CHAPTER - 35 Kylie finds out the truth

Millie looked at him in surprise. 

“Why did you not inform me about that earlier?” Millie complained.

“I was about to tell you but we were interrupted by…” Mason said.

“So were you planning to hide this from us? Your parents? She is our granddaughter too,” Kylie grumbled after hearing his response.

“Mom, relax… I will tell you everything but not now,” Mason tried to calm her.

“Where is she? Did someone kidnap her or…? What happened? When is she coming home?” Abel, who had walked near them, continuously questioned Mason.

“As I said before I will tell you everything later. But for now, our Tina is well and good. She will come back in two days.” Mason informed them while looking at Millie meaningfully.

Then Millie understood who he was talking about. Her heart screamed, ‘No no no no no no no no no…’. This is not correct. We cannot do this. This is against moral value.

‘How could he even think to destroy Dina’s life? Did he become like Grace after being with her for so long?’ She wondered.

Millie left the place and stood next to the operating room, her daughter was getting treated. She wished that her daughter would not wake up from this horrible dream. Then all these could be avoided. Till she was alive, she cannot let these two control her granddaughter's lives as they want. Just because they are the parents doesn’t mean that they could do whatever they want with their daughters, Dina and Tina.

Suddenly, when she realized what she was wishing to happen to her daughter, she shivered and her legs turned wobbly. She slid down on the floor. Kylie noticed that and rushed towards her.

“Mil, what happened? Don’t worry, Grace is strong. Nothing will happen to her,” Kylie said and hugged Millie.

‘No… You don’t know what I wished for my daughter. I … I…’ Her mind became fuzzy and she pushed Kylie away.

“I want some alone time,” She uttered and stood up. 

Without meeting anyone’s eyes, she left the hospital and went back home. Mason got afraid that Millie would not agree to his request. So, he informed his parents to keep an eye on Grace and rushed behind her.

But before he could stop Millie, She climbed on to her car and asked the driver to drive away. Mason dashed to his car and started to follow her.

Kylie looked at both of them leaving in a hurry and raised her eyebrows. She turned towards her husband, Abel, and said,

“Don’t you think after our son married this woman, he had changed a lot?”

“Now stop complaining about our daughter-in-law. She must have her reasons to do that. Any mother will act like this if they cannot find their daughter. Think about it, she still doesn’t know that Tina is missing. Maybe, we made a mistake by listening to Mason to keep it under wraps. 

If we had told her earlier then she would have not thought that we are hiding Tina from her. It’s all your fault. I told you to let the mother and daughter be, but no, you had to make plans to separate the mother and daughter. Now, look who is facing the consequences,” Abel protested.

“Oh! You stop it! Now it’s all because of me? What if Tina actually ran away from her tortures. Maybe she was pretending to be an obedient daughter and had long planned this escape? Anyway, didn’t Mason say he knows where Tina is? So, don’t you dare blame me for anything? I am leaving from here. I have lots of other work to do. You stay here and take care of your precious psychotic daughter-in-law,” She exclaimed and turned around to leave.

“Stop making excuses. You can just tell me that you want to follow them and find out what they were going to discuss. Do you think I don’t know what’s going on in that small brain of yours? Oh! Just give me a break,” Abel shouted behind her back.

Kylie ignored him as her concentration was fully on if she would be able to catch them both before they left.

Abel then realized that he had even forgotten that they were standing in a hospital. Even though the hospital is owned by them, still, he knows he has lost his cool and unrestrainedly shouted in the corridor. He took several deep breaths to control his rage and looked at the closed door worriedly. 

Even though he had always supported his daughter-in-law blindly until now, he still felt little difficulty digesting her this crazy behavior. He rubbed his face with both his hands. Then he walked near the benches and sat on one of them.

Just before Mason could leave, Kylie hurriedly walked towards him and stopped his car.

“Mom, what is wrong with you? I could have hit you right now,” Mason shouted through the opened window.

“Let me come with you,” Kylie ordered.

“No, stay here with Grace. When she comes out of the surgery, she might need someone to stay with her. I will come back as soon as my work is done.” Mason said impatiently while looking at Millie’s car that is driving out of his eyesight.

“I am also coming with you. That’s it. Abel is here to take care of her. So, you don’t have to worry about your wife. I don’t want to hear any excuse. Open your car door and let me in,” She was adamant and tried to open the locked door several times.

“Alright, fine!” Left with no other choice, he opened the door for his mom to sit.

“I can’t believe you…” He mumbled and started the car.

“I can’t believe you, my son. Most of the time I doubt if you were really my son or not. The way you are behaving right now, so sneakily, and planning something without your mother’s knowledge… Do you think you are doing the right thing?” Kylie questioned him.

Mason sighed and said, “Mom, I have no time to argue with you right now. If you want to come with me, then you can come. But please don’t speak a word. I am already in a total mess and I don’t have any patience to hear you ranting.”

“Ranting? Did you just say that to me? Your mom?” She was left speechless.

“Mom, Shut up! That’s it! If you speak one more word, then I will have to ask you to get out of this car,” Mason muttered without lifting his eyes from the traffic.

He stepped on the accelerator and speedily drove the car, trying to catch Millie.

Kylie felt offended by how Mason spoke to her. She glared at him and when she was about to retort, he increased the speed of the car. She held the car’s handle so that she would not be pushed forward and backward because of the way Mason is driving the car.

“Why are you in a hurry? Drive slowly, we may get into an accident.” She tried to advise him.

But Mason was in no mood to listen to her. When he found an opportunity he pulled the car next to Millie’s car and shouted,

“Mom, please stop the car,” 

He moved his hand slightly outside and tried to tap on the moving car’s window. Kylie saw this in terror and pulled his body inside the car.

“What the hell do you think you are doing? Are you trying to kill us both? Stop the car right this minute, Mason,” She screamed at him.

Her screams fell on deaf ears when Mason once again tried to put his hand outside. Millie noticed what Mason was trying to do and asked her drive to stop on the side of the road.

When Mason noticed Millie’s car moving towards the side lane, he followed the car. He stopped his car right next to her’s and rushed out to meet Millie. He was desperate to convince Millie to save his wife’s life.

Kylie could not understand why he was running like a maniac. She had never seen him act so rashly before. When she noticed the person who got out of the other car, she was even more astounded.

“Why do you have to hurry so much to meet, Mil? You could have given her a call and told her you wanted to talk to her. Moreover, she lives next door.” Kylie whined and got down from the car slowly.

“What is wrong with you, Mason? Have you lost your mind?” Millie gave him a tight slap, the minute he went near her.

Mason didn’t care about the slap. Instead, he went on his knees and started to beg.

“Please, please… save my wife. I promise… I promise… nothing will…”

Before he could finish his sentence another slap landed on his face.

“Who do you think you are? Your wife is my daughter. Do not forget that. What you are asking me to do is a crime! I can’t do it. I am sorry,” Millie said and turned around to get into her car.
