Betty was tired of waiting, calling and expecting Bob. She has being disappointed over and over again. She has went to 'golden estate' times without number but she was prevented from entering , same as his office. She closed her eyes trying to erase the word that kept playing  in her mind but she won't lie that the word get to her real good. 

She has went to her mother in laws  house a week ago,  she went there with an intention of sharing the good news to them but she was tested like an eyesore.  "  Welcome MA! " the maids greeted her.  She raised an eyebrow  when the maid address  her as 'ma' and not young madam that  they used to call her.  She did not answer just "'hmm"'.

 She went directly  to the living room of the house " mother! " she greeted  her mother in-law with so much excited but the later just nod at her with returning her warm greetings  at all.  " good day mother! " she greeted again.

 " good day to you too and what are you doing here? " came the question she least expect . " mother?  why will you as me that?  I came to check o you to see you and daddy but you are doing me what am doing here?  did I offend you mother? " she asked slightly feeling hurt with the way she has being  looking at her as if she is some  kind of dirt. 

" As you can see we are all fine and doing great,  now that you have seen that can you leave now? "

" Mother!!!  What is going on here are you chasing me? "

" chasing you... " chuckling " you think highly of yourself to think I am chasing you"

Betty mouth fell open, she did not know what she is hearing o what wrong she committed to be receiving this harsh treatment from her in-laws. 

 " mother?  father? what..... " sniffing. "what did I do to offend you? "

" Oh really! offend? no how can you offend me when all you do is to defend us." she said sarcastically.

Betty continue to sob silently for being accuse for what she did not understand.

" I .....don't  .....know ...". sniffing " ...what you are talking about.?"

" Are you dumb or you are acting like one? OK let me make you understand. I dislike your clingy and disgrace attitude. Stop embarrassing my son and stop staining his reputation by stalking and embarrassing him all about. I would have stomach it .....if you give me a grandchild but ...no, look at you ? what did I want to expect from a evil person like you? even your seed will be evil..... "

 " Me??? evil?? what did I do to deserve that? what everything we have being together?.."

" Safe it! Safe it for your grandchild, so you will have enough story to tell them , just let me warn you ' Stop embarrassing my son' or else..."

Betty looked at her in-laws not knowing what to do or say, she did not expect them to turn to her like that after everything she has done for them now they saw her as evil woman. She picked up her bag , looked t her father in-law that did not say a word, wipe her tears and leave their house.

Back to present

Betty was dozing off on the sofa when the front door open, she opened her eyes to see who has entered .  She has dismiss the maids earlier so she will have her quiet time, so who could it be. She immediately stand up when she saw Bob, she smiled and genuinely happy to see him she has forgotten all the wrong she suffered . Setting eyes on him alone is a peace to her heart, only God knows how much she loves this man. 

" Welcome home honey!" She said quietly not wanting to provoke him any longer.

" hmm!," came the reply. Betty was so annoyed with the way he answered her and headed towards the stairs.

" Bob?? why are you like this? anyway what do you want for dinner? "

" Am not hungry thanks. " He said without looking at her, he just continue to move towards the stair . 

" Bob please what did I do wrong? why are you treating me like this? " 

" How am i treating you woman? am i the one treating you badly or you yourself? why can't ask yourself that question?"

 Betty was silent she knows she has over step her boundary truth be told, she has follow him everywhere for the past one month behaving like a crazy person just to get his attention. Even her actions as  resulted into a fight one time with the receptionist , she did not behave like a proper high class lady at all, she has slapped the young lady very bad when the latter prevent her from entering because Bob was attending to some important personnel . 

She has thought there was no one as important as herself , unfortunately for her someone has recorded the incidence and upload it on social media, which result to many people calling them names, some even suspect underhand method but the news was quickly suppressed thanks to the their power .

 Bob was even call out for marrying his late wife's best friend after her disappearance. This has infuriated the Bobs family and led to their hatred for her, they saw her as evil that want to let their years of hard work go to waste because of her own selfishness.

 At first he has persuade her to go home and he will come but whenever he came home she will always nag him to no end leading to square one again. But it was never her fault she just don't want to be the second gullible woman like her friend.  She was too insecure , maybe because she has done likewise for her friend that was why she felt this way .

  "OK! I know am wrong but I promise to change for better and never to follow you about again . Just come home and talk to me I miss our old time. I miss you Bob please." 

" Berty don't start at all, if you want us to behave the way we have been behaving from the start , you clearly remember you are my late wife's best friend which means we suppose not have anything in common...."  

She was so stunned to hear what he said just now did she hear correctly? Did Bob just address her as ' my late wife's best friend? '  She  cursed Susan in the grave or wherever her body was dumped. She believe her spirit must have possess Bob just now to have said that to her.

 " What are you talking about? You saw me as your wife's best friend? all this year? please Bob i know you are angry just forgive me." She moved closer to hold his sleeves but he shove her to the side.
