TEN QUESTIONS

LIZZY’S POV

“mum, Noah said I should tell you he enjoyed the cookies.”

I said leaving a confused look on her face.

“who is Noah?”

She asked back,

We were both jogging at the estate’s park. I still had my cookies’ calories to burn from yesterday since I was too lazy to do my daily work out.

My manager was coming later today, and he will totally freak if he finds out.

Life of a celebrity.

“our neighbor.”

“wow, you guys are on the name basis.”

She teased,

“mum, we are agemates so of course we will be on name basis. He left minutes before you came.”

“really?”

She asked surprised.

“yes mum.”

“and what did you guys do?”

Mum and her questions? I already know what she was thinking about. And that thought made me roll my eyes.

“play monopoly and talk.”

I answered back truthfully but she still had that teasing look.

“mum.”

I groaned out.

“what? I did not say anything did I?”

“no, because your eye is doing the talking.”

“fine, invite your new friend for dinner.”

Once we were home, I ran upstairs. I needed a shower badly.

“mum, I will be in my room.”

“sure sweetie.”

She called out back from downstairs.

After taking a long shower and changing to my pajamas I fell on my bed.

I grabbed my phone and opened my social media page.

Lots of comments and likes were still coming from the red-carpet show dress.

I grinned as I read through the comments, most of them were complimenting either the dress or the movie.

I took a quick selfie with a pouty face and posted with a goodnight caption added to it.

About to drop my phone, my best friend’s picture filled my phone screen and senorita by Shawn Mendes filled the air.

Shit!

I had forgotten that we were supposed to meet today once she landed.

I picked the call with a sheepish grin on my face even though she could not see it.

“Hey babes.”

“I thought we had a plan for today.”

She attacked once I picked the call. Her loud voice was threatening to burst my eardrums.

“I am so sorry. I was kind of busy today.”

I heard a sigh

“when are we not busy, well I will forgive you if you treat to lunch.”

She was right, when are we not busy?

Tomorrow my manager is coming, and I also have a schedule with my fitness instructor, and I am literally praying that I have not added weight instead of losing right now.

But who can blame me?

A girl needs a time out sometimes even though it is for a day or two.

“deal.”

Liv would be so thrilled if she hears about the last two days now.

“you would be so surprised!”

“surprise me babe.”

I laughed out.

“I met the new guy at school.”

I heard a shriek from the other side of the phone.

“No way in hell!”

“and that is not the shocking part.”

“oh, really?”

If only she knew.

“he is my neighbor. You know that big mansion beside mine, he lives there.”

“Oh My God! You have a hot guy as your neighbor?!”

I removed the phone from my ear, her voice was really deafening.

            After thirty I slowly placed it back against my ear assuming she had calmed down.

“is he as hot as they say?”

And that is the first question she asks.

Go Liv!

“he is hotter than they can ever say.”

Did I just admit that? Well I guess I did.”

“wow, for you to say that then must be really hot. I ship you two together.”

“Olivia!”

I called out my voice matching hers too at this point.

“don’t make me deaf. What’s his name?”

I sighed, as if she was not the one on the mission to make me deaf thirty seconds earlier.

“Noah King.”

“his name really suits him.”

“you haven’t even seen him.”

I retaliated with a groan making her chuckle.

“I have seen him with your eyes.”

“Oh God!”

“are you guys close?”

“we played monopoly earlier and talked a lot. He said he liked how I was not gawking at him but trust me I was trying hard not to, and have I told you about the first day we met?”

We kept on talking for close to an hour and half.

It was fun to tell someone all the events that has happened in the last forty-eight hours and Liv just happened to be a good listening ear aside from her constant shrieking and laughter.

Once we decided to say our goodnights and get our beauty sleep, I stood up from the bed and stared at the room opposite mine.

The lights were on today and the windows were opened leaving a fine view of the room.

It looked like a very big room with a king-sized bed at the center.

Everything in the room had a shade of black, white, gray and ash. Looks like a guy’s room.

My phone chimed in my hands.

I looked at it and it was a message from Noah.

He saved his number earlier today as hot guy next door and even though he was right, I still find it quite hilarious coming from him.

I quickly checked the text;

‘stop staring at my room.’

how the hell did he see me?

I looked up only to see him standing right in front of his window staring right back at me.

I was so surprised that I fell down on my butts. And he just kept on laughing at the expense of shocking me like that.

I stood up a groan leaving my mouth as I felt a shot of pain course through my ass.

