Afraid

Amused, I looked down at Ty, who was a little out of breath.

"You haven't shown up for a long time." I stated expressionlessly. Apparently he thought I was in a bad mood, because he swallowed several times and hunched his shoulders. 

"Sorry," he replied quietly. "But a lot has happened."

I raised my eyebrows and smiled slightly.

"Well, if that's the case, you must have a lot to tell."

Suddenly he shook his head frantically.

"Not really. Because I don't have a lot of time. "

I bowed my head in surprise at these words.

"Actually, I don't tolerate this tone, but I don't want to be like that." I replied and made a vague gesture with my hand.

"Well, let's hear it then."

Ty swallowed, tilted his head too, and closed his eyes for a brief moment.

"Nereus had Nyria kidnapped, by me."

For a moment time seemed to stand still. That Ty was standing in front of me could only be a good sign at the moment. Wait a moment! Was I worried about this young woman? My servant took a deep breath and then smiled weakly.

"She is safe again, but I think it's slowly getting dangerous."

I also allowed myself to take a deep breath.

"You could say so. You'd better get out of here, from now on time is precious. ", I mumbled. He nodded, breathed a thank you and disappeared into nothing. I rubbed my chin thoughtfully. He had her kidnapped? Wouldn't he have had a chance to kill her then? What was he going to do with her, damn it? I got up with a sigh. Maybe I should pay them a visit? 

Fare looked worriedly out the window. Nyria had given everyone a glimpse into her abilities. But to be honest, that worried her. It had been almost frightening how easily Nyria had put the four angels out of action. It was clear from the beginning that she would be something special, but that she would really be that powerful ... She even escaped from the dungeon, that wasn’t allowed to be. Fare admitted that she was worried about Nereus too. He just let her kidnap? And then from Ty too! She sighed. Well, actually she was lucky that it was Ty. Anyone else could have done her who knows what. 

"Are you still thinking about it?" Chest suddenly broke out of her thoughts. She turned around. 

"Well, what do you think? One is going to die! ”She hissed softly. Chest walked over to her and put a hand on her shoulder in a calming gesture. 

"You don't even know that yet," he said softly.

"She is right.", Suddenly interfered a man's voice. Both archangels whirled around. They knew that voice, even if it struck them as strangely foreign. It was the devil himself who now faced them. Both drew their swords.

"Get out of here!" Hissed Fare, quite the archangel. Lucifer raised his hands in defense. 

"Please my love. I am not here as an enemy. And I'm definitely not looking for a fight, "he replied.

"Liar!" Hissed Fare. Suddenly, Chest's attitude changed. 

"Wait. I think he's telling the truth. "

Only slowly and reluctantly did Fare give up her demeanor.

"We haven't seen each other for a long time, Lucifer." Chest started a conversation. The devil smiled weakly. 

"Indeed. But I'm here for a serious reason. I heard something. "

The archangels raised their eyebrows attentively. Fare had a cold run down her spine. Had he got wind of Nereus' behavior?

"Interesting," Chest muttered, wrapping one arm around Fare's waist. No idea why he did this, he just did it and it made him feel good. Fare didn't seem too bothered.

"Your brother seems to be in top form.", Lucifer announced and looked at the two alternately.

"Who do you mean?" Fare asked deliberately ignorant and inclined his head.

"Nereus." Lucifer replied without hesitation. "He's losing control, isn't he?" He added, saying exactly what all the other archangels were thinking. No one had dared to speak out.

“You just let him kidnap Nyria? What's wrong with you guys? ”He suddenly growled loudly. Both held their breath.

“You know as well as I do that nobody has a problem with Nyria. So why do you allow that? "

"You don't care about the situation of the Celestials, devil." Chest growled irritably.

"Is that the only reason you came here?" Fare interrupted again. The ruler's gaze darkened. 

"It is not my intention to cause you trouble, but if you should not get Nereus' behavior under control, I see myself forced to intervene."

Perpkex they stared at him.

"Are you serious? You can't just interfere in our affairs. "

Chest was about to roar. What was this guy imagining? After all, the archangels didn't just show up in hell and tell the devil what to do. Lucifer's expression grew grim.

“I'm not getting involved here for no reason. I warn you archangels! I don't watch for a long time. I also have my motives. "

Before the two of them could reply, the devil was gone.

"Chest?" Breathed Fare. "I have a very stupid feeling."

"Why such a sad face?"

Fortunately, I managed not to flinch when Lucifer's voice suddenly rang out in my ear. The corners of my mouth twitched.

