Victim

"Are you in a lot of pain?" He breathed and stroked my hair. I was unable to answer, so I just nodded. Zayn's gaze shot to Ezekiel.

“Do you know what she could have? From the outside you can hardly see anything, ”he said hastily.

“It will be internal injuries. Let me see. ", His brother replied and stepped over to my bed. A little stunned, I let him feel my stomach. It was by no means pleasant, only it was incredibly painful, which is why I let out a low cry of pain. His hands stopped instantly.

"Your kidney seems to have been affected, can that be?" He muttered, looking me in the eye. I just nodded. But I also used my hand to signal that my chest was sore. He was about to lend a hand again, but this time I pushed him away. It got so far that he touched me! Sighing, he looked at me.

“I guess a couple of ribs are broken. You should stay in bed, ”he muttered. Concern was evident in Zayn's eyes. 

"Can we do something about her pain?" His brother rubs his chin thoughtfully.

"Hmm, our blood should still have the same effect even after we fell."

It took me a while to understand what he had just said. I looked at him in shock.

Should i drink his blood? Seriously? Apparently I had spoken this thought out loud, because both men nodded without batting an eyelid. Still reluctantly, I took the fallen man's hand. That they recovered so quickly was only due to their blood? Why did I only find out now? 

"Come on, honey." Zayn urged. My lips touched his hand, and he sighed softly. Apparently he was keen on me even now, even though I was injured in front of him. That made me smile. I licked my tongue over the long cut. As soon as I swallowed that little blood, I heard a strange tingling sensation inside. Was that the cure already? Respect, my body could have followed a good example. But no, that was too exhausting ... A few moments passed, then I let go of his hand.  

"Thank you." I breathed and licked my lips. I always thought blood tasted metallic, but it wasn't. Zayn's blood was ... sweet. Actually quite pleasant. In the long run, however, it's pretty boring. The pain actually subsided, but I could feel that there was something wrong with me. Now I would have to wait. I looked Zayn in the eye, in which something flashed. Nobody said anything, he just put his arm around me and leaned over to kiss me.

I was so worried. came his voice in my mind. I ended the kiss.

"What about you? Is your shoulder healed? ", I breathed also completely concerned. He gave a bright smile and pointed to his shoulder. 

"You were passed out for two days, all of our wounds have healed, don't worry."

I blinked. Two days? I sat bolt upright in bed with a jerk.

"What did I miss?" I exclaimed, looking at the two men in turn. Zayn's brother shrugged. 

"Nothing important, so don't worry."

I exhaled in relief.

"I'll leave you two times." Ezekiel muttered and trotted out of the room. Zayn and I stayed behind. Only a few seconds and we were hugged in bed.

Although he was listening with his ear to the door, he could hardly understand anything. Simply following Nereus into the conference room would have been a bit too conspicuous. Ty ground her teeth. He couldn't just burst into the middle of the conference, but he couldn't stand here and do nothing either. So what to do The question became superfluous with the loud cry of Nereus. He wanted him. He paused a moment in front of the door. Too fast and one would become suspicious. Taking a deep breath, he finally entered the great hall. He was excited about what to expect. All eyes were on him, which didn't really make him feel good.  

"You called?" He muttered and bowed slightly to the archangels present. Either he got paranoid or they actually stared at him suspiciously. He suspected that he was just imagining it because of the danger he had put himself in because of Nyrias.  

"Yes.", Nereus spoke up and nodded slightly. "We have an assignment for you."

Ty bowed her head. An order? When everyone gathered here, it seemed like a pretty big job. Obtaining information seemed to be ticked off in Nereus' eyes for now.

"And what is this?" He asked sharply and looked him in the eye. The Archangel's mouth twitched. 

"You will bring us Nyria right now."

Ty didn't try to show any emotion, which turned out to be not that easy. He suppressed swallowing the big lump in his throat.

