed the door.

The delivery guy was surprised by her answer; she did not even hide it.

"What a lucky guy…" the delivery guy murmured to himself.
