CHAPTER - 28 Adrian's plan

"Ms. Grace, please read everything carefully and let me know if you have any queries. If you need to consult with your lawyers regarding the contract, please do so. I will be waiting right outside the door in case you need anything. Once you are done, kindly let me know. I will take you back to our chairman's room if your final decision aligns with our master," Otis said to Grace with the utmost respect.

He kept his head bowed down all the time and not even once he lifted his head to look at her. Grace could see the difference between her secretary and Adrian’s. He was treated like a crown prince and normal servants were not allowed to look at him. Even his guests were treated the same way.

She signaled to him to leave the room with her hand gesture. She then lifted the medical file first and started to read the content. When she saw the consulting doctor was Dr.William, she immediately dialed his number.

She knows William very well. He was her senior in college when she was doing her undergraduate.

"Hello, Dr.William, How are you doing?" Grace asked with fake enthusiasm.

"Grace? It has been so many years. How come you remembered me all of a sudden?" William asked her.

He was more surprised that she even considered contacting him. After graduation, they never met or stayed in contact with each other. So, it’s a pretty long time and he was shocked to get a call from her.

"I have a question to ask you. Is Mr. Adrian, your patient?" Grace directly jumped to the topic. 

As he was already used to her straightforwardness, he anyway, did not expect her to do any formal greetings.

"He is my patient! Is there any problem with his health? Should I come to your hospital? Where is he right now?" He asked her with concern for his VVIP patient.

"No, no… he is fine. I have his medical reports in front of me. I want to check with you how serious his accident was? And what are the complications he had?" Grace inquired.

"You do know that it is highly confidential and I cannot disclose my patient's medical details to anyone, right?" William asked her.

His surprise increased ten folds as he was not expecting Grace to inquire about Mr.Adrian. He was a highly confidential client and not many people knew about this accident. Only a handful of them know and he was sure that Grace was not one among them. But having his report in front of her means, is Adrian planning to switch doctors? He wondered.

‘But isn’t Grace, a gynecologist? Oh! Yes, She owns a hospital too. Did she start to recruit patients too? It’s not highly impossible,’ William thought.

"I understand. But if Adrian wants me to know about these details, then I don't think you will have a problem with telling me about those highly confidential details. Why don't you give him a call and check with him? If he is ok with me knowing his medical history, then you should not have any worry about disclosing that confidential details to me." Grace forced him to spill out all the details.

At first, she didn’t want William to contact Adrian directly. But later, she thought, it is better that way. She didn’t want Adrian to think that she would easily give her daughter’s hand in marriage just because he is a well-known figure.

"Ok. Hang on for a second! I will talk to his assistant and see if I can get to speak with him. All these rich people are really difficult to reach without any prior notice. Even if it concerns their own health-related issue, we doctors have to make an appointment with them first. Don’t you think it is too stupid? They are supposed to come behind us but it is always the other way round," William complained and disconnected the call.

Grace wanted to tell him that right now he was also talking to one of the rich people. But she did not do so as she didn’t want to appear petty. She knows that the people who came from the middle-class background would always pretend to showcase themselves as a higher class.

But, later, when they meet a real rich person, they would complain as if they were one of the worst people in the whole world. They easily try to hide their jealous and covet feelings.

Grace put the medical reports down and lifted the contract file. At that time, Otis knocked on the door. Once she gave him the approval to enter, he came in.

"Dr. William wants to speak with our chairman. I will go and inform our master. Meanwhile, I have asked the kitchen to send in some refreshments as per our chairman's order. Please enjoy them until then." Otis said and signaled the servers to bring in the food.

The luxurious food arrived one by one in the food trolley. All those exotic dishes looked tempting. These cannot be ordered by anyone or even found anywhere in the world. The waiters started to serve the food on the long mahogany table. When they finished serving, the plates covered the whole table.

Grace was not someone who particularly showed interest in what she ate. Until the food is healthy and nutritious, she does not complain about the food. But the minute, she laid her eyes on the plates, she suddenly found it appealing.

Otis signaled the waiters to leave the room. Once the door was closed behind them, he said,

"I hope all these are to your liking. Please let me know if you find anything that is not to your savor. I will ask them to make some more dishes according to your taste."

"No. It's fine. You may leave." Grace said as she eyed the dishes that were kept on the table.

Otis bowed his head and closed the door behind him without making any sound. A mocking smile escaped the corner of his mouth and he stared at the closed door behind.

Once he left, Grace envied at the table full of food. The aroma was enticing and she instantly had the urge to try every dish. She started to finish all the dishes one by one.

As the quantity was less, she got a chance to try almost everything. She decided that she had to bring her daughter Tina here once to taste these exotic dishes. The food here was best and it tasted better after every bite she ate. It looked like it was all made with the fresh and best ingredients.

Once Otis entered Adrian's room, he handed the phone to him.

"Dr.William! Hope you are doing good." Adrian spoke on the phone to William.

"Yes, Thank you, Mr. Adrian. So, how is your health? Our next appointment will be this coming week. I thought I might have to remind you about that." William said to know if Adrain was planning to switch hospitals.

"Thanks for your reminder. If that's all, then…" Adrian tried to cut the call.

"No, no… Actually, I wanted to discuss something important with you,” He said and waited for Adrian’s permission.

As he did not get any, William continued to speak after a brief gap.

“A couple of minutes ago, I got a call from Dr.Grace. You may know about her... They own…” William tried to remember the hospital name owned by Grace but couldn’t.

“I know who Grace is, Dr. William. Please continue what you wanted to discuss with me?” Adrian said impatiently.

“Oh! That’s good then. She wants to know about your medical history. I am not sure if I can share all the details with her or not… So, I thought to talk with you once before I can..." Dr.William sweated a lot before he could finish talking.

He felt immense pressure talking to Adrian. He could not understand what was wrong with him all of a sudden. He felt fear engulf him and he had difficulty breathing.

"That's fine, Dr. William. Please do share all my medical history with Dr. Grace." Adrian said and hung up the call without expecting any reply from Dr.William.

"Seer, do you think Dr.William will disclose all the details?" Otis asked with worry.

If he disclosed everything, then this marriage will definitely not happen.

"Do not worry, I have placed a 'block' magic on him. He won't be able to utter a single word about that," Adrian said with a wicked smile.

"Also, Seer, I have placed Rangers to guard Ms.Grace's room. She won't be able to leave even if she wishes to. I have also sent the food prepared by our magic chefs to her table. The alluring magic in them would make her eat everything. As per your order, we have added the ‘mind trap potion’ and she would agree to your request no matter what her choice might be." Otis reported to him.