"You sound like you know where they are," he said blankly. His gaze fell on Fare, who looked at him with concern. Apparently she hadn't been able to achieve anything here, any more than Chest, who glared around angrily. 

"Yes," came back from Nereus. “It looks like she's on the road with people at the moment. We saw her with a young woman, apparently her friend. You will grab them. Now, on the spot. "

Now Ty swallowed.

"As you wish."

He turned on his heel and practically fled the hall. It couldn't be true! What should he do now? There was now no time to speak to Ezekiel and Zayn, nor to report to Lucifer. He had to go to Nyria immediately. Maybe she had an idea. If Ty and Nyria weren't back here in Heaven within an hour, Nereus would have them look for him and the girl on the spot. So it was urgent, as was a plan. 

To pass the time and to distract myself, I had made my way to Milla, with whom I was now sitting in the park during the twilight. She couldn't believe who she was facing and was about to call the police, but luckily I was able to drive that out of her. Skeptical and almost frightened, she sat next to me and looked at you. 

"You look different than usual," she stated, mumbling softly. "Although you are dressed as darkly as always, you seem almost ... to shine."

I raised my eyebrows. I beamed That was new to me. Milla didn't seem expecting an answer as she continued. A strange look came into her eyes.

“Where have you been all this time? They are looking for you. And after ... well, you know. Are you in cahoots with him? "

She gestured wildly. Apparently she was pretty upset. But who could blame her, she considered me a very good friend, of course she was worried and was afraid that something would happen to me.

"In cahoots with him?" I muttered. I had already completely forgotten that Zayn was a wanted murderer here. I shook my head hastily.

"No. Indeed..."

I fell silent, and her eyes narrowed to slits.

“You were already fascinated by him when you saw him for the first time. You don't want to tell me that you ... "

She didn't finish her sentence either. I would have loved to explain the whole situation to her, but that was impossible. She wouldn’t believe me and say I’m crazy. Besides, I didn't want to drag her into it. Who knows what trouble she would get into then. If Nereus wanted me dead, then surely a mortal who found out about her existence too. I nodded hesitantly. 

“Yes, Milla. For a long time I am no longer a stranger to him who has only helped him once. But don't blame me. So much has happened, I can't even explain it to you. I didn't want to leave you in the dark, that's why I'm here. You must have been worried. "

I got quieter towards the end. She was silent and suddenly I saw tears glistening in her eyes. Without being able to prepare for it, it fell around my neck. 

"God, you have no idea how scared I was! I really thought he was going to kill you! ”She sobbed. Laughing softly, I patted her on the back.

“Oh, Milla, no. He wouldn't dare get violent on me, believe me. And now calm down so I can tell you something. "

She sniffed a few more times, then she actually calmed down to a large extent so that I could tell her about the beginning of my story in peace.

"In the beginning I put him in my apartment," I began, causing her eyes to widen. She must have been really terrified ...

“He made quite a fuss and wanted me to kick him out, but I almost kept him in the apartment. At some point he realized that it couldn't go on like this and our ways parted. But after a few weeks we ran into each other again. He was in trouble and was completely perplexed when I saved his ass again. "

Milla stared at me in disbelief and I could see what question she was about to ask me.

"Well ..." I said, coughing slightly. "He ... was in the middle of a fight," I mumbled, whereupon my friend jumped up in shock. If that was too much for her, how would she have reacted if I had told her the rest of the story too?

“You interrupted him in a fight? Jesus, are you crazy? ”She gasped.

She gasped several times. I raised my hands defensively and raised my eyebrows too.

“Hey, he was the victim! Three against one, do you think I'm watching them beat him to death? ”I said indignantly. She screwed up her eyes as if she didn't believe me, but dropped the subject. Fortunately for my nerves. Sighing at the same time, we both leaned back. A strange feeling came over me and before I could even think about it, a familiar face suddenly came into my field of vision. Ty trotted up to me and Milla, looking rather alarmed.