"Why not on your throne?" I replied, watching him lean against the table in front of me and look down at me. I discovered that he actually looked damn good. Something in his gaze made me think.

Why was he looking at me so intensely? Was it worry that I saw in his eyes?

"Where are your boys?" He asked smiling.

"My boys?" I laughed, raising my eyebrows. "I like that!"

I got up.

"Wait a minute," I said. I came back a few minutes later with two bottles of beer, one of which tossed Lucifer. 

“The two idiots are having another conversation with men. Why are you here?"

He stared at the beer in his hand, then at me.

"I was worried," he suddenly said quietly, whereupon I paused with the beer bottle on my lips.

“The bad, bad devil was worried? About what? ”I breathed and stepped up to him. He looked me in the eye again. 

“Nereus kidnapped you, Nyria. Still don't realize how precious your life is? ”He said quietly. I was surprised at these words. Smiling weakly, I stood next to him and nudged him lightly in the side.

“As you can see, I'm fine. What's the matter with you, Lucifer? You are the devil and not my father. Why so soulful? "

He looked at me thoughtfully.

“Do you really think that just because I'm the devil, I don't have a heart? I like you well, little one, and a lot of the Nephilim have already died. I am not the only one who believes that you are able to change a lot. "

I had no idea what to make of this conversation. Suddenly he smiled. Maybe because I looked confused at that moment, I didn't know. 

"I paid a little visit to the archangels," he announced.

Now I was speechless. Was he in heaven? Just because? And had he got away from there unharmed? "B-But ..."

Did I look so weird right now? Because suddenly he began to laugh uproariously.

"As you can see, I'm fine," he repeated the words I said earlier. I ran a hand through my hair and just looked up to hell in disbelief. 

"W-What were you doing there anyway?" I finally managed. Suddenly he became completely serious and all amusement disappeared from his face. Now it could be seen who this man really was.  

“Ty was with me briefly and told me about the recent events. I actually planned to stay out of the whole thing, but I don't know if I'll be able to do that any longer. Nereus goes mad and it is time for the other archangels to realize this. Even if you are a Nephilim, that is by no means a reason to kill you. I threatened them. If you don't do something about it soon, I'll interfere and then there will be more than just one death. " 

I swallowed. So he actually meant it.

“You threatened them and then just let yourself go? That doesn't suit them at all. "

We turned around and saw Zayn, who was just entering the room with Ezekiel. Ezekiel nudged Zayn and gave a grim smile. 

“I bet he spoke to Fare. Do you seriously think she would attack him? ”He muttered. Zayn's brow furrowed.

“This is Lucifer, the prince of the underworld. You don't really think that Fare will sit still when he's around. "

I sighed softly.

"Well, let's bet!" My ancestor hissed and clenched his hand into a fist.

“I would not do that. That would be a draw. ”, Lucifer mumbled, whereupon the two fell silent and stared at him confused. He coughed briefly and continued.

“Yes, I spoke to Fare. And with the chest. They wanted to attack me but I was able to convince them that I had no bad intentions. And now enough of that. How are you going to proceed? "

Zayn scratched the back of his head and sauntered over to me. Then he put his arm around me.

“That is exactly what Ezekiel and I were just talking about. It looks like we're taking the attack so slowly. I don't want to take any chances and expose Nyria to unnecessarily longer danger. "

I sighed again, louder this time.

“Don't you think I have proven that I can take care of myself quite well? You should better plan all of this instead of going to work right now. Is it already clear whether your siblings will stay out of it or not? ”I said and looked at them two. Lucifer looked back and forth between the three of us. 

"You asked her?" He muttered confused. I looked at him. 

“We don't, no. We asked Ty to ask how they would react if there was a fight. We are still waiting for the answer. ", I explained.

"There I am.", Someone suddenly gasped. As expected, it was Ty who stumbled into the room. At the sight of Lucifer he had to struggle for a moment, but he had calmed down quickly. 

"Well, let's get out of here." Ezekiel urged and waved his hand. Ty took a deep breath, then his expression turned serious. 

“You say it depends on the people. They were unsure when I told them who would take up the fight against him. Some seem genuinely afraid of Nereus. Overall, however, I had the impression that they would give it a try. "

We all exchanged looks.

"It's not a straight answer, but it wasn't going bad at all, I would say." I mumbled and looked up at Lucifer.

“What do you mean, bad man? Should we just march into heaven and kick Nereus in the ass? "

The devil smiled and shook his head in amusement.
