Chapter VII: Jealous King

Narrator’s POV

It's been a few weeks since the rival incident, and its back to normal again. King Alaric is busy with his duty as king, and Queen Beatrice is busy with her lessons. Non-stop lessons for the whole day. Butler Livie would monitor her 24/7 and has no mercy on Beatrice. Beatrice is tired, but she manages to smile. After all, it's the duty of a queen. 

King Alaric and Queen Beatrice would think about each other. It's been a while since they see each other. They are both busy, so they can’t see each other often.

King Alaric’s POV

I am at my office doing what a king does. I felt bored and tired here. I want to see Beatrice. It's been a while since I last saw her. I only saw her at night, and she is already asleep.

"Livie, can I go see Beatrice? It's been a while. I want to take her somewhere,"

"You can, your highness. I know it's been a while. Queen Beatrice has lessons all day,"

"I bet she's super tired, that's why I thought about it,"

“Is it a date your highness?”

"Shut up Livie, but I guess it's a date,"

I went outside and want to pick flowers to give to Beatrice. After picking some flowers, I went to our room.

Queen Beatrice’s POV

When I woke up, I want to sleep more because my body felt so tired and exhausted. Just when I was about to sleep, there's a knock on the door. Who could it be? When I opened the door, I was shocked because it is Alaric.

"What are you doing here, Alaric? Do you have work?"

"I have, but I told Livie to have a break for now,"

“Oh, ok, it’s been a while that we haven’t seen each other”

"Yeah and that's why I'm here to see you, here flowers for you,"

"Wow, thank you,"

"Come with me,"

"Wait for a minute. I will just get ready,"

So I got ready. When I’m done getting ready, I went to Alaric.

“Where are we going?”

"To the town,"

"Really? I want to go there so badly, but Livie won't approve because I have my lessons,"

"But he approves to it now. Come, let's go,"

I stopped him because we don't want to be seen in public going around town because were royals, so we disguised ourselves as a normal person living in town. When we arrive at the town, we go around the town while holding hands. I am happy that I'm with him today. I didn't see him this past few weeks because of work. We just buy food and roam around. It's like a date. We didn't know that it's already evening.

"Alaric, it's already evening,"

"I see, I didn't notice it because we are having fun,"

“Your right, so let’s go back at the palace, I bet Livie is worried,"

"Yeah, let's go,"

When we arrive at the castle, I saw a guy, and he is handsome. I wonder who he is. When I turned to see Alaric, his face looked angry.

Narrator’s POV

King Alaric has an angry expression because his cousin arrived without notice. He and his cousin didn't get along well, that's why he gets so irritated.

“Who is he Livie?”

"Your highness, let me introduce to you, Prince Neil, cousin of King Alaric,"

"Hello, Queen Beatrice, you are beautiful," Neil said while kissing my hand.

"Stop it, Neil," King Alaric said

"Oh, Alaric is jealous,"

"I'm not,"

"Uhum? Beatrice, I heard a lot about you, and we have the same age. Why not fall in love with me and not that brat that is younger than you,"

"Get out of here Neil,"

"That's enough Prince Neil, come with me, I will show you to your room," Livie said

“Ok, bye cousin and Beatrice” Neil said while winking at Queen Beatrice

Queen Beatrice was shocked by Prince Neil's behavior. He is a playboy and a flirt but is handsome.

“Hey Beatrice, don’t get close to Neil,"

"I will not, but he is handsome though, and we have the same age,"

"I am more handsome than him though,"

"Are you jealous, Alaric? Because it's written all over your face,"

"No, I'm not,"

"Yes, you are,"

"Stop it, Beatrice,"

“I will not, your jealous Alaric,"

And that ends their night, arguing non-stop.

The next day, Queen Beatrice went to the garden because she heard voices. When she arrived, Prince Neil was surrounded by girls.

"Neil sure is a flirt and a playboy,"

"Even though he is like that your highness, he is so handsome," the maid said

“I cannot agree more”

Prince Neil saw Queen Beatrice and went to her.

"Good morning Queen Beatrice, as beautiful as usual,"

"Good morning to you too Neil, thank you,"

When Prince Neil was making a move, King Alaric suddenly showed up.

“What are you doing to my wife?”

“What do you think?” Neil said teasingly

"Come, Beatrice, I said not to get close to him,"

"I'm not, he just approached me suddenly,"

King Alaric dragged Queen Beatrice inside the palace, away from Prince Neil.

Princess Beatrice’s POV

I'm now getting ready because Neil throws a party for his return, and both me and Alaric are the guests. When Alaric and I were eating, I observed that Alaric is irritated by Neil because Neil was flirting with the girls. He's a playboy, all right. Suddenly Alaric stands up.

"Beatrice, let's go outside. I can't stand seeing Neil,"

"Oh, ok,"

"I will head there first. I will wait for you there,"

Just when Beatrice is about to go after Alaric, Neil stopped her and trapped her in the corner. He was about to kiss Beatrice when Alaric suddenly appeared and punched Neil and walked out. Beatrice went after Alaric.

"Alaric, hey Alaric,"

"Leave me alone,"

"What has gotten into you? You are acting strange lately,"

"Because of you two,"

“What about it?”

"Don't you get it? I'm jealous, ok. Happy?"

"So I was right all along, you know that you don't have to be jealous, Alaric,"

"I can't help it, whenever I saw him flirting with you, I can't keep myself calm,"

"You know that I don't like him. I mean, he is handsome, but that' all, so don't be jealous because we made a promise to each other. Trust me”

"I trust you, but I don't have trust in him,"

"Don't worry. I can handle Prince Neil's playboy personality,"

"Ok, sorry for being angry and jealous,"

"It's ok, I understand,"

And we made up and hugged each other. All this time, Alaric was just jealous of Neil and me. After that, we go to sleep.
