Susan Richard

Four month later

 Susan dressed up in a blue off shoulder dress that shows her delicate curves in right places, the dress ends two inches above her knee, she matched it with red stiletto and bag, light make up that shows her beautiful face. She is 24years old Richard's daughter and heiress. She is proud, saucy, classy and smart. 

She looks down on anybody that does not belongs to their class, she believes she is  above everybody and the world owes her everything. So every one must treats her with ultimate respect . Before her car got to the  entrance of Richy Corporation, some of the employees were already waiting, standing to welcome their heiress despite that she has not officially started work but nobody is ready to risk losing his/ her job. Majority of them know how she behaves even before the demise of the late chairman. 

She is total spoilt brat that get anything that she want not minding what will cost her father or anyone.

 They stood accordingly as the car stopped at the entrance of the building one of the bodyguard who is also waiting open the door for her to step out of the car. They all bowed to greet her but as always she maintained an icy look and ignored them before she went her way into the large reception, been the chairman's daughter they all gave her the respect she deserved despite her snobby nature. 

The driver who is following her quickly pressed the 10th floor on the elevator  for her which is the office of the chairman and CEO of the company.

In the office of the chairlady, sitting on the swivel chair facing the big table is her mother Mrs Richard that is currently managing the affairs of the company . With her is the CEO of the company, one of the vice chairman and three directors from the department of finance, marketing and survey and one secretary, they are currently given her the report on the new contract the company just secured to build and equipped the biggest company in their state. They are deliberating on the necessary things they needed in order to achieve a success and to make history. As soon as Susan got to her mother's office, she did not mind  the secretaries that ore trying to stop her she just barged into the office without greeting or paying attention to her surroundings straight to her mother's table.

 Mrs Richard was so furious and embarrassed with her behavior, after glaring at her for her stupid act. She made her apologised to them. 

"Susan! do you lack manners? how could you barged in without knocking? Not only that you can not even greet. Is that the way I brought you up? what is wrong with you? "Mrs Richard said in one breath. " Apologise now before I throw you out of my office".

" Mum!!! why..... "she was interrupted by her mother before she complete the sentence and embarrassed her further." I said apologise now." she stood up from her chair.

" OK! OK! fine I will alright." She grudgingly faced the executive before saying sorry through gritted teeth. 

"Am sorry sirs and ma'am for my behavior, hope am forgiving? " Susan said with her smile that doesn't reach her eyes.

Even though they are unhappy with her what can they do, she is still the heiress of her father's company but they are at least happy that she was corrected by her mother but when her father was still alive she has done more than that and she did not received a single scolding from him. They all know the apology was not sincere at all but they all laugh it off before one of the directors talked from her seat ; "Its OK young Miss you are forgiven." 

Mrs Richard stood besides her daughter and also apologised on her behalf before dismissing the meeting. They all excused themselves from the presence of the duo.

 Mrs Richard make her ways to sit on the resting sofa in her office ignoring her daughter that was standing beside her. 

"Mum am sorry OK, It wasn't intentional, I was in a bad mood and I promise to change for the better. I won't do that again OK.  Please mum don't be mad." She sat besides her mother . She side hugged her just to pacify her mother. 

Mrs Richard laughed when she sees her daughter's puppy eye "OK, its alright. You know I want the best for you. l just want you to change for the best to carry your father's legacy ,my legacy.  You must be of good behavior at all times you can't gain anything been pompous"she scolded Susan. After a while she faced her daughter" baby let's discuss your coming birthday next month..."

 She has not finished her sentence before Susan jumped in her seat. She was excited to celebrate her birthday." Mum you are the best, you know I want a purple parlour birthday I don't want something big since we have just lost daddy... "at the mentioning of her father the two of them stopped talking.

 Mrs Richard sighed, sadness pass through her eyes when she remembered her lovely husband. "OK,  you said you don't want something big? that's fine but don't you think its better we make the day two in one for you?"

 "Two in one?" Susan repeated  her statement  "mum, I don't get you what do you mean by that?  You know I just want to celebrate it because am turning 25 years if not that I won't even celebrate a thing, so  I don't get you?"

"OK! I know you don't understand and I will explain now. I want you to get engage to Bob. don't you think 25 years is a good time to settle down and have your own family?"

 Susan just sat down looking at her mother in a daze, she can not process what she is hearing right now before she voiced out her opinion

 She stood up extremely annoyed with her mother." mom!!!" she exclaimed." what do you mean by having my own family? even if i want to settle down do you think I will settle for someone like Bob that imbecile. I don't know you have such taste mother. What the hell are you even talking about . ooooh! just because he follows me about do you think I love him? I  was just doing that to satisfy dad and now that he is gone why do I need to throw my happiness away for someone that is not up to my calibre. Mum they still depend on our company for contract, why....."

"Enough! I have heard enough of your nonsense Susan. What is your problem? Everything my class; my caliber;my this and that. who are you?  ooh!  you have grown wings now? you can talk back at me? is that the way I brought you up???  eeh!  she started sobbing, I have failed as a mother. I can not even train my own child. Gabriel hope you can see your daughter look at how much you spoilt her." she continue to sob silently.

"Mother"Susan sobered up and moved closer to her mother " am so sorry for raising my voice at you. Its just that I don't like him that much. I...I.. I... just want to find my own happiness now. I dated him to satisfy everyone.  Mummy please you have to understand me. "she hold her mother hands

 Mrs Richard looked up and looked into her eyes "You cannot even satisfied your own father that has spoiled you so much.  He gave you everything with or without my support.  He supported  your relationship with Bob because he knew he was a good man and now you cannot even satisfied that man that gave you the whole world. She said with anger laced each word. Leave my office Susan! Leave this minute ." with that said she withdraw her hand from Susan and shown her the door. Susan looked at her mother she opened her mouth to say something but her throat seems dry, she cannot even make a sound. 

 When she stood up to leave, she heard her mother's voice again, " you are starting work tomorrow as the assistant to the director of marketing department." Mrs Richard said with a tone of finality without even looking at her daughter that stood rooted on the ground.  

Susan knew better that questioning her will bring more punishment. her mother is more strict than her father. She stomped out of her mother's office in total annoyance.

 After Susan left the office, she made a call to her secretary  " Emily please cancelled all my  remaining meetings for today, I need to be alone."

"OK ma "replied Emily . "anything else ma?"

 "umh,  Yes! send a memo to all staff that henceforth no one, I repeat no one must line up outside to welcome my daughter. Did I make myself clear?"

"Yes ma'am"

 "Good" she said before she hanged up the call

Beep! beep! beep!. the end tone of the call brought her back. She closed her mouth, sat at her desk before completing the task given to her.