“Liz, should I help you rub it?”

This was the first time he said my name and I liked the way he said it. It sounded different but his question had to spoil the mood.

“leave me alone and sleep stupid.”

He laughed again,

“okay then. Goodnight.”

He said and slowly started to close his window. Wait, was he really going?

“stop, I did not mean that.”

He chuckled and dropped his hands from the windows.

“so, does it still hurt, I can help.”

He said with a smirk.

“No, it doesn’t. thanks.”

I said gritting my teeth making him laugh more. I rolled my eyes at the sight of him holding his stomachs probably reoccurring what happened just now.

When he was done laughing,

“I am bored.”

“it is already late so just sleep.”

“what? No, it’s too early.”

Not early for someone who ran round the large estate.

“really?”

“yeah, let’s play ten questions.”

I could manage to play for the next thirty minutes.

“okay, sure.”

“go first, ladies first.”

“oh, what a gentleman.”

I curtsied

“how rich is your dad?”

He gave me a look and I raised my hands in mock surrender,

“just asking.”

“he is one of the top twenty richest man in the world.”

Wow, he was that rich?

“wait, so you won’t give me a number?”

He sighed,

“okay number seven.”

Wow, that was really high.

“are you fucking serious?”

“yeah and do not swear.”

He said adding a chuckle.

“wow, why don’t you have tons of maids there with you?”

“I could say the same with you.”

“I have one, Maria, she’s on her leave. She is like a second mum to me. So, what about you?”

“I guess I have one to. She cleans the whole house once in a week. It does not get dirty like that, but she has to do her job.”

“is the house not to big?”

“she doesn’t clean everywhere. This house is too big, she will probably faint if she tries that.”

I laughed at the thought.

“you cook for yourself?”

“yeah, I do. But she does the grocery shopping.”

He can also cook, double points added.

“will you cook for me one day?”

I asked with a pout making him laugh,

“yeah, but you will have to pay for my services. And that’s like four questions in a row.”

I did not even notice.

“come on your life is that interesting.”

I explained making him smirk.

“my turn.”

I nodded.

“do you miss your dad?”

Do I miss my dad? That was an unexpected question. I pulled my acts together faking a grin.

“yeah, but when he is less busy, we always have a time out with my mum. The whole family together.”

He nodded obviously believing my lie. There is no way that he can see through it. Perks of being an expert at acting.

“how old were you when you started your career?”

“I was a baby, around two or three years.”

“wow.”

“yeah, I have been in the paparazzi right from the start.”

“Don’t you get tired of it?”

This was the first time someone was asking me that question.

The first time someone cared about how I felt.

And the truth is that, I wanted to break free from that lifestyle.

I want everything to be normal, I want to be a normal 18 years old, but I do not think I know what normal was or how it ever felt to be one.

I was born into this.

“to be honest, I do get tired of it.”

I said honestly with a small smile.

“I wish I was there to give you a hug.”

“I am sending a virtual hug right now.”

I said back lightening up the mood.

“it’s my turn now isn’t it?”

I asked after clearing my throat.

“yeah, ask away.”

“how many cars do you have?”

I asked,

“I have six.”

Say what now?

“don’t give me that face. I actually got them from the collection of my dad’s cars. He has over hundred.”

Over hundred?

“that’s …… I don’t know what to say.”

He chuckled,

“so, what about you, how many cars?”

“two, my pink Ferrari, that’s my baby and my purple BMW mustang 2019.”

“you know your cars.”

“I do and you forgot to add I love them.”

Cause I do love them. They are my babies.

“you love cars too?”

He asked surprised, well who doesn’t.

“more than you do.”

I yawned and checked the time; it was five minutes to eleven PM.

“are you feeling sleepy?”

“something like that.”

“oh, I should not keep you waiting. Goodnight.”

He said his hands reaching out to close the window with a smile on his face too.

“wait!”

He stopped midway to closing his windows.

“mum invited you to dinner.”

“really why?”

“I don’t know. Welcome to the neighborhood dinner.”

He chuckled.

“sure, it’s not like I have something better to do. When?”

“she did not say.”

I pouted and he shook his head.

“goodnight Liz.”

He called me again! Look at how my name rolled out of his mouth. So nice.

‘Go sleep!’

“goodnight Noah.”

I said with a grin on my face and closed my window too.

I walked to my bed and laid on it.

He was fun and free to talk to.

I snuggled more into my bed with just five words in my mind

‘I am still single and searching.’

Well search no further.
