Again, Kev was the one who broke the silence.

“Quite astute, demon. How did you know? ”I replied with a grin. He looked over his shoulder too.

“Only those who were fallen or exiled would think of conceiving a child. And apart from Zayn that would not apply to anyone but Ezekiel. "

His explanation made me laugh quietly.

"I bet you're a snitch," I said so quietly that his sister couldn't hear it. The boy stopped immediately. 

"You seem to me to be very attentive as well," he stated in an ominous tone and walked on.

"Oh please, that was nothing." I breathed.

From now on, nobody said anything more.

"Why did you want me to stay here?" Growled Zayn, who was standing just a few meters from the devil. The amused glint in Lucifer's eyes had not escaped the fallen man, which is why he only became more attentive.

"What's going on between you and the little one?" He asked suddenly. Zayn tensed. That could be dangerous ...

"I don't know what you mean," the black-haired replied, whereupon the devil gave a dangerous grin.

“Don't make a fool of me, dear! You probably think I'm blind. ", He replied, almost impatient.

"There's nothing there." Zayn lay with unabashed coldness. Of course there was something, but there were other, and above all, more important concerns. 

“Gratitude, maybe. And meanwhile trust but no more, ”he added. Lucifer inclined his head and thought for a moment. He'd seen how much they'd just wanted a hug, no matter how hard they'd tried not to show. The brief touch of her hands had not escaped him either. Lucifer couldn't help but laugh. These sights had been too amusing. 

"I know that you are lying. But well now. If you don't want anyone to know about your connection, you should pull yourself together. Just like Nyria. And as for Ezekiel, I'm trying to take care of it. And you will continue to kill for me. "

Zayn nodded after these words.

"You can go then," said Lucifer.

Zayn withdrew.

Again a growl couldn't be suppressed. So he had actually noticed? That was far from good. Who knows, maybe others would have noticed right away too? Nyria and I would have to be even more careful. Let's see how she would take that. I had no idea in which of the many rooms she was interrupted, but by concentrating on our connection I could feel which way she had gone. Without even thinking about it, I went down a long corridor until I automatically stopped in front of an inconspicuous door. Here she had to be. I would never have relied on my feelings in my life back then. I wasn't even sure if I had feelings then, but now everything was different. Because Nyria had confidence in me, I also had confidence in myself. I felt that I was getting on better with my past. But ... part of me was still out for revenge! I took a deep breath and pushed that worry away. Now I just wanted to focus on this woman. I opened the door and met the gaze of ice green eyes.

When the sound of the pressed doorknob rang out, I looked up in surprise. My gut told me straight away that it was Zayn and I wasn't disappointed. It was indeed the fallen man who entered the room. I wanted to greet him, but no sound came out of my throat. The look he gave me seared me inwardly. What was it that sparkled in his eyes? I got up from the bed I was sitting on and took a few steps towards him. Zayn closed the door behind him, in my opinion quite quietly, and came up to me too. As soon as I got there, he cupped my face with both hands and leaned my head back. Instead of pulling me into a hug, he gave me a kiss, so tender and careful that I could have believed it hadn't happened at all.

"We have to be careful, Nyria.", He breathed suddenly and looked me intently in the eye. I raised my eyebrows questioningly, whereupon he dropped his hands.

“Lucifer noticed that ... there is a connection between us. We should hold back, at least here, in his area. "

I didn't know what to say about it, so I was silent. What should I have said big about it? No, I can not do that? I dont want that? Maybe we would have gotten into trouble if someone else had also found out about it. Suddenly a smile crept onto his lips. 

"Do not worry! I think we're not being watched in here. ", He breathed on my lips and kissed me again. Had he read my mind? Well, it didn't matter ... I buried my hands in his hair and rubbed myself against him, causing Zayn to groan softly. Actually, it was a shame that we couldn't show ourselves to others like that. I would have loved to make it clear to everyone who this man belonged to! I didn't even know what I meant to him. Apparently Zayn had noticed that my thoughts were wandering, because he looked at me again intensely.  

"What's going on?" He asked.

"What happens now?" I asked quietly and kept silent about the direction in which my thoughts had actually gone. Zayn sighed.

“Lucifer wants to try to stop Ezekiel, whatever he's up to. We'll have to stay here that long, ”he said sadly. He moved away from me and walked over to the bed, then, after spreading on it, beckoned me over. I didn't hesitate and threw myself on the bed, right on the fallen man. He gasped, gave a short laugh and then put his arm around me, whereupon he looked at me thoughtfully.  

“What do you think of Lucifer's words? That Ezekiel wants to incite you against me ... “, he muttered. I looked up at him.

“Ezekiel treated me like a friend. So Lucifer could be right, he didn't want me to classify him as an enemy. Maybe the devil is right and Ezekiel wants to keep us apart, ”I replied after a short thought. He was silent and I didn't know what to say either.

"What do you think of her?"

With that, Kev turned to his sister. May smiled, which was rare.

"I like her. She doesn't seem to be a foolish girl, but very thoughtful and clever. Why do you ask?"

Kev was silent for a moment. He almost never revealed what he was thinking, but since he was talking to his sister he overlooked it.

"I was just curious," he replied, turning his gaze back to the book he was holding in his hand.

“Zayn seems to have changed. Did you notice that too? ”May asked now and moved closer to her brother.

"That was obvious.", He muttered and now looked up again.

"Apparently it has something to do with the girl," he stated and put the book aside. He had to admit that he was reasonably interested. May smiled lovingly. She immediately noticed her twin brother's interest.  

“The two seem to be very close, even if they try not to let it show. Somehow cute."

Kev snorted.

“A former Ezenangel and a Nephilim. That could be dangerous, don't you think? ”He said softly. May became serious immediately. She nodded.

"You're right. I wouldn't be surprised if the two of them were so powerful together and could cause Lucifer a lot of damage, ”she breathed. Kev raised his hand with a hiss. 

"Quiet! You mustn't even think about that, have you heard? "

His sister nodded again.

"May! Kev! "

Immediately the heart of the two, which actually wasn't there, slipped into their pants. The devil called out to them and they both feared he heard them. Without hesitation, the two appeared in the hall where Lucifer sat on his throne. 

"You called?" Asked Kev and bowed together with his sister.

The ruler nodded with a blank face.

"Yes. I want you to take care of Vaher and the girl. I don't know if Ezekiel is able to get in here. If you notice something you come to me immediately, do you understand? "

The siblings noticed that a worried expression crossed his face, but they pretended not to have seen it and bowed respectfully.

"As you wish," they mumbled and immediately disappeared.

I rubbed my chin thoughtfully. As expected, they had fled the castle. However, I now had problems tracking them down again. The little one was more suspicious than I thought, but after what she had already been through, I wasn't surprised. I wanted to step into her life before she met Zayn, but from one moment to the other he was there. Damn it, I should have been more careful! I shook my head. There had to be other ways to get to the girl, but unfortunately I couldn't think of a single one. In addition, someone was after me. I couldn't tell who it was exactly, but I could feel it clearly. I just hoped I wouldn't leave a trace ...
