Congratulations

Betty's operation was successful, she was later transferred to her ward room . Evelyn has gone home to prepare light porridge for her to eat. Thou she is very tired for not be able to have a proper rest since last night. 

After Six hours

 Betty opened her eyes lazily, she squinted her eyes because of the sudden light. She looked around but she found no one. She tried to seat but the sudden pain she felt made her lie down with bead of sweat rolling down on her forehead.  She manage to press the button beside the bed to alert the doctors.

Doctor and nurse rushed inside to check on her, after checking her vitals , her fluid was changed.  " Doctor, please what am i doing here?"  

" Oh! you were rushed here in midnight by your husband. " Her eyes light up when she heard Bob rushed her here. " Where is he? ". Doctor look at her trying to digest her question. " I mean my husband?" 

" Oh! He went out when you are in theater." Doctor answered meekly still ponder on what the man said last night. " Don't worry, he paid your bills and asked the maid to stay."  Betty nod in understanding, her hope was dashed when she heard he left.

" Is my baby OK? " she asked next . The doctor ponder on whether to tell her or not. After  much deliberation he decided to tell her at least she needs to know her condition. 

" Miss Betty, I don't know how to say this but it is not a good news.". 

" Don't worry about me doctor  , tell me ." 

" Am sorry , you lost the baby and you had a fracture. "  Thou it is his profession but he felt sorry for her. Betty eyes redden at the news. " You still have plenty of chance , don't worry and focus on your recovery.

" Thank you.". She manage to  utter after the doctor left her ward, She burst into a painful cry. She felt felt terrible, despair and emptiness. She placed her hand on her stomach, the more she felt of the more she cried. 

" Madam , you are awake? " She moved closer to her to touch her when she heard her sobbing.

 " I brought your food ." 

" Leave!"  

" But your food, you might be hungry. You haven't eat anything since ...."

". I said leave! " She shout at the top of her lungs but the pain in her lower abdomen shut her up immediately. " Just leave me alone. Go away." This time she said quietly and continue to sob.

Golden estate

Bob embrace Alice who has being feeling somehow for the past twenty hours. " Babe let go to the hospital, please." 

" No, I can hold it. i don't want to go to hospital . "  " Don't be like this. You are scaring me. is it your time already. !?"  

" It is not yet time for my delivery . The doctor said it is the middle of next month." 

" What is now happening? Why are now having stomach upset all of a sudden.?"

" I  don't know either.....". She holds her tummy in pain, suddenly she felt something watering flowing down her thigh." Babe it seems my water broke!" She shout. Bob was just looking at her not understanding the meaning of what she said. " What do you mean water? were you holding water before." 

"....." Alice was looking at him , she did not know if to cry or laugh.  " I ...think ..baby .. Oh! my back! aaah!". Bob was holding her back, leg taking pillow to support her, in short he did not know what to do again. Amidst their struggle Mrs Kelly came inside in a rush, Bob has called her a while back to inform her about Alice. " What Bob? You suppose to have take her to the hospital. She is in labour!" 

" Labour???" He repeat the word like a fool. Mrs Kelly shot her head at her son, she knows anxiety is killing him and it has muddle up his brain. She slap him to wake him up.  " Your baby want to cone out, we better hurry to take her to the hospital." Bob widen his eyes while rubbing his head where his mother has slap him. He did not know since that she is in labour. 

He face palm when he said labour, his mother has said that a minute ago but everything is just like foreign language to  his ear but now it thus make sense. He dashed into the room to take the bag they have prepared before taken her to the hospital.

 Alice was taken to the same hospital as Betty. Bob and his mother was pacing up and down in the hallway waiting for what is going on in the labour room. He was afraid seeing Alice in that state, he wanted to follow them inside but Alice stopped him. 

He sign when the word she said echo in his mind once again. ' Stay here and pray for me. I don't want you to get traumatized looking at it. I only want you to see me well packaged not in the labour room .'. He sat beside his mother quietly.  " Don't worry son, she will be fine.". " Thanks ma. I know am just worried she is in pain. "

" I understand but this pain is the joy of every mother."  They are both silently once again before The door to the labour room was pushed open after ten minutes to announced the arrival of their new bundles of Joy.  " Congratulations Sir and madam . Young Mara has given birth to a baby boy."

" Aaah! ooooh! " Bob and his mother embrace themselves shouting in Joy for Tue good news.

 " How is my wife?" 

" How is my grandchild?"  They both asked in unison. The doctor smile at them before he answered them both, he is sure they are both happy and he is happy too as the doctor in charge.  " They are both fine but Tue baby will have to stay in the incubator for sometime because he arrived early than expected. " 

They nodded in understanding and both went to see the new mother and child.
