Chapter XXX: Birthday Surprise

Beatrice’s POV

Today is Alaric’s 23^rd birthday. I am lucky because Alaric went to his office early, so we have lots of time to prepare for the surprise.

Operation: Surprise Alaric starts now. The twins and I are going to surprise Alaric. I told Livie yesterday about surprising Alaric. I asked him to make Alaric busy and not make Alaric go to the kitchen.

I went to the twin’s room. I knocked when I arrive. As I entered their room, they are still sleeping, so I woke them up.

“Endymion, Serenity. It's time to wake up,"

"Hmm, mother," they both said and rubbed their eyes.

"Good morning. It's your father's birthday today, and it's time for us to make our surprise and bake a cake,"

“Good morning too, mother. Yehey! Let's bake a cake,"

"Ok, ok. Calm down, you two. Go and get ready first,"

"Ok, mother,"

They both rushed to the bathroom and got ready. When they are done taking a bath, I dressed them and comb their hair. After getting ready, we went to the kitchen.

“Did you finish making the birthday cards for your father?”

"Yes, mother. We will give it to father later," Serenity said.

“Good”

When we arrive in the kitchen, I told the chef to make something delicious for Alaric's birthday, and I'm in charge of the cake. I put all the ingredients and ready to bake. The twins helped me. After 30 minutes, the cake is baked, and now we are going to decorate it. I start lettering the words saying, “Happy 23^rd Birthday, Alaric,"

"I want you to decorate the cake,"

"Really, mother?"

“Uhum”

“Yehey!”

"Don't fight, ok?"

The twins decorated the cake, and after some minutes, they are done decorating it.

"Mother, we are done,"

"Let me see. Wow, you two are good at decorating the cake,"

"Thank you, mother,"

"Now, I want you to go to your father's office and blindfold him with this handkerchief. After that. Lead him here, and we will surprise him, ok?"

"Ok, mother,"

The twins ran to Alaric’s office.

King Alaric’s POV

I was busy reviewing some papers when the twins entered. Suddenly, they blindfold me.

“What are you doing, Endymion and Serenity?”

"Don't complain, father," Endymion said.

"Just follow us. We will lead you. Just hold our hands, father,"

"Ok, if you say so,"

Where will they take me?

"We are here, father. Take off the blindfold,"

I followed what they say, and when I took off the blindfold.

"Surprise, happy birthday, father,"

"Happy birthday, Alaric," Beatrice said.

"Happy birthday, your highness,"

"Wow, you surprised me,"

“Let us eat?”

“Ok”

We ate together. I almost forgot that today’s my birthday. I'm 23 years old already. The food was delicious, especially the cake.

"Who bakes the cake?"

"We bake it, father," the twins said.

"Wow, I'm so proud of you,"

"We have something for you, father. We will just get it,"

The twins went to their room and get something.

“Did you plan this Beatrice?”

"Yup, I planned it, and I told the twins to help me,"

"Thank you, Beatrice,"

"No problem,"

The twins are back and holding something.

"Father, for you,"

"I hope you like it,"

The twins hand me a birthday card. I opened it and read it, and I was touched by the message.

“Thank you, Endymion and Serenity. I was touched. I like it so much,"

"You're welcome, father,"

"Thank you to you all. I almost forgot that today's my birthday because I had lots of work to do. Thank you for surprising me. I'm already satisfied that you are all here to celebrate my birthday,"

"So sweet as always. No problem. Now, let's continue eating,"

Another best and memorable birthday surprise for me.

Celebrating your birthday with your family is enough.

It’s the best birthday present for King Alaric.
